Disappointing Experience with the Steam Room During our stay at the Ramada Hotel Bangkok Riverside, I wanted to use the steam room before swimming with my husband. I asked at reception, where a very friendly young staff member advised me to use the steam room first, as his colleagues would switch it on and it should be ready in about ten minutes. Unfortunately, when I arrived on the third floor, the steam room was completely cold. A very helpful young man working in the spa area contacted reception for me, and I was told that someone would come to switch it on. He advised me to go swimming first and return after about 30 minutes, by which time it should be warm. However, when I returned, the steam room was still completely cold. The same helpful staff member contacted reception again, and once more I was told that someone would come. After waiting another ten minutes, a female staff member finally arrived and switched it on again, only to tell me that I would have to wait even longer for it to heat up. At that point, I had already spent more than an hour trying to use the steam room and gave up. I would like to emphasize that the young man working in the spa area was very friendly and helpful throughout the entire situation. My criticism is not directed at him, but at the hotel's organization and the apparent lack of coordination between departments. Guests pay for the facilities advertised by the hotel and should reasonably expect them to be ready for use. Having to make repeated trips, wait for staff and spend more than an hour simply trying to get the steam room working is not acceptable for a hotel of this standard. I understand that technical problems can occur, but the way this situation was handled was frustrating and disappointing. I hope the hotel takes this feedback seriously and improves the maintenance and coordination of its spa facilities so that other guests do not have the same experience.

I stayed at this hotel as part of a promotional membership offer from the hotel club. I had already paid for a three-night stay, but following a presentation—during which the salesperson was unfriendly—Club Wyndham suddenly demanded an additional payment of over 6 million. This was due to an error in selecting the income bracket on the form—a simple mistake that, in my opinion, could have easily been corrected on the spot. I refused to pay and checked out a day early. The hotel service was also disappointing; I waited for the boat pickup at Sathorn Pier from before 4:00 PM until 5:10 PM, yet no hotel boat arrived. On the bright side, the food was good, and the housekeeping and bell staff were friendly. However, their method of attracting customers feels like a trap and is highly disadvantageous to the guest.
2nd stay here, View from the room is awesome, no matter which room you take. Service is awesome with robots delivering your water, super fast. Breakfast was very very good last time, but this time due to renovation i guess the menu was short. Right beside the chayo phraya river, doing breakfast feels awesome. Pool is good, lobby area is huge to wait, they have good snacks for checking in guests. They have ferry running every hour to the central pier
I enjoyed my short stay at this hotel, my suite was modern and clean. The gym was more than sufficient with many cardio facilities and resistance machines to cover all major muscle groups, sauna, steam rooms and jacuzzi thrown in too. There are a few seven elevens outside the hotel and plenty of restaurants catering for tourists in the Asiatique within a short walking distance. I went for a more local option for dinner by walking up the road searching and eventually finding a more local restaurant with authentic flavours. The boat to the station is useful and free.
The room was superb, with great amenities, the breakfast buffet had a wide selection of good food and our room has a very good view of the Chao Phraya River. We stayed for three days, and the breakfast selection varied slightly. The breakfast staff were consistently kind and hospitable. There were a few areas that could be improved. I experienced a spider bite at the jacuzzi area, which was concerning, especially for a hotel of this standard. The lobby service was also okay, although compared with the other hotels we stayed at during our trip, it felt less warm and accommodating. The Club Wyndham Preview was probably the biggest factor in our overall impression. I understand that sales presentations can be direct and goal-oriented, but I personally found the approach a little too aggressive for a high-value family membership. We wanted to take our time, look at the numbers, and understand the benefits before making any decision. A more relaxed and consultative approach would have made the experience much more comfortable. As an existing All Accor member, I was also hoping to better understand what Club Wyndham could offer that would complement what I already have. Unfortunately, I left the presentation feeling that the sales approach overshadowed the value of the product itself. The room, breakfast, and the river view were definitely highlights, but the jacuzzi incident and the sales experience affected our overall stay.
