Unfortunately, our experience was very negative. We had chosen this property for our first night in Bangkok, but we were not even able to complete our check-in because we were forced to leave due to the behaviour of a man, presumably a guest of the property, who appeared to be drunk and verbally attacked us with completely unjustified threats and insults. I do not want to directly blame the property, as I cannot know for certain who this person was or whether he was actually a guest. However, I find it unacceptable that, just a few hours after arriving in Bangkok, we found ourselves in a situation like this, and most importantly, we did not feel safe. I would strongly recommend reviewing and improving the security and guest-control procedures to prevent situations like this from happening again. Guests should be welcomed into a safe, peaceful and respectful environment — not confronted by intoxicated and aggressive people. Unfortunately, we had no choice but to leave without even being able to complete our stay. A terrible first experience in Bangkok. Never again.

We made a mistake by booking this hotel for 5 nights, we should have given it a try for a couple of days first. Let me list the myriad of problems we faced: 1. We booked the hotel cab for airport pickup. The driver did not take the highway and it took us 2 hours to reach the hotel from the airport amid the floods. There was so much water on the roads but saving 140 THB was more important after charging us 1500 THB for the cab. It usually takes 300-400 THB. 2. We arrived quite late, checked in and settled in our room. At first look, it looked okay, we got in the bed and the blanket cover was torn, like a big tear. The balcony gate wouldn’t lock and there were mosquitoes in the room. We were tired so we just went to sleep. 3. The next morning I woke up and saw that the balcony was just facing a wall, no view whatsoever. Went to the reception and asked if they could change the room, they told me they were fully booked for the next 2 days. Went back again after 2 days, again the same answer. They just didn’t want to change the room, it was clear. 4. The room lacked quite a few basic things you’d expect - there was just 1 huge pan, no good for even boiling milk, I asked them for a smaller pan or a vessel, the reception said what’s in the room would have to do. 2 half litre water bottles were given, there is no option to fill those bottles. It’s a residence, people plan to stay for long durations, how is that overlooked? 5. The reception staff is just clueless, unhelpful and unresponsive. I can go on and on but I’d just conclude here by saying that there are so many amazing properties in this area and in Bangkok in general with really warm, hospitable people. Please don’t book this one, you’ll regret it when you get here.
I was deeply disappointed by the level of hospitality at this Oakwood property, particularly in my interactions with the front desk, Sales team, and management. My main concern is that the staff appeared to prioritize Oakwood’s own interests over the needs and expectations of its guests. Even when there were prior agreements, confirmed arrangements, or specific orders in place, these were effectively disregarded, with Oakwood’s decisions taking precedence. I have rarely experienced this kind of approach at an accommodation property. Moreover, the price being charged does not appear to be justified by the level of service provided. The overall experience left me feeling that there was little consideration for the customer and very little effort to understand or accommodate the guest’s perspective. If you are looking for accommodation in this area, I would strongly recommend considering other options. Based on my experience, I do not believe the service provided here is consistent with the price or the level of hospitality one should reasonably expect.
Rooms on 1st floor (Thai second floor) are very dark and the rooms on the road side are very noisy at night as there is some kind of all night transport thing opposite on the same Soi. It's a shame, these are really nice big apartments, but you need ear plugs, and the apartments lower down get no natural light. The pool area is great, I will say yhat., and the location is very good if you want to be in Thong Lo.
1. When I dropped off my 83 years old mom and my younger brother late night, your staff sat there kept watching us handling our luggage and getting mom off the car without any hesitation to do the "service, assist, or help". Fine. We can do our own and moment later when one of your staff walked out from the inside to greet and welcome us inside we were done what had to do. Frist impression was bad that night and un-comparable to our earlier visit at the Oakwood Residence Sukhumvit ThongLor. 2. I paid for “one-bedroom premier apartment” via agoda.com and requested “twins” bed via agoda app. And we found out that it was a single bed not twin. What surprise me was your staff that night (around 10.00 pm.) told me that I booked “one-bedroom premier”!!! I told him that yes “one-bedroom” is a room type but I also requested for “twin beds”. I wonder why he confused the basic English and hotel terms between “room” & “bed”. Not only this but he expressed bad service attributes eg. Wording, facial expression, and non verbal like sigh which I am sure that this is not “service standard” of the Oakwood! To let you know that my mom comes to Bangkok to do her dental treatment often over the past year and we almost always stayed at “the Centre Point ThongLor” near where I live and we never ever experience this kind of confusion there. We chose to stay with you just because it was full at the Centre Point ThongLor! So I had to fight for my right and you know what? Your staff fought me back!!! That was unpleasant at all to let thing happened like that late night while mom and my brother need to rest after a long journey that day. Finally he put us at your “2 bedroom” one not request by us. We need just twin beds for mom and my brother. But thank you for the upgrade. 3. Your carpet was bad reflecting poor maintain the cleanliness and hygiene both at the earlier and the 4th floors. We may have to re-visit you again if that Centre Point ThongLor is full and easy for me to travel back and forth from my place so it is the reason why I feedback here. Hope to see improvement on work procedures adherence, professional service standard compliance, facility hygiene and standard. thank you
