Hotel Mermaid Bangkok

This is the second time I stay in this hotel. Both times have been great. The location is prime. Good staff. Has a pool. Comfy room with nice bed and pillows. Clean and conscious about the environment. Definitely worth it.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A comfortable stay with wonderful staff! We keep coming back to Mermaid Hotel because the facilities provided are more than sufficient for us. The room is clean and spacious, and the location is great. Although there are a few signs of wear and tear, it really doesn’t bother us, as we mainly use the common areas of the room, such as the bed, bathroom and balcony. What I really want to highlight, though, is the wonderful staff. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, professional and communicated very well. A special mention to the security guard who was incredibly kind and attentive. He went above and beyond to help us, even when we told him that it wasn’t necessary. His compassion and initiative really stood out to us. He even taught me how to count in Thai! 😂🇹🇭 I truly hope the management recognises his efforts, as well as those of the other front desk staff and housekeeping team. Their service really makes a difference to our stay. Thank you, Mermaid Hotel, for always making us feel comfortable and welcome. We’ll definitely be back! ❤️

I stayed at The Mermaid hotel in June and it made my experience in Bangkok. As a female solo traveller, the staff and owner of the hotel made me feel so safe and comfortable and were so kind and caring! The room was big and clean and the bed was super comfortable. The location was great too, it was off the Main Street so it was quiet but it was 2 minute walk to the main road so very close to everything. I’d definitely recommend this hotel and I can’t wait to stay again!

My room was not ready for occupancy and I had to have maintenance out twice to change the bathroom receptacle, fix the toilet (the toilet seat was not secured), and the bathtub drain plug. So I had one night where I could not use the bathtub. Two lights were burned out and had to be replaced. The television cabinet doors would not close all the way which looked tacky. The maintenance staff said they couldn’t repair them, so they removed them instead. There were no instructions on how to operate the cable television so I had to ask the staff how to use it. But the cable selection wasn’t all that good, anyway. Some of the furniture in the room is scratched and the wooden floor has large separations between tiles. It looks really cheap. These are issues that should have been inspected and resolved before I arrived. I rented the Premiere Double Corner room that showed a kitchenette in the room in the viewing pictures, but there was none and the duty manager told me that the picture was for another room, so apparently that was my fault, not theirs. The only thing I was offered for my disappointment and not getting the kitchenette I was expecting was an upgrade, if I was willing to pay for it. That was definitely unacceptable to me. I complained that the room offered no toiletries and I was told I had to ask for them. I found that to be unprofessional. I was also told, since I had no kitchenette that if I needed plates or silverware I would have to ask for them too. So, I asked for silverware and was given plastic ware instead. The staff doesn’t always greet you and some just don’t seem to care if the guest is happy or not. I am seriously disappointed in this hotel and their complete lack of accommodation. I will never stay here again and I do frequently come to Bangkok. Hopefully if you decide to rent a room here your luck will be better than mine.
