I am truly baffled by the amount of 4 and 5 star reviews for this place. We read some of the bad reviews before going but thought it couldn’t be that bad given their overall rating. Believe the bad reviews.. This is the most bizarre hotel I’ve ever been to. Vibe is like ancient Thailand meets junkyard. My husband and I stayed here for one night just to catch a plane out in the morning. The whole place felt creepy and run down including our room. There was only one key which also ran the air conditioning so if you had to leave the room the A/C would turn off. The room had a strange chemical smell when we walked in. At first the bathroom door was shut and thank god it was because as soon as you opened it you were hit in the face with an overwhelming hot sewer smell. There was an old bandaid stuck to the desk, mouse droppings on the floor, and my husband woke up to ants crawling across his pillow in the morning. Also the whole place is mosquito heaven. Don’t do it.

Absolutely 5 star experience for us. This is a huge resort property filled with tons of art pieces, a large lake, spectacular statues and decor everywhere, and with the most unique incredible rooms that left a lasting impression on my guest. Our own pool with room service with a view of sunset over the lake is a cherished memory. The restaurant with included breakfast feels like a British castle with the most gorgeous table settings. The concierge went above and beyond helping us. This is a must stay place for us now.
Ammata Lanta Resort is a very cool and unique place with a lot of neat photo opportunities, the aesthetic is definitely its strongest feature weird and different which I like. That said, our experience in the Superior King Villa had several drawbacks that are worth noting. Ammata is not a 5 star hotel. The floors in the villa were noticeably uneven, which made the space feel awkward. The bathroom was missing basic amenities like conditioner and lotion (very glad I brought my own), and the shower water ran cold within just a couple of minutes. The balcony was also disappointing: there was no furniture, and none of the balcony lights worked. You are unable to connect your personal Netflix or TV apps. Location-wise, there really isn’t anything within walking distance. No nearby shops or non resort restaurants so you’re limited to eating at the hotel or traveling up the road for a couple street carts or 7 eleven. On top of that, Google Maps didn’t work properly for the resort, and our cab driver drove past it several times trying to find the entrance at least 3 times, which added about 300 baht to our cab bill. I’m glad we stayed here for just one night because it’s close to the airport which is VERY loud. It works fine for a short layover. However, I don’t think I’d choose this resort for an extended stay. Overall, it’s visually interesting but falls short on comfort and convenience.
First time being im thailand and staying in this resort was an amazing experience like no other. From the moment of checking in to helping us to our room to checking out every single employee working here made us feel safe and welcomed. Cant explian the detailing in the rooms leaving us in ahh moments. To traveling a couple feet away to an amazing night restaurant with live music. Sad our stay was short here but would definitely rebook again when we return.
I am absolutely delighted with this hotel! 🏰 It is built in a unique ancient Thai style and feels like a true work of art. There are countless details and accents everywhere: from golden figures on the towers to antique furniture inside. Every column, every sculpture, even the walls covered with portraits create the impression of another era. The interiors are simply magical, almost fairytale-like. The domed brick ceilings are breathtaking — lying in bed, you feel like a princess in a castle. The atmosphere is both dark and cozy at the same time, and words can hardly capture this feeling. Unfortunately, I only stayed for one night, so I didn’t have the chance to try the breakfast. Yes, the hotel is quite old and in some places could use renovation, but this only adds to its character and unique charm. Special mention goes to the restaurant: wonderful food, live music, and an amazing atmosphere. ✨ The grounds are vast — with a lake, a pool with fountains, palm trees, sculptures, and hidden corners perfect for wandering. It feels like stepping into another world where past and present intertwine. This is not just a hotel, but a journey through time and space. I will definitely come back here again! 💫 P.S.: During check-in at the reception, they give you an amazing 10-minute massage.
