We had an amazing day on this cycling tour and would highly recommend it! We loved that it was a small group, which made the experience feel much more personal and relaxed. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and warm, sharing so much information about Balinese culture, history, and daily life throughout the day. Nothing was too much trouble; he made us feel welcome and comfortable. Our driver, also named Kadek, was safe and clearly knew his way around the busy roads. Thank you for a wonderful experience!!

Fantastic 1/2 day tour. Our Guide Dewa was friendly, knowledgeable and very flexible on our tour. A great morning topped off with a delicious lunch back at their restaurant. Easy communication and great value for money. A professional team from booking, pick up/drop off, guiding, support crew and restaurant staff. Highly recommended.
Great day out. Pick up on time, friendly and helpful. Driver navigated traffic well and answered any queries as we drove. Bike ride very easy - nice to have ride choices, with option of easy or marginally more difficult route. Our guide was brilliant. knowledgeable, funny and ensured we had a good time along the way. Interesting to see the real Bali villages, interactive and enjoyable day out.
Really enjoyed the tour, got some insight to the real cultural side of Bali. I would definitely recommend to visitors to the area. Lunch was really good and they catered for us vegetarians.
Absolutely great excursion. Our guide Kadek and our driver Putu were wonderful and knowledgeable both with Kadeks local knowledge and Putus abilities to negotiate Balis busy traffic. Would recommend this to all. Very enjoyable. 😎
We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Everything went to smoothly including communication, drop off and pickup. Our guide Kadek, and driver made sure we did not want for anything and where attentive and informative. It was a very enjoyable and well executed, I would highly recommend.
The trip went flawlessly. Pick up and drop off was smooth and easy. Our driver Putu was friendly and safe. Our guide / bike leader was Kadek. He also was friendly and wonderful to deal with. The tour itself started at a coffee plantation where we sampled a variety of different coffees and teas. A nice start to the tour. After this we got on the bikes. These were comfortable, in great condition and well maintained. Each bike was fitted to it's rider and we were given some simple instructions on gears, brakes etc so everyone was comfortable with "how to drive". Experienced riders would not need these, but for people who had not ridden for a while, it was useful. Of the roughly 3 hours riding, I think I pedalled for.about 10 minutes in total. My kind of riding 😁 You can check the photos to get an idea of the beauty and peace you ride through. It is a wonderful experience. Kadek our guide shared all kinds of information about the area, the culture and the people. He was brilliant. All in all, it was a great day. HIGHLY recommend it for couples, families or for singles.
We had an amazing time on this cycling tour! The route was beautiful, showcasing the authentic side of Bali away from the crowds. Our guide Kadek was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and made sure everyone felt safe and comfortable throughout the ride. The bikes were in excellent condition and the lunch at the end was delicious. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Bali!
Absolutely incredible experience! We had the best time on the downhill cycling tour with Amara Bali! The route through the traditional villages and rice fields in Ubud was stunning and far away from the crowded tourist areas. The bikes were in great condition, safety was top priority, and the local lunch at the end was delicious. Thank you to our amazing guides for being so friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommended if you visit Bali!
Kadek was a friendly and informative host guiding us through local temples Balinese homes and rice paddies - the stop at a traditional Balinese home showed us aspects of life you won’t find in the guidebook - followed by a yummy lunch. Thankyou Kadek 😍
Amazing crew and fun. So supportive and helpful. Would recommend this to anyone. Thank you for a special day for my family
We had a downhill tour with Kadek who was knowledgeable, funny, and an excellent tour guide. The family run business go above and beyond to service your every need. The tour itself was suitable for all age groups and the bikes were amazing. We visited rice fields en route, a traditional family home, got some excellent knowledge on traditions, history and an insite into the Balanese culture. We finished out 17km downhill run with lunch and it was well worth it. I would certainly be booking this family for further trips in the future.
We had a wonderful day in Ubud. The driver arrived on time For pickup. Breakfast and lunch were delicious, and we loved it. Our tour guide, Wayan, was very knowledgeable. We learned a lot about Balinese culture. The cycling route was very easy, 97% downhill. We enjoyed the rural atmosphere, the rice paddies, the village temples, and the friendly locals people. I highly recommend this tour.
We really enjoyed our cycling tour. The communication from the tour company was great and our tour guide was lovely. The tour started at a coffee plantation. We got to sample local coffee and tea - which was delicious so we bought some to take home. The bike tour is mostly downhill but there are a few stretches throughout the ride that are uphill. These are around 20-50 meters and if you can’t pedal uphill you can just walk with your bike. The terrain varies - road, hard path, mud tracks etc. It’s not particularly difficult but you do need to be reasonably confident riding a bike. We stopped along the way at a traditional Balinese family compound and at a rice farm. We also learnt about Nyepi Day. The tour ends with a traditional Balinese meal - which was tasty. It was a long car ride there and back from Seminyak - left at 9am and returned around 6.30pm. This is not the fault of the tour company - just noting it would have be easier to access from Ubud. Overall a great experience and it was nice to see some of the more traditional parts of Bali by bicycle.
Really enjoyed the trip, bikes were good quality, we ended up having a private tour which was informative and interesting. I couldn't have thought of a better way of seeing local villages and rice fields. The lunch was delicious and beers were a bonus. Thanks for a great time would recommend
We had a great day with our tour guide Wayan. He is very knowledgeable, polite and we learned a lot from the experience of people living in Bali. We love their own culture of hospitality. We really enjoyed our day. we will do this tour again.
We had a wonderful day with our tour guide Nyoman. He was very knowledgeable. We learned a lot about Balinese culture. We did a 25k bike ride. It was very easy the whole way downhill, but there was 3% uphill. We stopped at various points to visit several places, such as traditional Balinese houses, village temples and rice fields, on the way by bicycle and ended up at a restaurant with delicious Balinese food. I highly recommend this tour to those of you who like Balinese culture.
extraordinary tour that we have done so far. If you want to be away from the hustle and bustle of the city, this tour is for those of you who want to enjoy the countryside and learn about culture and traditions. the road just goes downhill very easily. The tour guide was very good and gave lots of opportunities to take photos. highly recommend it!
This team was excellent at communicating with us around pick ups and drop offs that met our travel needs. Loved this experience. Mostly gentle downhill, with a few brief uphills. Rode through small villages, and were able to visit a family compound - a fascinating privilege. Our guide Agus was friendly, informative, super upbeat, and safety conscious. These bikes were in the best shape of any bike I’ve ridden that wasn’t my own. Quality mountain bikes with good brakes and smooth shifting. Agus was open to photo stops and carefully guided us through the one brief area where there was traffic. I would highly recommend this experience and this company.
Great afternoon bicycle ride- mostly downhill and on quiet lanes. Our English speaking guide was very helpful and interesting and explained many aspects of Balinese culture to us, taking us to visit a traditional Balinese home and a village temple. The ride finished with a delicious lunch- we were starving by then- and we were driven back to our accommodation. Highly recommended!
We had a great day out with Amara Bali Family Tour. We were picked up at our hotel in Ubud and taken to the starting point. Then taken on a bike ride through local villages, rice terraces and past many beautiful temples. The tour itself provides a unique insight into a different side of Bali outside of the cities and towns, I don’t believe you would get to see without doing a tour like this. The views were beautiful throughout and our guide was happy to stop whenever we wanted to take photos or needed a quick water break. Kadek, our guide, had a fantastic grasp of English. Meaning he could answer all of our questions, explain in detail what life is like for locals and help us understand Balinese culture/family traditions. All in all the tour was great value for money as we received pick up/drop off at our hotel, 4-5 hours cycling (with stops in between) and then lunch at the final destination (which was delicious). If it isn’t obvious by their name, Amara Bali Family Tour, it is a family business run by local Balinese. So you’re not only supporting local people, it is also a fantastic tour to get a deeper understanding of Balinese life. Highly recommend.
Was such a wonderful day spent with Kadek from Amara Bali. We are a family of four, kids are 13 and 16, with pretty ordinary fitness levels and it was fantastic! Saw so much, up close in the rice fields, happy waving children, homes and villages. Delicious lunch to finish the day. Highly highly recommend to everyone
We had a wonderful day out, we were picked up from our hotel in Kuta and had a nice drive to Ubud. The ride was beautiful and lunch was amazing. Thank you so much!
We had a great time during the cycling tour. We visited beautiful rice terraces, went to a coffee plantation and learnt more about the culture and life of local people. Kadek is a very enthusiastic storyteller and a great guide!
This tour was amazing and is an absolute must do if you want to get a better feel for rural balinese life and see some beautiful sights. We did the cycle tour with our 2x kids (4 & 6 years) and they loved it! Kadek our tour guide was the best, he was amazing with the kids and was very informative and spoke very good English. Also the lunch was delicious with a great view!
Coffee plantation visit was excellent, but overall tour was very informative with a good mix of tourist, cultural and cycling experiences.
We are a couple of oldies (54 and 56) who do cycle at home, but just wanted to cruise downhill, in holiday mode. This tour was perfect. We were picked up from our hotel at 10.30. It's a fair drive from Legian / Kuta / Seminyak, but definitely worth it. Everything was provided, including helmets and bottled drinking water. The bikes were in good condition and suitable for the tour. We stopped to look at rice terraces and working rice fields. We visited a family compound and Kadek introduced us to some interesting information about Balinese culture and way of life. We visited a temple and cycled through a dozen villages. All up, we went downhill for about 27kms! The cycling part of our trip ended at a warung at 4.45pm, for a delicious meal. A great day out in the island! Would highly recommend this tour to anyone who can balance on two wheels. #balinaturalcyclingtour
Had a wonderful time not only cycling through the countryside but also visiting the Tegallalang Rice Terrace, Cantik coffee plantation, traditional Balinese house and temple. We learnt heaps from Kadek and was always willing to answer our questions. The bikes are in dog condition and the cycling is 90% downhill. You get to see a part of Bali that many don’t. Well worth the trip and great value for money.
Kadek was a terrific guide. We communicated via WhatsApp the day before our trip and asked if we wanted to eat lunch before or after the ride, we were delighted to chose after. He arrived on time with a driver who took us through lovely countryside to the start of our mostly downhill ride. He provided just the right amount of information at each stop. We chose to skip the coffee plantation having been to one the previous day. Lunch was at a small and tranquil spot and beautifully presented. All in all a terrific day.
Fabulous bike tour & culture insights Fantastic tour guide with a sense of humour Recommended Suksama
A super nice private tour, we were 6 people. We had a super nice guide who told a lot about the villages in Bali and the customs, fun and educational! Cycling was very easy only downhill. The tour ended with a delicious nasi with a warung. Another great day in Bali 😃
Very nice and patient Guide who tells a lot about Bali and life in the countryside. You will be picked up on time in a fine car. There is also someone riding in a pickup with spare bikes throughout the trip in case there is a flat tire or something. It also stops traffic at the busy intersections. Food at the restaurant included and tasty.
this was one of the best activities on our trip, especially because our tour guide was so friendly and funny. The tour includes a trip to one of the Luwak coffee plantations (a popular addition to most of the tours we found), a cycling tour through the local villages, followed by a delicious lunch in one of the rice fields. Our tour guide, Kadek was absolutely amazing. He really wants everyone to have a good time. The bike tour is beautiful and all downhill for those nervous about the level of difficulty. We literally never pedaled. I highly recommend this company for a cycling tour in Ubud.
Had a really nice afternoon with our guide Made (or Kadek). While cycling, we stopped at several (beautiful) spots between the paddy fields and received explanations and had a delicious lunch at the end. Made, thank you for this wonderful experience!
A wonderful experience. August our guide gave us a lot of information. It was quite a journey where you see a lot of ordinary life outside the city. You keep going downhill so pedaling hard is hardly there. It is highly recommended!!! Amara Bali family thank you 😊
A very nice tour. Starting with rice fields that you can walk through. Then visited coffee plantation where you can taste everything. At the end we were dropped off to get on our bikes. In between you see many rice fields and beautiful villages. The guy who joined our tour was super friendly and told a lot of the area. Have ended with a local lunch, this one was very good.
