Ubud Vw Safari Bali Tour - Volkswagen Classic Car Trip

A fun day out. Our driver was very friendly and jovial and we loved being driven around in a cool car. I would say though that it’s more a driver and car than a tour guide. We got driven to the sights and then left to our own devices with no direction or history of the places. Overall I wish we had just hired a driver for the day locally as it would have been much cheaper for the same experience and most of the places we went had a very low, or free entrance fee, so very hard to justify the $220 fee (for two of us). The driver was lovely though and we had a nice lunch and was fun, but wouldn’t necessarily recommend it to others.

We booked the Ubud VW Private Tour, and it was such a fun and relaxing way to explore Ubud! My husband and I were picked up right from our hotel and visited the Tegalalang Rice Terrace, a waterfall, the Monkey Sanctuary, and the Ubud Market. All entrance fees were included, which made everything seamless. There were optional extras like the Bali swings and ziplining at the rice terrace for an additional cost. Lunch was also included at a beautiful restaurant with scenic views, and it ended up being some of the best food we had during our entire trip. Our driver was very kind and accommodating, letting us spend as much time as we wanted at each stop, which made the day feel relaxed and unrushed. Just note that this experience is more of a private driver tour than a guided tour — the driver doesn’t provide commentary but handles all logistics perfectly. Overall, a smooth, enjoyable day and a great way to see Ubud’s highlights at your own pace!

We had an excellent time! Special thanks to Dewa our driver, he was great fun. We had lots of rain to start but Dewa was well prepared and it was actually all part of the experience. The car does have a roof so we did not get soaked. Once the sun came out the roof came down and we got to enjoy the cool breeze and scenic views. The stops were brilliant with lots to see and explore. If you want to see lots of items on your list in one easy day then this is ideal. Would definitely recommend.

What an awesome day, nothing beats cruising through the hills of Ubud in a classic VW with the top down. Our driver Ari did a fantastic job, nothing was too much trouble for him and he was great to talk to and very knowledgeable about the area. Will definitely be doing this again.

What an amazing day out with our main guy Roger. The fantastic Roger Moore lol was absolutely brilliant, from accommodating our adjusted plans, to giving tips on shopping areas and to be our fantastic photographer. He was just brilliant. He drove safely navigating the tipsy turvy roads of Ubud, we felt safe at all time. A highly recommended tour . The car was obviously ace as well

The waterfall and the incredible views abd swing out over the rice paddies. Ketut our tour guide was very knowledgeable and even though we got caught in a huge downpour we still had a fun day

We had the best time with our guide, Putu! We did this tour early in our stay in Bali and we saw so many memorable things in one day while still enjoying the breeze while we drove and not feeling rushed! Putu had excellent communication when dropping off at each stop and it was always easy to meet him wherever we were via WhatsApp to go to the next stop. We enjoyed having the convertible top on during the heat of the day but took it down as evening approached. The spot he picked for lunch was great with views that couldn’t be beat! So friendly, accommodating and professional- a top notch experience! We are so grateful to have used this company!

We went on a custom tour with the most amazing tour guide: Santano. He knew so much about the island and brought us to more known places and less known places. He also offers to take pictures of you at the right places. We were sad that we couldn’t do another trip with him, because we were out of days in Ubud. But we most definitely recommend this tour! Also the cars look really cool 😎

He toured us around Ubud, showed us the highlights and gave great tips and explanation on all the stops. We definitely recommend this tour with Ketut!

The tour was really fun, luckily the weather was on my side is the morning. My guide, Eddie, was really kind and took such great photos for me. Will definitely do this again in Ubud.

Edy was my driver and he picked me up promptly at 8am from my hotel, as stated in the booking. He was super helpful with guiding me around, pointing out interesting facts, responding to my questions about Balinese culture, and suggesting non-touristy places to stop for silver, a coffee tasting, and Batik. As I was traveling alone, he offered to take photos of me at the various places where we stopped. Having everything included (admissions + lunch) made it super convenient and I didn't need to carry a ton of cash with me (both the silver and coffee tasting place took credit cards!). I would highly recommend this unique way to see Bali (it's definitely a head turner and conversation starter!). I loved every stop on the tour - from the waterfall to the rice paddies to the Monkey Forest.
