Ubud Tour - Balinese Healing By Shaman And Self Purification

I looked for a good solo tour for a long time to meet my needs, this is a great day full of healing and water temple Melukat, thrown in with the popular rice field terraces. Yande was my guide and was friendly and very informative and helpful, a great person to spend the day with.

De Putro offered a wide range of information. From the local area, to roadside decorations, festivals both past and upcoming. Most importantly De Putro offered guidance on the self-cleansing ritual. This made it feel less like sightseeing and more of being immersed in the Balinese culture. I'm very happy with our trip to the heart of Bali.

We had an amazing experience with Putro. He arrived early to our villa and parked right outside our door which was not easy to access. He greeted us with a friendly smile and detailed our itinerary for the day even allowing us to edit, change, and omit things. We started with a visit to the shamanic home where we had a massage and holy water experience that was incredible. We then went to the traditional jewelry shop followed by a beautiful temple where Putro gave us a tour and took beautiful photos for us. Next we went to the coffee and tea plantation where we tried 14 different coffee and tea samples which we thoroughly enjoyed. We ended the day with the water purification temple which was truly an incredibly healing experience that went beyond our expectations before we finished with a tasty traditional lunch. Big thank you to Putro for being such a great and friendly guide!

The Balinese healing and purification was such a unique and beautiful experience that Yande and his team provided to us. We were picked up from the hotel at our scheduled time; no delays or anything and we first made our way to the shaman healing. This process was an eye opening experience, as the shaman spends personal time with you and by touching certain areas, they were able to identify problem spots and tell us a little about our lives (without you mentioning anything). We were next briefly taken to a temple where we are able to where traditional sarongs and take photos. Yande was able to describe in good detail what the temple represented. Lastly, we were taken to the water purification ceremony, where again we were in traditional garments (and took a dip in the water, to cleanse and purify ourselves). The ceremony itself was beautiful and deepened our knowledge of Balinese culture. Overall this was a fantastic experience and I recommend Yande and his team!

From start to finish couldn’t fault it yande our driver is such a happy helpful guy assisted us when we needed very polite man car was spotless and his English is fantastic the healer and the rice fields view amazing but the temple experience is something else the blessing and the holy water was truely a wonderful experience

Had a chance to experience a bit of the spiritual side of Bali by participating in Balinese shaman healing ritual and purification ceremony. I learned a lot about the culture and people through our tour incredible tour guides (Yande Arta and team). They took the time to explain everything in detail. Great team and had a great time.

This experience was 10/10. First, Yande (our driver and guide) was AMAZING! He picked us up on time, was very friendly and funny but also very knowledgable about the country. He brought us to the healers house which was an incredible experience! We then went to the silver making factory and he was so patient waiting for us to buy our items. We then headed to the rice terraces, he took great pics and told us all about the process of the rice. Lastly we went to the healing water temple which was so spiritual and beautiful. We had an amazing whole day experience with De Putro. He drove us around his comfortable car all around Ubud including stops to an art gallery, wood carver, old temple and silver factory. The highlight was the Shaman healing and the purification ceremony which De Putro explained everything throughout and took amazing pictures. The tour was well organized and everything was included so we did not have any hassles. We recommend De Putro and this tour!

I was on my own, and from the moment I sat up front with Yande, it felt like a good friend was driving me around Bali—not a scripted tour. He was an absolute delight: curious, thoughtful, and incredibly generous with his knowledge. I asked a lot of questions (Hinduism, architecture, family life, school, customs), and he answered every one with patience and enthusiasm. Our first stop was a traditional healer. Yande explained the family compound and Balinese customs in a way that made everything feel meaningful rather than touristy. The highlight of the entire day was the self-purification ritual. He taught me the prayers, explained the offering bowl, and literally held my hand to guide me safely into the pools. That kind of care and cultural context made the experience deeply enriching and unforgettable. Our last stop was the rice terraces. I believe in doing the thing you’re supposed to do in the place you’re supposed to do it—so I splurged on the swing. Turns out, I get very motion sick. I was lightheaded afterward, and without hesitation, Yande got me water, then stopped in the next village to buy me a Coke and a Fresh Care aromatherapy roller. Within minutes, I felt better. Problem solved, calmly and kindly. All day, Yande went above and beyond. He was attentive without hovering, knowledgeable without lecturing, and genuinely kind. It truly felt like being shown around by a friend, not a guide checking boxes. I’m so grateful for his hospitality and would recommend him without hesitation.

My mom and I went to Bali for my birthday trip! Wow!! We had Yande as our private tour guide, and he made the tour extra special!! Even though we loved everything about the tour, our favorite part was having private time with the community Shaman. We never felt rushed during our tour, and we laughed with Yande the entire time. I did this private spiritual tour today with De Putro as my driver and guide and it was incredible. He customised the whole day for me as a solo traveller, took amazing photos, explained everything clearly, and timed each stop perfectly so it was never too busy. The cleansing and purification at Mengening Temple was such a special experience. I felt supported through every step and left feeling energised, cleansed and balanced. The visit to the healer’s house in Batuan village was also powerful, with massage, Yagna healing and mantra healing that lifted my energy and cleared my mind. Highly recommend this tour and especially De Putro. Brilliant experience from start to finish ❤️

Great spiritual/cultural tour day with Jana! Shaman healing was a moving and enlightening experience, and she was accurate about many of my health issues. Tour of Batuan Temple and Jana explained the significance and preparation that was taking place for festival the following day. Coffee and tea plantation tour was great, sampled many different types of beverages and tried luwark coffee. Jana took me to a wurung on a quiet rice field to try Babi Guling (yummy!) And then he talked me through the many steps of a Melkat water cleansing at Mengening Temple. That was such a lovely and moving experience 🙏💓 Finally a wander through the rice fields. I didn't want to do the many swings for Insta pics or another long walk, so we just sat and chatted about the Balinese way of life. It was a lovely day and many thanks to Jana for being such a wonderful guide 🙏🌸

What a wonderful experience! We went from 8am until 8pm at night and explored everywhere! Our driver/guide Putro was so friendly and helpful. It really makes the trip special when you have a good guide and Putro was amazing! He took us to so many good places and was seriously so good at taking pictures! Going to the water purification temple was so beautiful as was the Shamans house. The energy at each place felt authentic and full of Balinese love and beauty. We will definitely be back and have Putro take us around again!

Yande was an excellent driver, was very knowledgeable about the temple and culture, very friendly, spoke very good English (easy to communicate with), he was accommodating to our requests and let us customize the tour experience to our liking. Also, took us to a Water Temple that was not busy at all, some of the others we saw from the road had dozens of buses and people everywhere. He went to extremes to make our tour private and special.

De Putro was such a wonderful guide and an amazing photographer. When the shaman had to be rescheduled and he learned I was leaving the next day, he called his friends to find someone who wasn’t busy with the festival so I could still have the full experience. I’m so thankful for that. He was knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and made the whole day really lovely and enjoyable. He’s also a very safe driver, always paying attention on the road and honking before going around bends to keep everyone safe. I felt completely taken care of and would recommend him to anyone. This was the highlight of my time in Ubud. Thank you, De Putro, for everything!

Such an awesome trip! Our driver MADE SUTAMA made this experience so much better! Not only was he friendly and knowledgeable, but he took the time to explain the traditional ways and history to us. He sent a lovely follow up message post the trip which was very heart warming and provided a suggestion on where to go for a service I inquired about. The springs itself was very refreshing and the Shaman was lovely and I felt lighter after going to see her.
