Was a great experience and opportunity to learn more about the monkeys and the people of the area. Our guide Rama was amazing!

Booked via trip advisor. Not sure why they call it a skip the line pass but the guide communicated extremely well via whats app and got tix for us. Moneky forest was lovely we learned a lot about hindu practices and had someone to explain what we were looking at. Guide also brought us water and was kind. Would not have enjoyed activity as much without a guide. Would definitely recommend!
We really enjoyed visiting the monkey forest. The atmosphere was lovely. Unfortunately our guide Rama was 25 minutes late and then had to queue to get tickets. He was knowledgeable and gentle however we were disappointed the tour only lasted 45 minutes as he had another group waiting. We continued to explore the forest for another hour and discovered areas we had not been to on the tour. Recommend getting there for opening as it gets busy quickly!
We really enjoyed the monkey forest. It was nice to see the monkeys especially at feeding time. They were not aggressive as long as you were calm around them and didn't provoke them. Our guide Rama was fantastic. He explained everything very well and took us to a few extra locations afterwards.
Rama was a lovely guide :) His WhatsApp is +62 877‑0288‑3134 if you plan on connecting with him, I’m pretty sure he also does other kinds of tours. The monkey forest itself was great as well. The monkeys are vaccinated, well fed, and cared for
Visiting the Sacred Monkey Forest was a highlight of our trip, largely thanks to our incredible guide, Buda. He was extremely friendly, welcoming, and brought so many laughs to the tour while navigating the hilarious "monkey business" around us. Buda is incredibly knowledgeable—not just about the monkeys themselves, but also about Hinduism and Balinese culture, which gave us a much deeper appreciation for the space. He also made sure we felt completely safe, clearly explaining the do’s and don’ts of interacting with the monkeys right from the start. Honestly, without a guide, we would have missed or overlooked so many beautiful parts of the forest and temples. Do yourself a favor and book a tour with Buda! 5 stars all the way.
Majha our guide made contact 30 mins before our tour, which is always appreciated. He took us through the Monkey Forest explain the significance of the statues that greeted us and the temples. It was interesting to learn about the monkey factions/tribes and how they don't always get on and are quite territorial. I think a guided tour is something not to pass up if you don't want to pass up.
My sister and I made a last-minute decision to take this tour with Ryan. Very glad we did. We learned a lot about the sanctuary and the monkeys, but also learned a ton about Hinduism and the three temples within the sanctuary. Ryan answered all of our questions, went at a sedate pace, and was very kind and welcoming. Plus, a monkey briefly jumped on our shoulders, which was a highlight as well.
Ryan, our guide, was timely and very communicative before the tour started! He was incredibly knowledgeable about Bali, the culture, and the monkey forest. Great start to our trip.
Great service from Ryan. He reached out prior to our tour and went out of his way to make us feel welcome. He is such a kind and knowledgeable young man, and I'd gladly recommend him to anyone looking to visit Ubud.
Our guide was, friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about his subject. The monkeys are amazing creatures, just respect their space. The park is serene and majestic.
Our tour guide Guna was fabulous. We learnt a lot, history and traditions. The monkey forest was great. We visited a traditional home. Rice fields and water fall. Lunch was included and was very nice.
we had a great experience with ‘rama’ (not sure if that’s right) and his guided tour through the monkey forest. for us, it was very helpful to be able to ask questions about the forest and the monkeys. His service and attentiveness was second to none, thankyou Rama!
An unforgettable experience ! Absolutely loved it . The monkeys roam around freely with no restrictions on where they can go ( including out of the forest area altogether! They seem very well looked after Our guide Ryan was polite friendly and very knowledgeable .He answered all our questions however stupid they may of been 😁 Cannot recommend enough … thank you !
Incredible experience - we ended up detouring to Sangeh monkey forest instead so that the kids could have more contact with monkeys and feed them - our tour guide was amazing and so friendly and accommodating, allowing us to stop for lunch etc
Rama was an amazing guide. We really enjoyed having him give us a tour and taking photos of us. He gave us a lot of history of the area. Thanks Rama!
Monkeys everywhere. They are little thieves so hide your belongings. I watched a female monkey chase a guy who ran screaming! lol If you are still and observant they leave you alone. They are monkeys and like to have fun, but harmless.
The Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary in Ubud is one of those experiences that feels equal parts enchanting and adventurous. Walking through the lush jungle pathways surrounded by towering banyan trees, moss-covered statues, and ancient temples truly feels like stepping into another world. Of course, the main stars are the mischievous monkeys! They roam freely and aren’t shy about getting close. It’s fun to watch their playful antics, but it’s best to keep your belongings tucked away—anything from sunglasses to snacks can be fair game for these curious little residents. What I loved most is how the sanctuary blends culture, nature, and wildlife so beautifully. The staff are attentive, making sure both visitors and monkeys are safe. Tips: Don’t carry food in your hands or bags. Keep a respectful distance, and avoid making direct eye contact with the monkeys. Go early in the morning for fewer crowds and a calmer atmosphere. Overall, it’s a must-visit in Ubud—equal parts serene, cultural, and just the right amount of wild.
I took a solo trip to the monkey forest. I had a guide Rama, who was the sweetest! I’m so glad I had someone to show me around and give me insight to the forest and the monkeys. It made it so much more meaningful hearing the history rather than walking around alone. Also he was great with monkey knowledge and took epic pictures of the monkeys and I. Which I wouldn’t have gotten alone. Thank you Rama! Please go to the monkey forest! It’s a dreamy place!
I got the most out of my monkey forest visit because my guide was so awesome! He knew all about the monkeys and the history of the park and bikes. I held a little monkey and made friends with a big chungus. Also, we went on a Sunday and got to see the frog dance across from the temple. Did I mention our guide was super cool? 10/10 will hang out with Yuda again.
This was an amazing experience, Lesmana whom drove us there was fantastic - he made the trip really a personable, fun and informative trip.
No one turned up and ticket was not valid , have been told it was a scam and been told to buy another ticket on the spot. Please don’t book this ticket online and buy ticket when you arrive the monkey Forrest reception
Tour guide was super nice and helpful. The forest was beautiful and he allowed us to add on the coffee tour for $3 and even drove us there! Agus your awesome
Ryan our guide was great. Really friendly and had a lot of knowledge about monkey forest and all around Bali. He took some amazing photos of my partner and I also. Monkeys are really cool and they are everywhere!
Good tour, informative and fun. Wouldn’t say it was skipping any line at all, but we had a good guide who made the experience better than just walking randomly around the forest.
It was a really nice experience for me to see for the first time monkeys in their natural environment. The guide (Ryan) is a very interesting guy who takes time to show and explain me the history and their cultures. I recommend it 😌🙏🏾
Our tour guide was Agus. He was very attentive and gave good facts about the monkeys and also the Bali culture. Would really recommend booking him, he’s very kind and helpful.
Ryan was an excellent guide around the Sacred Monkey Sanctuary. He was very knowledgable about the area, took me around the best route and captured some great photographs!
We really enjoyed the tour! Our tour guide names Bagus was amazing. He taught us so much about Balinese culture and took us through the monkey tour. He also took us to a silver factory after! We definitely recommend this tour!!!
Amazing time!! I learned a lot from Rama!! He helped me be safe with the moneys while enjoying the experience!! I couldn’t have asked for a better guide!
Great visit to the forest, and the driver was very friendly, but there was no guided tour and entrance ticket is not included in the price. You’re basically just overpaying for a pick-up and drop-off to the monkey forest.
We did the tour with Rama. Rama was an excellent guide who knew lots of information to share. He made us feel very safe, especially I was quite nervous about the monkeys. I would definitely recommend going with Rama!
Had a great time visiting the monkey sanctuary. My guide Rama was super helpful and knowledgeable, and explained a lot about Bali philosophy when we got to the temples. Definitely recommend.
An amazing jungle setting with more than 1000 monkeys who interacted with us humans in the most peculiar ways. Our guide was very nice and did all he could to make sure we had a great experience. Only downside is the fact that it is a tourist magnet (and yes I am of course part of that equation) so that numbs the uniqueness of the experience a bit, but definitely worth one’s time and I recommend having a guide accompanying you.
Very good experience ketut Udi Dr, had a lot of knowledge and answered any questions asked. Be careful and make sure to wear appropriate clothing.
Well worth taking this tour with Rama. He collects the tickets on your behalf so there is no queuing necessary. Rama is knowledgeable and guides you through the forest taking photos along the way. We all really enjoyed this tour! Thanks Rama!
Nice friendly staff. I traveled alone & they were like my camera man. Book with them. On time , great conversation & very helpful
Rama did an amazing job of showing us the main bits of the monkey forest! Thanks so much for sharing a piece of your culture with us.
Sana was the best guide I’ve ever experienced! I wish I could have him for everything. His English was great! His knowledge and everything he shared around Balinese culture was very enlightening. He is very in tune with his country and culture and I loved hearing his perspective and what he valued. I would recommend him to everyone. He even dropped off some of his mums homemade incense to my hostel later that afternoon and said if I have any questions around temples/attractions I visit, to just send him a text and he’d reply. So kind!
Good experience and knowledge regarding bali cultura and monkey forest activities. Provide about Monkey , trees, everything about bali. Its details. Thanks to my tour guide from Lovina Tour for your knowledge about bali .
Sana was the best guide! He gave me a lot of information about the traditions and philosophy of Balinese people, while walking around and watching monkeys. And he answered all of my questions with so much enthusiasm and pride! I highly recommend this tour.
We had an amazing experience visiting this beautiful location. The monkeys were so cute and being up close was a once in a lifetime experience. Our tour guide Sana did a great job explaining everything and taking care of us.

Lovely trip-mostly because our guide Made was the absolute best. Thank you Made, you are the most patient and kind person <3
Very nice experience to do at the end of the day because we avoided the crowds and it was also nicer out
relatively interesting. See the monkeys at ease with touring visitors. But it's nothing special.
Super nice guide with affordable English. Very interesting stories. Quiet visit within the monkeys. Very good time.
Beautiful guided tour of the Monkey Forest Sanctuary. Professional guide and very friendly. No danger if we don't touch the monkeys. I highly recommend!
