The first one and half hours you will spend in the classroom in Freedive Nusa Freediving School learning basic theoretical and practical aspects of breath-hold diving. Then you will go in the water and practice your new skills on the rich beautiful home reef right in front of the school. The experience which you will get during the course will make you much more confident in the ocean and will give you much more freedom during swimming and snorkeling.
Did the one day try freediving here and it was amazing! Great introduction to the sport and managed to learn many things that I didn't expect going into this. Thanks to Roberto who was my instructor who opened my eyes to what freediving was about. Totally glad that I decided to try this out! :)
Highly informative, great facilities and caring staff. We all went out to see the Mantas and our guide made us feel very safe. The care factor for the Mantas well being was also at the forefront. This should be seriously considered when booking a tour in this area because not everyone shares the same mentality
Wow, wow, wow - what an awesome introduction to free diving for me and my 8 year old daughter. Our instructor Chiarra was amazing, so experienced and calm with us beginners. I can’t wait to come back🤿🤿🤿
I have joined Freedive Nusa for Komodo trip as well as have done Wave 1 and 2 course with them. They are incredible at every single step of organising beautiful experiences during each day of our trip. The itinerary was planned very well, we saw the best places (even those that other tours don’t take you) and had time to rest in between. The food was fantastic on the boat. I didn’t train after Wave 1 course, but it was very easy for me to complete Wave 2 course due to the team providing me support on each step, setting me up for success with clear guidance and constantly providing feedback how to improve my performance. If I continue my free diving training, I will definitely be back to this school as they are truly unique and care for all their students. There are no better place in Indonesia to learn free diving or enhance your shills.
Best freedive school ever. Kirill knows the best spots in Nusa Penida and Komodo. I was wonder and amazed in Komodo freediving trip with him. Highly recommended. Also i would recommend to try freediving for those who afraid of wave. There is special course for surfers who would like to be more productive while surfing and be more patient in wipeouts.
Instructors were very knowledgeable and friendly, and the reef we dove on the last day was DIVINE! Highly recommend this school!
Heiko was a great instructor. We felt safe at all times and really enjoyed learning how to free dive as a totally different way to be underwater. School grounds were well-kept and very pleasant and all the stuff we encountered were friendly and professional. Thanks Free Dive Nusa!

This was my first freedive course and I felt very welcomed. Heiko was my instructor, I immediately felt comfortable as he is a very calm and competent freediver with great knowledge. I stayed in a basic homestead next door which was run by a lovely local couple. My experience at Nusa freedive was great:)

I honestly didn't know much about freediving before but I really wanted to try something out of my comfort zone (I'm quite scared of the "Deep Blue" ) So far I have been here one month and a few weeks as I have had trouble equalising head first. Every single team member has been so incredibly patient with me and I am now able to reach 10-15m. The entire experience has pushed my limits mentally and physically and I could not be happier! Very much looking forward to making freediving a long term hobby and revisiting Kirill, Yana and Vera very soon.
Very interesting activity, which helps to discover your physical and mental capabilities. Cool school with cool people who teach this activity well. Highly recommend to try to master at least one Molchanovs Wave
My girlfriend has wanted to do this for a long time, I wasn't sure how well I would do but all my concerns were blown away as soon as we started. Emily made us very comfortable trying something new and it was amazing how much we learned and picked up in just two and a half days! From start to finish it was an experience I tell everyone they have to try, thanks guys!
I rarely write reviews, but had a great experience, and since I read so many myself, need to help others out too! So, I wanted a professional and safe freediving school for my Level 1 course, but also with a cool and chilled vibe, and that is exactly what I got! Emily was my instructor, and I really recommend her. She is extremely knowledgeable, resourceful, and enthusiastic. She guided me throughout all areas in a calm and reassuring way. I went from holding my breath from 1min to then 3min40 in the same afternoon, after her clear and reassuring explanations and demonstrations. In the water, even though I had issues equalising and getting deeper, so she tailored the sessions to suit my needs and to get the best outcome of each session and ultimately the course. I am extremely happy to have done this course in this school, and with Emily's help. This very different experience has already helped me on my scuba diving air consumption, which has dramatically decreased!:) Can only recommend this school to you if you are looking for a professional, safe but also chilled freediving experience!

I spend almost 3 weeks to complete the funniest, intense and craziest Instructor course ever! I had the chance to do it with Kirill :) and I had 2 others unforgettable buddies ( Lin and Vera). We start as colleague and we finished the course as a family ! Thank you for everything ! Location: The set up at Freedive Nusa is just perfect. Open rooms, clean equipments, swimming pool. The location is excellent for all the lazy person like me, just across the road from the sea (less than 1min). Hotel and restaurant: nearby (in 4 minutes you are at Penida Colada the best spot ever to eat and read your course) Course: Instructor extremely professional and knowledgeable about Freediving. Theory and practice are done in a logical manner. The teaching ambiance is just Unique ! Bonus: After each Open-water session, you have the chance to end the session with time to dive on the house reef which is just magical. I see 2 turtle and incredible marine life there. The color are beautiful. BONUS2: They organize TRIPS around Bali at Raj Ampat, Komodo and more ! Can’t wait to meet you again
I did the L1 freediving course which was a brilliant experience. The site was great even though it was rainy season (Jan). My instructor, Tim, was really encouraging and easy-going, but I could learn a lot from his as well. I would definitely recommend to beginners and more advanced freedivers too.
I did a beginner level course with Artur. He was so kind, patient and encouraging. Nothing was a problem. I now feel far more confident underwater. I honestly didn’t think I would be able to do it. But with Artur’s support, the impossible was attainable. I am able to take the skills I have learnt here and apply them to many other things that benefit with good breath work, relaxation and courage. Thanks so much Artur and team 👌😁❤️
Great school freediving and not limited to this. I gad a pleasure to work on skills with Emily who is simply great and it was a massive eye opening about the sport for me ...I have learned a lot in a really nice comfortable friendly way. I met Artur who is also great professional calm knowledgable instructor looked after us all on manta trip and I have seen him instructing in open water next to us. All was great. I am coming back
I was lucky to do SSI 1 with Emily, who is an amazing teacher/trainer and freediver herself. The course was well structured, the days were fun and flowed well. Open water sessions were done safely and under direct supervision. Groups are small so that you get 1-to-1 time with instructors. Good quality equiptment. The actual school is soooo nice and super chilled (with cute resident dog and gato). My first course went so well that I ended up extending my stay in Nusa so I could do SSI 2. After a week i managed to go down 30m depth (PB), improved my technique (started out with lots of bad self-taught habits) and finished off feeling way more confident. I cant recommend these guys enough! I saw first hand how Emily and Artur trained and introduced people to freediving. Divers that had completed courses but had never been taught how to equalize - Emily took the time to find different ways to teach them. Manta trip and the batcave was a highlight. They always try to end sessions with snorkeling on the reef. Would love to come back and train here again. They have the perfect setup in Penida. All the locals love them as well. Thanks team!!
I loved my experience getting my SSU freediving level 1 certification. I'd actually done this certification before at a world renowned school in Central America but I decided to do it again as I have issues with equalisation. I got so much more out of this course taught by our amazing instructor Heiko. We got two full days of training in which we covered so much including 4 practical sessions, 2 in the pool and 2 in the open water. I loved getting to practice things I was never shown on my first course, like a static breath hold and an introduction to the dynamic discipline. Heiko was extremely knowledgable, patient and supportive. I really felt like we each got such a tailored experienced. He treated us each as individuals and our training was adjusted our needs and abilities. It really helped us get the most out of every dive and have the best experience. Thank you to Heiko and the team.
We will never forget our first dives with the team at Freedive Nusa! More than just a school, we really felt like we found a small family on Nusa Penida. Kirill, Artur, Emily and Heiko are great and welcoming people, and create an awesome atmosphere at Freedive Nusa, which just makes you want to hang out, and gravitate around the school. In addition to that, they also are amazing and experienced instructors, which made us perform beyond our expectations, without it ever feeling unsafe, pushed, or rushed. I enjoyed this friendly and professional freediving school. I have done many deep apnea trainings safely. We made a trip to Manta Point, we were able to enjoy before the other boats arrived. We made a trip to Komodo, it was beautiful and very well organized. I will return with great pleasure to dive and participate in other trips!

Freediving Nusa is notable primarily for its good organization and professional instructors, with whom diving is safe and brings progress. It is especially convenient and good that the school has all the equipment and the student only needs to come and not waste on fins and a wetsuit if he is trying for the first time. It is also convenient for experienced freedivers - you do not need to lead to the end of the world fins, which do not enter every suitcase. I dived off the boat the first time and was worried about drifting, but it turned out to be completely invisible and safe. I'd like to add that I'm a "complex patient" and I need some thoughtful and sensitive teachers, and I got them here. In general, the approach here is individual and all instructors are good at finding an approach to their students based on their temperament and skills. Separately I want to celebrate the coziness and beauty of the most "ground" school. It's very nice to be here, and there's everything you need for comfort: showers, towels, where to leave things, where to stretch, where to get some privacy for a dive mood. If in doubt and you think you're not ready - just come and try, don't think! This new world opened up is worth it!
