Sunset Jimbaran Dinner With Beach View

We have been to Bali numerous times, beginning in 1975, staying mainly in the Kuta/Sanur/Legian area, as well as in Denpasar. While there have obviously been many changes since the 1970s we found this last time that the area has become simply too built up and congested. We hired a car and driver on four occasions to make day trips to the island's central mountain area and found that each time it took us over one hour just to travel through the Kuta/Denpasar/Sanur area and even after reaching more open country we frequently ended up in slow moving queues, especially when passing close to Ubud, which is itself extremely congested. Moreover, there are now so many buildings along the more major roads that the still beautiful countryside is seldom visible. This will orobably have been our last visit to Bali.
