Silver Making Jewelry Class In Ubud With Optional Hotel Transfers

One of Bali’s most authentic experiences was found not in a tourist attraction, but inside a Balinese family home. At Jawan Silver Class, we discovered a craft passed from father to family, generations of knowledge, patience and skill now shared with visitors. Sitting together in their home and creating our own silver jewellery felt personal, genuine and far removed from a commercial workshop. Our driver, Dastra, was warm, reliable and made the experience even more enjoyable. We left with more than handmade jewellery we left carrying a small piece of a Balinese family story.

First of all, I have to split the review into 2 parts to be fair. The silver jewellery workshop was excellent. The host and his family were super kind and patient to teach me. In the end I made two rings from design to finish in 2 hours. It was incredible! However, the booking company contact wasn’t that responsive and nice. I booked my time at 9am and he messaged me if I can go earlier. I told him I had to prepare for check out that morning, so I couldn’t go earlier than this. Then he totally disappeared, no response on the message conversation. At around 11pm at night before the trip, then he finally said it’s confirmed. This is not a responsible way to let customers hang in the air and not sure if the trip is good to go ahead. Also, although the driver was very kind and good at driving, but the pics he helped me take were out of focus, mostly because he couldn’t see the screen clearly. This one was really by luck if driver has good eyes or not. I’d definitely do the workshop with this jeweller again but not with this tour company because of the bad customer experience.

We loved the silver making class in Ubud! The operators are a family owned business and were very patient and provided clear explanations of the entire process. They were also really Helpful with getting our ring designs created and made just to our liking. Also special shout out to our driver Guna who was a delight to chat with!

Such great fun and would highly recommend. You can design your own jewellery or make something shown in a book of theirs. We got to make earrings, a pendant and a ring between the two of us. The ring was more involved due to the design I chose hence why I only make one item but that was my choice. We were offered coffee and tea, water and also had a wrapped pancake with coconut. Sorry i complete forgot the proper name for this but it was delicious. The class was very personal we were picked up by a driver and taken to the village. Other than a two other people whom had their own instructor it was just us. Would highly recommend to spend a few hours in the morning.

Booking is so easy via Viator! We were picked up by our driver Ketut and taken to the Class. We were both expecting to be shown how the silver is melted and made into workable pieces before starting our very own. However, this was not the case. Despite the class not meeting our expectations, the staff were friendly and were on hand to help. I would recommend having a design in mind prior to attending the class so that you can start your piece straight away. The class says it is 3-4 hours. We spent only 50 minutes making 2 pieces.

The craftsmanship of the workers and the experience was next to nothing I’ve ever experienced before. It was such an amazing time. We all got to make numerous rings and had some refreshing snacks. It was a very informative experience and a lot goes into silver making.

It was so great, It was just me for this class and I feel very grateful for she teach me the all process and it was so interesting to see all the steps to follow. In a beautiful and peaceful environment as well. Thank you so much 🥰

Loved the whole experience - well explained and lots of design options. The process was quicker than we anticipated so we made extra pieces, although there was an extra cost for these.

We would definitely recommend this place. They arranged pick up at our first hotel in ubud and drop off at our next hotel in uluwatu. The class was very personal with good guidance and freedom. With 10 grams of silver, you can do much more than with 5. We really liked our earrings and rings! Loved it!!

Sudi provided us with an exceptional tour experience. He was knowledgeable, friendly and very handy with our cell camera. He provided detail when asked and knew exactly where we should go at each itinerary stop. He gave us exactly what we asked for and offered extra ideas too. We have no hesitation in highly recommending Sudi.

We came to the location, the explanation was very good, there were various designs you could make, ring or pendant. We chose a bracelet. You had to pay for all the extra silver. You get 5 grams inclusive.
