Uluwatu Temple is closely related with a Holyman named Mpu Kuturan who come to Bali island in the year 1039 AD, and in the time there were few Cults founded in Bali, all of them live in harmony and tolerated each other.Then by him unify all cults become Tri Murti concepts. And on his spiritual journey, which at the time he builts 17 temples and one of them is Uluwatu temple.
Kecak Dance is played by about 50 men by shouting the words CHAK, and the theme story that they played taken from history of Ramayana. Which tells about the journey of Sri Rama is an incarnation of the God with his brother Laksmana to liberate his wife Sita, who was kidnapped by Rahwana the king of Alengkapura.
Along the Jimbaran to Kedonganan Beach there are many cafes operated by local people. It is something like night markets where visitors can choose a wide range of seafoods. Nearly all cafes provide special seafood menus with local recipes or combination with the western one. Fish is supplied by a nearby fishermen village at Kedonganan.
Due to roadworks, it was a looong drive from our accommodation, but our two girls loved our guide Nagura Naya and the show so all worth it! Beautiful (if very crowded) location and costumes. Only comment is that there are too many tickets sold and people constantly being shuffled/squashed in was distracting from the show and affected the ambience.

Our tour guide Mur was very friendly, and took care of us in navigating the Balinese landscape. He knew exactly what to do when a monkey took my friends hat off of his head, and did not hesitate to attempt to get it back. Get the all Inclusive package for a delicious beach dinner (there were fireworks and music on the night we went) at the end of the tour.
Suta was an incredible guide! He was efficient, punctual, and accommodating. He is friendly and gave a worthwhile experience which me, my daughter, and sisters enjoyed. The slingshot was thoughtful. Thank you, Suta!

I have not been to Bali for over 20 years so travelling back and worrying about safety was a big thing for me. Well booking through TripAdvisor was great. You can use PayPal also. Our driver's name was Wena he was on time and very polite. Clean car 🙂 Spoke English well that made it easier. We stayed in Sanur and he drove us to Uluwatu Temple and saw the Kecak Dance it was amazing. Wena stopped where we needed and waited leaving our belongings in the car. I would 100% recommend Wena for Day trips. Wena also gives great ideas on places to see. Wena walks you up to where you need to go. Then waits for you. Also tells you all about the history while with you ! Really enjoyed it. Not having my partner with me and having a driver you can trust was great it made me relax and have fun. Very knowledgeable about Bali and Indonesia. Very good and clear English. Showed us around Uluwatu tenole and explained the history in just right level of details. My guide was absolutely amazing! Mur went above and beyond. He made sure I had all the information about where I was going and things to be aware of. He was very knowledgeable about the Temple and was able to answer all the questions. After the fire show, Mur was ready to collect me and knew some places for me to eat and was able to give recommendations. As a solo traveller I wasnt sure how the experience would be, however I would recommend Mur and the Uluwatu Temple tour to anyone wanting an afternoon adventure, even solo!! Had a lovely tour last night to see the temple, monkeys and show. Our guide Irwan was very kind and I really appreciated his ability to ward off the sneaky monkeys and keep us safe. The show was incredible! I think my kids will remember it forever.
Our local tour guide Arya was great. Friendly and professional personality. We enjoyed talking to him. We had dinner part of our tour which was not satisfactory and not value of money at all. Therefore we really recommend Aryan for your local tour guide not the food packages. Thank you
Netra, our guide was excellent and we really enjoyed the Ramayana show. The seafood restaurant had dirty tablecloths and loud music so we left and ate elsewhere. Book the trip without the meal.

Booked through Viator for a day trip to Uluwatu with my husband. Our guide Widi was prompt to our pick up location and messaged via WhatsApp upon his arrival. He had a very friendly demeanor and answered all of our questions about Uluwatu Temple and addressed our concerns in regards to dealing with the monkeys we encountered. Widi kindly held my bag when taking pictures and knew the best spots for photos and where to sit at during the traditional fire dance. We were driven safely from Seminyak to Uluwatu and back. The car was well air conditioned and we were offered ice cold water. Only ding I have has nothing to do with our guide but with the location we went to for dinner on Jimbaran beach - Kampoeng Seafood. While the food and service was good I was found myself losing my appetite halfway through because I noticed a hair on my plate and in my sauce bowl. After seeing that I couldn’t eat any further. I had the seafood platter and my husband had chicken with fries and salad. He had no complaints and the overall ambiance of the restaurant was great. We were seated right on the beach and had live local entertainment.
Lovely tour of Uluwatu temple, and kecak dance. Stop for a Luwak coffee along the way. Our guide Wayan explained the sights, fended off the monkeys, and made sure we got a front row seat for the show (which is very busy). Afterwards the seafood dinner in the beach at Jimbaran beach was very nice. Overall I would recommend this tour . Wayan was an excellent guide A++

What an amazing experience and outstanding hospitality from our driver, Suta! He picked us up from our hotel, and as soon as we got into the car, he already had bottled water prepared for us. He explained where we were heading, how long the journey would take, and throughout the drive to the temple, we enjoyed a lovely conversation. At the temple, he kindly offered to take photos of us, looked out for us around the monkeys, and explained that they often jump on visitors and try to steal sunglasses or hats. Thanks to his advice, we were well prepared. Suta had also brought snacks for the monkeys, which gave me the opportunity to feed some of them. That made me very happy and added a special touch to the experience. Before we headed to the dance performance, Suta gave us two more bottles of cold water. Unfortunately, the weather was not suitable for the sunset, so we were unable to enjoy that part of the experience. Nevertheless, it was still an amazing trip. After visiting the temple, we headed to a beachfront seafood restaurant, where we enjoyed delicious food, the sound of the waves, and great music. Thank you, Suta, for your kindness and hospitality. You truly made this trip unforgettable. We highly recommend him to anyone looking for a memorable and enjoyable experience.
Great little trip down from Kuta. Wayan Arya was our guide. He was great made contact the day before, we sorted a time. On way down there we made good time he was able to get us into earlier show as well as a quick stop. Was helpful. Fire dance was worth the trip, well done to those that have to do the Kecak dance twice a nice wow.
Had an amazing evening. Everything was very enjoyable and went so smoothly. Sila knew exactly where to take us and the best spots for photos. Everything was reasonably priced for a full evening of fun. There were a lot of people but Sila maneuvered us through the crowd with ease and the view of the show was perfect for everyone. This event is best for everyone! There is something for people of all ages and backgrounds to enjoy.

The temple tour was excellent, our driver guide Ariana was very skilled at keeping the monkeys away. He was very informative and made sure we had great seats for the fire dance show. A must see while in Bali. The seafood dinner was disappointing, felt like we were an inconvenience and food was mediocre.

The trip was awesome. It is worth the money. The driver we had not only was a good guide to have. You can see he is a genuine person at heart. Not only when the monkeys at the temple took my glasses. He managed to retrieve them as he was well prepared with bribes for the monkeys. He also helped others that were not part of his tour. Then dance show was awesome. And the evening finished off with a seafood dinner on the beach.
Picked up at 3 for the show starting at 6 but needed the extra time due to the length of journey. The guide was super helpful especially when advising of the monkeys at the temple, watch glasses and phones and keep them safe in a bag. The show was funny and great. The seats are very uncomfortable so if you can take something to sit on. The seafood afterwards was ao delicious. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening

We were picked up at 3 for a show at 6. However it was quite a long drive to the temple. We got their and were warned by our guide about the monkeys, taking whatever they could. Described as naughtier monkeys than Ubud!! We say several unlucky people have sunglasses and other items taken and destroyed. The views from up near the temple to the sea were stunning. Then it was time for the show. I cannot lie the seats were uncomfortable as just wooden seats with no back, as I have hip issues I could have done with sitting on the bottom row so my hip was not bent too much. The show was great, funny in places and you gained a general understanding of it but they give you a synopsis of the show before you go in with a small bottle of water. After the show our driver took us to a seafront restaurant. The food was amazing and we had lobster in addition which was delicious. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Top tips make sure everything you have is in a sealed bag that monkeys cannot get to and take a cushion or something to sit on. If you have knee or hip issues sit on the bottom row so you are not over bending these joints.
Lovely evening, great driver - v. helpful. Took us straight to all the best photo spots - kept the monkeys away from us - and took care of tickets. No queuing. And made sure we escaped before the rush. All very smooth.
This tour was great! We got awesome pictures at the temple and then saw the dancers and had a dinner on the beach! The driver was awesome, Kawi! He did the guide awesome and then took great photos of us when watching out for the crazy monkeys! Kawi thank you you were awesome!
