This was the best guided tour we did during our 3 week trip through Indonesia. Our guide Kantun was the most accommodating and personable. He took us to seven different venues over 8 hours. He let us experience each one at our own pace and gave us good insight on all of them. Beyond the purely touristic aspect, we had interesting discussions about the Balinese life and culture. We had a fantastic experience on our Mount Batur sunrise hike and hot springs tour and would highly recommend both Yande and the company. Yande was incredibly friendly, reliable, and energetic throughout the day. He got us safely to and from the mountain in the early morning hours and helped make the logistics of the day completely stress-free. Along the way, he shared interesting information about Bali and the areas we were visiting. One thing that really stood out was how proactive both Yande and the company were. They provided helpful recommendations and practical tips ahead of time—like reminding us to bring a jacket for the chilly temperatures at the summit of Mount Batur—which made the experience much more enjoyable. Those small details made a big difference. After seeing other guides throughout our trip, it was clear that Yande was one of the friendliest and most enthusiastic around. We occasionally saw other travelers having issues with their guides, which made us appreciate even more how professional and personable he was. The vehicle was reliable for the journey. While it wasn't the newest or most luxurious vehicle on the road, it was comparable to what we saw most other tour companies using and was perfectly adequate for the day. Overall, Yande and the company did an excellent job, and we had a wonderful experience from the sunrise hike through the relaxing hot springs afterward. If you're looking for a friendly, dependable driver and a well-organized Mount Batur tour, I would absolutely recommend booking with them.

Desna was on time for pickup, friendly, professional, excelent driver; which takes a lot to be in Bali :), excelent guide and well trained on the the best picture spots. He was ahead of the crowds at the gate of heaven and once we got #23 he took photos of us in the perfect spots with the sunrise and videos while we took our turn at the photos. He was courteous and thoughtful at every stop and gave us great advise to make the best of our adventure. I will recommend this tour and if you are able to the Desna, you will have a memory for a lifetime.

This experience was like nothing we had ever done before, our guide was fantastic, really friendly, very knowledgeable and just generally fantastic. We didn't get to see the sunrise because of bad weather but we still had a great time and would definitely recommend

Fantastic trip booked on Viator. Had introductory message from Leo telling us what to expect & confirm pick up from hotel reception. Very chatty and informative. Took us to meet our guide for the Trek. Was not disappointed by the the beautiful views from the top of Mt. Batur. Good fun with our guide. Lovely brekky before heading down another trail. Leo then took us to the hot springs which wsd well needed. Quick stop to try some Luwak coffee. All in all would recommend booking this 10/10.

It was a very early morning but definitely worth it! Desna had been my driver on previous tours and I was happy to have him again. He adds so much to the tour, even at 4 am! He shares so much about local Balinese culture, which for me personally adds so much to my experience. I would highly recommend this tour and Desna.

Krisda did an amazing job! Always went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and was very informative about the different areas and sites we drove past.

It was an amazing experience! Its hard going getting to the top but even though it was cloudy for us it was well worth it. We had an amazing driver Surya, who was super friendly and really made us feel at home - driving us around and pointing at local things. Also, I have to give a massive shout-out to our hiking guide Wayan!! Without him, I'm not sure I would have made it to the top! He was always there to give me a helping hand and letting me set my own (slow) pace to get up Mount Batur

Our experience with Hire Bali Driver was nothing short of amazing! We had a 1:30am pickup and our driver Dekwi was very prompt and professional. Our tour included an early morning volcano sunrise hike, hot springs, and waterfall. Dekwi made sure we covered all of these wonderful places and gave us all the time we needed to explore and create lifetime memories. He even helped us capture some amazing pictures! The communication with hire Bali driver was very courteous. They were accommodating in tailoring our day to make sure we had a great Bali experience.

Sadly we didn’t get to see the sunrise as it was raining and cloudy but the climb was fun and so was the alternate decent. I must stress you need to be some what fit for this. It’s not a gentle walk. The meal is very basic, an egg, some toast with a banana. The guide was lovely and again we were picked up by a private driver for this who was great.

This was an amazing experience from start to finish. Our driver Krisda was awesome. He was there at our hotel very early morning even before our start time of 1:30am. We were able to sleep comfortable in the car for our 2 hour car ride to Mt Batur. Krisda was very nice, kind, informative and knowledgeable. Also took our pictures at the hot springs. Our local tour guide in Mt Batur during the hike was also amazing. The views on Mount Batur is absolutely breathtaking. It was worth the 2 hour hike up. But our guide slowed down when we asked and never rushed us. He showed us amazing views and locations on the mountain.

Strict timing, very helpful and Surya respected our wishes. He clearly understood and requested what we wanted. Good communication and great insights into life in Bali and surroundings. Surya communicated good with local walking guide. Thanks again!

Overall, I cannot recommend HireBaliDriver or this tour enough. Although this hike was early, it was absolutely worth it for the views! Our driver got us to the mountain in a timely fashion, and he was great the rest of the day as well! Also, our other guide who hiked up the mountain with us, Kan, was fantastic! Overall, I recommend this tour to anyone who wants to go on a cool adventure!

Fantastic experience! Excellent guide and amazing scenery. The hike is a work out and you get a real sense of accomplishment. Hiking poles or a walking stick is helpful.

I booked the Mount Batur & Hot Springs tour via the Hire Bali Driver website, and I can safely say it turned out to be one of the highlights of my trip. A huge part of that was thanks to my amazing driver, Dekwi, who was absolutely fantastic throughout the day - punctual, professional, and genuinely friendly. We chatted about everything and anything during the early morning drive to the mountain. I mentioned my love for wood carving, and on the way back Dekwi added a stop at a lovely local shop where I could get my fix. He even offered to take me to a few more places afterward, but by that point I was just about ready to collapse from exhaustion. Still, it was so thoughtful of him. Dekwi also handled all the logistics during the trip and made it clear that he was happy to adjust the day to suit my pace and preferences - and that meant a lot to me. Now, on to the mountain itself. Fair warning to anyone considering this tour: the hike is no joke. Obviously, this depends on one's level of physical fitness, but as a certified couch potato, I was just about crawling on all fours by the final stretch. I wasn’t the only one suffering, either: at one point, a fellow hiker muttered “let’s just die,” and I felt that in my soul. For the less masochistic, there’s an option to hop on an ojek (motorbike 'taxi') for the lower half of the hike, but you're on your own for the last segment, as even ojeks can't go up trails that steep and rocky. I chose to pridefully suffer all the way, and I genuinely wouldn’t have made it without my lovely guide. She encouraged me constantly, waited patiently while I caught my breath every two minutes, and took a ton of great photos for me - which was very much appreciated, since I was traveling solo. Key tips for the trek: 1. Bring a jacket, it gets cold at the top 2. Wear proper footwear - I'd say sneakers/closed-toe shoes at minimum. And please, God forbid, no flip-flops - unless you're a local or just plain crazy. 3. Skip the shorts - leggings, or at least jeans, are a much better choice. 4. Bring water - at least one 500ml bottle per person, but two is ideal. 5. Apart from your prepaid meal, you can purchase sweet snacks from the locals at every rest stop, but that's just about it in terms of food (I was too busy breathing to care for any of it - breakfast tea was more than enough, honestly). 6. The monkeys at the summit are much calmer than, say, their Uluwatu temple cousins, but they may still snatch food (though they ignored everyone the day I visited). 7. Most importantly: whatever pain you experience climbing up, you’ll likely forget once you reach the top. I had the misfortune of being there on a rare foggy morning, so the sunrise and crater were hidden at first. But even then, the scenery was absolutely breathtaking, and as we began the descent, the clouds lifted, revealing an incredible view below. 10/10 - would strain my calves again. The hot springs were the perfect follow-up — a great place to relax sore muscles, soak in the warmth, and enjoy stunning views over Lake Batur. All in all, this was a wonderful experience I’d gladly repeat next time I'm in Bali (though I should probably do a little training beforehand). And when I do, I sincerely hope Dekwi will be my driver again. He truly went above and beyond to make the day smooth, enjoyable, and special.

We had a wonderful experience with our driver Adi! He was incredibly polite and friendly throughout the entire trip. He took us to see all three waterfalls in Ubud ,which were absolutely stunning. We also had a delicious lunch at a beautiful spot overlooking the rice terraces – truly unforgettable! On the way back, Adì chose a scenic route, which made the drive back to our hotel even more enjoyable. His knowledge and pleasant company really made our day special.

We had a fabulous tour yesterday with PIT, a local guide and opted to take another tour today with him. We asked for recommendations as to what to do and PIT was quick to let us know the sunrise at the volcano followed by the hot springs and water temple would be a great tour for us. We set out at 5 AM and PIT took us to this amazing restaurant where you’re sitting outside looking at the most beautiful vista. Although there was some fog when the sun came out it was truly breathtaking- the sun, volcano, lush vegetation and river were ethereal! The food was amazing and added to the ambiance of the morning. Since it was a private tour, we were able to have a leisurely breakfast while the full view of the sun at the volcano rose to its glory. Then we were off to the hot springs, which are more than worth the trip - and surprisingly not crowded - perfect way to start the morning. Again, sine it was a private tour we took our time and enjoyed it fully. On the way to the water temple, PIT pointed out the vegetation and stopped where we saw plants that we hadn’t seen before so we could take pictures. At the water temple, PIT explained the ceremonial practices, stories and religious significance of the icons and the role these all play in their culture. Afterwards PIT took us to a restaurant overlooking rice fields with a menu that rivals any Michelin restaurant. Absolutely perfect day designed by PIT, very affordable and very much appreciated!!! You can’t go wrong with this customized private tour!

The mount batur tour is one i can recommend highly. Mount batur has some amazing views and to think you are standing on cooled down lava gives some special feeling. We had Krisda as our guide, he is a great guide, and kind man!

Had a great time in Nusa Penida with my wife. The sights were incredible and the Crystal Beach waters were amazing, the nicest beach we visited during our trip! Our drivers/tour guides Yande and Ketut were great too, very polite and knowledgeable about the local areas and made the trip very comfortable for us.

The trek is amazing! The view of the sunset is picture-worthy but the hot springs are horrible. They charge $150,000, but they don't put it into repairing the changing area or keeping the pools cleaned. FLIES!!!!!!!! FLIES! FLIES! FLIES are everywhere and I couldn't enjoy it because I was constantly swatting at them. I am not exaggerating. We bought lunch. Huge mistake!!! They bought the food out covered because they know the flies are horrendous. We could not eat without keeping our food covered in plastic wrap. Do the Jeep tour, skip the natural springs.

We had a fantastic morning, Sakha was on time and a safe driver. It was quite cloudy at the top, but still very beautiful views and the hot spring was a great way to finish off.

Yande was our driver for the day and he was amazing! He was on time and explained much about Mount Batur and the area. We had a fantastic guide up the mountain his name is Yoga. He took us on a secluded track away from people and traffic. We had the best spot for the sunrise. Yande took us to the Batur hot springs and we had a whole pool to ourselves. It was amazing to soak in the hot springs after the hike. We finished off at a beautiful coffee plantation, where we enjoyed a large variety of tea and coffee with the most amazing view. Vi cannot recommend this service enough.

The trip was brilliant. Our driver, Leo, was ready and waiting to pick us up at our hotel and took us to the mountain where our guide met us. He was a great driver and his English was very good. The trek was difficult but worth it for the beautiful view. Our guide was brilliant. We then went to the natural hot springs and then we're dropped back off at our hotel.

The whole experience was amazing! The drivers picked us up early at our villa and were patient even though we took a while to get ready oops. We then embarked on a long journey to the base camp and had a hearty breakfast of coffee/tea and pancakes before being driven to the startpoint where we embarked on a hike. We were introduced to 2 hiking guides who really took good care of us. This is considering that we have older folks and people who are hiking for the first time. The hike up and down was hard but the guides’ humorous personalities help made everything better. At the summit, we were given a simple breakfast of sandwich and hardboiled eggs. The guides also ensured that we were on time to witness the sunrise and helped us take a good of good photos Overall, the hike at Mount Batur is a must-do and having good guides is a must-have. Great experience, very well organized tour. The hike was very challenging, the path was very steep but the guide made decent pace. Sunrise was awesome, simply breakfast very taste. As a positive plus was bathing in mineral springs. Overall perfect tour, highly recommended.

At first i want to thank our driver (Dexde) because he was very friendly, polite, helpful, and professional tour guide. He was also always on time. Also our tour guide during the hiking Asmara was very talented with taking pictures and have a very good spot up the mountain, and he was very careful about us not to be hearted. Secondly, the tour was so much fun, the root was so good, and food was so clean.
