Traditional Balinese House Compound is located in the village of Batuan, Gianyar regency, Bali. It is 45 minutes drive from Denpasar airport. The buildings are mostly designed by Balinese architectures taking daily social Balinese life concept pointing out the hospitality. It is very charming concept of house building consisted on several building with different purpose of activities. The Balinese family compound comprises a rectangular perimeter wall and several important structures, each significant and carefully laid out. The Balinese think that the family compound reflects the human body and the first step in building a new compound is consulting a Balinese calendar to choose a suitable day to buy the land and start work.
Batuan Temple is a secret Hindu temple set in the center of Batuan Village as a shrine for local people to worship the god. It is strategically located beside the main road from Denpasar City to Ubud or just 25 minutes to the south away from Ubud Village. It is a local village temple and a part of three major temples in a village that is called Tri Khayangan. Batuan Temple is also called Pura Desa beautifully designed with Balinese architecture and antique Balinese ornaments decorate the entire temple building including the entrance gate. This Batuan Temple has also featured three areas including Nista Mandala (outside area) Madya Mandala (Middle area) and Utama Mandala (Main temple area).
Tegenungan Waterfall is a popular, easily accessible waterfall near Ubud, Bali, known for its powerful flow, lush jungle setting on the Petanu River, and refreshing swimming spots in its natural pool. It's famous for its impressive height (around 15-20 meters) and the ability for visitors to get close to the falls via well-maintained stairs, offering great photo opportunities and a chance to cool off in the mist and water. The area features viewpoints, local cafes, souvenir shops, and sometimes even swings for memorable photos.
The Goa Gajah ‘Elephant Cave’ is an archeological site on the cool western borders of Bedulu Village, 6 km out of central Ubud. To the unknowing, Goa Gajah’s name can be slightly misleading, often creating an impression that the site is a gigantic dwelling full of elephants. After taking the flight of stone steps down to the Goa Gajah temple complex, you often don’t need more than an hour to explore and admire the relic-filled courtyard and view the rock-wall carvings. The site contains a namesake meditational cave, bathing pools and fountains.
Gunung Kawi Temple Tampaksiring is beautifully situated in a river valley surrounded by rice fields and jungle. This has been one of our favorite day trips for years. Gunung Kawi Temple is a collection of ten candi, created to evoke the appearance of temple fronts and designed to provide residence for the souls of ancient kings. The candi are hewn into the valley walls on both sides of the Pekerisan River. The Gunung Kawi Temple does have an interesting history. Inscriptions over each Candi approximate the date of construction to be in the 11th C. It is believed that each temple served as a memorial to a deified royalty principally because they are shaped like the burial towers, or Candi’s, found throughout Central Java.
Pura Mengening is one of Bali’s Bali‘s best-kept secrets and a true hidden gem. Tucked away in the shadows of the more popular Tirta Empul and Gunung Kawi Tampaksiring, Pura Mengening is a beautiful oasis surrounded by lush vegetation on all sides. Ubud Monkey Forest (Mandala Suci Wenara Wana) is a sacred natural sanctuary in Padangtegal, Bali, home to over 1,200 long-tailed macaques, ancient temples (like Dalem Agung Padangtegal), and lush nutmeg forests, serving as a vital conservation, spiritual, and eco-tourism site reflecting the Balinese belief in harmony between humans, nature, and God (Tri Hita Karana). Driver was pretty good. He arrived late which I didn’t mind, he brought me to a healer who basically scammed me and he kept bringing me to an atm to get more and more money for her which upset me a lot. I chalked it up to miscommunication due to the language barrier and let it go. I ended up missing my spa appt time by an hour b/c of it but thankfully they were able to accommodate me. The rest of the day was smooth sailing. He was very nice and the day was pleasant all things considered. I’d book again.

On our final day of our Bali holiday, we decided to book Mr Sali to drive us from Jimbaran to La Planca beach club I. Seminyak for sunset drinks and dinner. Mr Sali arrived early which worked out perfectly so we could arrive and find a great table at the club. Mr Sali was informative which was good for the 30 minute drive. I would definitely recommend his services for short and long trips/tours to anyone who is planning to visit Bali!

We booked a private car and driver for our family of five from Benoa Cruise Terminal on 4 December 2025 for a 3-hour shopping trip, and the experience was fantastic. The driver was punctual, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the best places to shop. The car was clean, comfortable, and perfect for our family. He drove safely, waited patiently at each stop. We discussed our itinerary in advance with our Tour Guide, Gus, and he organised our tour accordingly. Our Tour included the Rice Terraces, the Tirta Empul Temple, Ubud and some waterfalls. It was the right mix of sights for us and was exactly what we had hoped for. Gus’ local knowledge was fantastic and he pointed out numerous points of interest to us throughout our trip. Gus was very enthusiastic about his job and keen to make sure we had a good time. His English was very good and he was extremely courteous at all times and provided water for our use. He also recommended an excellent restaurant where we had lunch. The car was well equipped, in excellent condition and was very well maintained and clean. I would highly recommend Gus Surya for any trip.

Not many highlights, but Uluwatu temple was interesting. Irwan our driver made no mention of Balinese culture and did not suggest any places to visit. We were unsure of temples, sights etc. We mainly did the south and after spending most of the time in traffic (no one’s fault, just a bad day for traffic), we finished the tour after 6 hours. I thought water was supplied, but we had to buy our own.
Visited Tanah Lot and tegenungan waterfalls. Very beautiful locations. Friendly and polite guide/chauffeur. Overall excellent experience.
We opted to use the services of Eco Bali to explore the Beautiful Bali during our 2.5 week visit. Mr Made was very prompt and on point with all his replies. On our first trip day we met the young courteous and very jolly Surya - he was going to be taking us round for the day and on the rest of our trip days !!! Surya seemed to be well informed in terms of places ..... no backing and forthing anywhere ... he also was very well informed about all the places we visited and he was always very punctual. Having Surya as our driver cum guide, I feel, made a huge difference in making the trip not just good but awesome !!! He was always punctual, flexible and accommodating and very very courteous. I had issues with Knee Pain on exertion, and Surya always very kindly drove us as close as he could to minimise my walking... he would always offer a hand when I was struggling .... always with a smile !!! We really enjoyed all our trip days with Surya .... there was always a lot of information shared but also a lot fun stories and laughter !!! We have come back with so many fond memories of our Bali trip !! We most definitely recommend the services of Eco Bali to anyone looking to explore Bali with minimum hassle and tonnes of beautiful moments.
I toured East Bali with Darma and this was the best part of my stay in Bali. We visited the beautiful Mother Temple of Besakih and then Semarapura. Darma was helpful and I highly recommend this tour with him.
We contacted a number of providers when prepping for our trip to Bali ..... we were impressed by the Mr Made's prompt responses ....at the enquiry stage we found Mr Made extremely helpful with suggestions as per our specific requirements and capabilities. We felt that the itinerary they suggested was tailor made to our requirements and not just a standard brochure itinerary. His quote was also fairly competitive. When we got to Bali, on our first day we were picked up at the hotel by Surya, the driver/guide who was designated for all our trip days in Bali. In very little time, Surya made us feel comfortable. He was very friendly, extremely helpful and accomodative. Surya, our guide for the trips around Bali was very friendly ...... and also fairly informative. But days spent with Surya, although full on packed days in terms of schedule, did not feel tiring.... they were full of laughs and jokes all through the day !!! I would most definitely recommend Eco Bali to anyone looking to be able to explore the beautiful Bali with a knowledgeable, fun and accomodative operator. I will most definitely be booking with them again ......and would look fwd to the laughs and more lessons with Mr Surya !!!

We felt safe and comfortable with our driver. He knew the roads well. We got stuck a few times in awful traffic and he was trying his best to find alternative routes. Also very attentive to our needs. He made an effort to get us to places that he thought we would like. We don’t like going to the tourist traps for shopping though, and we landed at a few of them. He did find good parking spots along the way when we stopped and we had a nice lunch at a cafe he recommended. English was a bit hard to understand, but overall a good experience.
The views were great and the experience was very unique! Our driver (Gacky) was the a highlight! I'd highly recommend the tour!

Our driver was Ariana, full of knowledge, well spoken and a great driver, we felt very comfortable and experienced alot in 10 hours. Booking a driver for the day is a great idea to get around quicker and have a more uniqe day out.
This was our first trip to Bali and Dharma (our driver) made our trip very memorable. He ensured we covered most of the best places in the limited time we had. He explained everything about the place and the Do's & Dont's. I would recommend Dharma to anyone. We definitely will consider Dharma in our next trip.
