Was an incredible hike and great views at the top. Between the pickup/dropoff and the hike, Yus and Sarwa were great

To save you a read: you can book this exact tour for 10% of the price direct in Bali with more flexibility. PLEASE learn from my mistake and do that instead! I was really disappointed with this. The reviews looked great, I love hiking, I was looking forward to it. Bali in general is incredible and the people are so friendly - I loved my trip. But this tour felt like a straight-up scam with how I was treated. Basically it wouldn’t let me put down our AirBnB address for pickup, so I picked a hotel 2 minutes round the corner. I messaged the organisers on trip advisor promptly at our pickup time with the exact correct address. Nobody came or replied til HOURS LATER. So I was already sad I’d paid £60 and missed a trip. However OK, we messaged and rearranged for another day…I got badly sick with Bali belly…I apologised for the inconvenience, cancelled hours in advance the morning of before any driver had left, and asked if I could have a partial refund… No refund was given. At all. I genuinely would have been happy even with 50% back. Instead I was blamed for getting sick and for THEIR OWN SYSTEM not letting me PUT DOWN THE ACTUAL ADDRESS and then NOBODY REPLYING TO MY MESSAGE WITH THE EXACT ADDRESS for hours. I was then threatened not to post this review. I guarantee they will reply to this review with something saying I’m distorting the facts. I promise you on my life, the experience was the most disappointing I had in the whole of Bali. So: terrible experience. Got charged £60 for literally nothing. Threatened to not post this review. 0 refund given. 0 flexibility. No replying to Tripadvisor on time. Massively overpriced versus what you’ll get in person. Apart from that Bali was still great and lovely people. Just please BOOK A TOUR IN PERSON, don’t get scammed like me!

What a fantastic experience from start to finish. Our driver Ketut picked us up right on time from the hotel, and the journey was smooth and comfortable. On the way, we stopped at a coffee plantation – a lovely bonus and a great way to ease into the afternoon before the trek. At the base of the mountain we met our guide Jerry, a local with real experience who knew the trail inside out. He set a comfortable pace, kept us safe on the trickier sections and shared plenty of insight about the volcano and the area along the way. His friendly, relaxed manner made the climb genuinely enjoyable. And the reward at the top? A breathtaking sunset over the caldera and Lake Batur – absolutely worth every step. Seamless organisation, wonderful people and a view we'll never forget. Thank you Ketut and Jerry – highly recommended to anyone visiting Bali!

I did the sunset hike with my teenage son, it was a tough hike but was well worth it once we got to the top. The view was amazing! Yus was our guide up the mountain and he was amazing, very patient, kind and friendly and he took very good care of us. Our driver Sarwa picked us up and got us back to our accommodation safely. He was also very friendly and made for a great experience. Highly recommend!

We really enjoyed the hike up Mt Batur. We went on the sunset hike and although we didn’t see the sunset due to cloud, it was absolutely worth it! The scenery is stunning and our guide Yus was friendly, interesting and informative. Would highly recommended.

Had a great solo trip up Mount Batur for sunset! Loved having a snack cooked by the stream and we were even blessed with a gorgeous sunset when the clouds parted! No crowds and no early start, definite bonus. Also got taken to coffee plantation which was interesting to see with amazing forest views and did the hot springs which were worth a visit, and felt great. Shoutout to Sarwa the driver, lovely guy who gave me control of the music in the car, and Dika who was a great guide and enjoyed our chat on the hike!

We had the best day today thanks to our driver Rudi and guide Wira. Both of them were reliable, knowledgeable and pleasant to be around. Thank you so much guys you are great! Unlike the sunrise tour which apparently can get quite busy, there were very few people at the top for sunset and we enjoyed the incredible views in relaxed personal atmosphere. The way up is steep and humidity doesn't help but our guide was very patient and positive and made sure we are comfortable. We enjoyed hearty snack at the top (vegetarian friendly) and when the sun started setting we were blown away. The hot steam from the volcano and clouds around create unreal atmosphere. We were back to our hotel in Ubud by 9.

Kuas is the best, very friendly guide who will let you go at your own pace

We had a great experience. We opted for the evening tour to avoid an early morning wake up and crowds. The sights were beautiful and the hike was great! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and helpful as we navigated some loose rocks and steep ascents. Pick up and drop off at our hotel was seamless. Definitely recommend!

We booked a private tour up the mountain for sunset. Kuas was our guide, he shared his knowledge of the volcano and was great conversation throughout the hike. He was super accomodating and flexible as we decided to go down a little early as there were a lot of clouds that day, the result being we got some great dusk pics and views. We highly recommend the tour and Kuas!

Kuas the guide was so amazing. He kept checking on me and ensuring the pace was good and if I needed water. We did the walk up in about 1 hr 15 minutes, which was pretty quick. He had great conversation, was a good listener and having been solo, I never felt alone on the mountain or summit. Will definetly do it again. Teja the driver was also fantastic. He got me to my hotel in quick time and was early and communicated pick up well. He also let me stop at the store as I didn’t have any water. Definetly the best team on this excursion!!

Alex was a wonderful guide. He does the hike every day so he knows the way very well. On the top the views are astonishing. We got a banana sandwich and boiled egg on the steam. Sunset has less crowds and way more enjoyable. Going down it's a little slippery but Alex helped. Also we got sticks and headlights so no worries at all.

I had a great experience hiking Mount Batur. The driver, Ageng, was punctual and friendly, and we had some nice conversations during the drive, which made the journey more enjoyable. My guide, Komang, did a great job on the hike. He set a comfortable pace, was helpful throughout, and prepared diner at the top. Overall, everything was well organized, and both Ageng and Komang were friendly and professional. Thank you very much!

What a great hike! 100% recommended for everyone visiting Bali! And ask for my guide, Yus, he is the best! He was very attentive, checking that it was a comfortable pace, explaining everything in detail, very friendly and gives the best tour. My driver from Sanur and back was Arta, excellent driver, very safe and attentive, you should ask for him too!. About the hike, The views are amazing! Best eggs I’ve eaten ;)! So interesting to get them cooked with steam in the volcanic vents. He also showed me how water is collected from condensation at the top of Batur, so interesting! Finally, I recommend doing this sunset hike, no crowds at all! The whole tour took 9hrs from and back to Sanur, with stop at a Luwak coffee place on the way in (optional).

Perfect for those trying to avoid the crowds (or 2am alarm) of the sunrise tour. It was a bit cloudy for us but that didn't matter, we saw amazing views over the lake and our guide Kuas was wonderful checking in on us every step of the way. We opted for the hot springs add-on before the hike which I'd highly recommend. Previous reviews have said hiking boots are a must-have, I'd agree! What we didn't know was that we were going to get a coffee plantation and tasting experience along the way and also get to steam eggs in the vents of the volcano for our snack - a truly unique experience that I'd recommend to anyone. The day was particularly special for us as we got engaged that the top of the mountain. Many thanks again to Kuas and our driver Sari for making the day perfect!

Komang was our guide and he is so energetic and friendly. The trekking was quite challenging especially returning in the dark. However the view is worth the trip!

It was amazing! We got picked up at our hotel in Ubud, which was a 1,5-2 hour drive. Around 4:15 am we started the hike with the best guide we could ever wish for, Kuas. He is very sweet and also adventurous. He was also one of the reasons we loved the hike so much. He walked on our pace, checked every few minutes if we were okay, carried our sweaters and waters, cooked an egg for us on top of the mountain, made a lot of cool pictures, overall made our experience 10 times better. He really enjoys his job, and it shows. Thankyou so much Kuas!!! <3

Great day visiting rice terraces, temple, coffee plantation and sunset trek. Kuas was a fantastic guide, looking after us beautifully in the challenging downhill section in the dark.

Komang and Ageng were great guides for our sunset trip to mt Batur, my mum and I had a good experience on the drive there from and to our villa as well as walking up the mountain. We also completely forgot about our flight back home and Komang tried to help us as much as he could with getting us to the airport. Thank you guys

We had Wira leading us for the sunset tour and Ketut for the transportation. Both of them are extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome doing this tour. Wira is very knowledgeable with the history and geology of the mountain and also lead with a very good pace. Really enjoyed the sunset view of the mountains and craters at the peak.

Great experience! Our guide was super kind and patient, provided food and headlamps, took great pictures and always adapted to our pace. Highly recommended!

We had a great time with our guide Koma. The pick up was without any trouble. The hike up was shorter than expected, and we were up before sunset. We had the mountain completely to ourselves. Unluckily there was foggy and limited view.

We are happy got to see the amazing sunset in Bali from Mt Batur. The trek up was really challenging for about half an hour. I’m very proud of our selves able to go through the climb to witness that amazing scene there. Big thanks to our guide Wayan who kept up with our pace and gave us encouragement throughout the whole climb. He always helping us when we had difficulty trekking on the steeper roads.

Had an excellent time with Wira as my guide and Arjana as my driver. Enjoyable experience with great views and weather at the top.

We had an amazing time. Due to a last minute injury, we asked our guide if there was anyway to change our hike to a jeep tour. We are so appreciate they were able to last minute accommodate us so that we didn’t have to cancel our plans. Our guide picked us up from our hotel in Ubud and then we stopped at a coffee plantation and got to try an array of coffee and teas. There’s also a gift shop to buy some to take home. Then we headed up to the mountain and switched to a jeep for the trek up. It is a bumpy ride but was a lot of fun. Once at our spot for sunset, our guide took lots of pictures for us and even had snacks and drinks for us. Our guide dropped us off back at our hotel later. A long, memorable day. Amazing customer service & would definitely recommend!

Our guide Komang was great!! This is a difficult hike with a wonderful summit view. He went out of his way to make us comfortable. A very long day as we came up from Kuta (2 1/2 hour drive). We left our hotel at noon and returned at 10pm. We opted to jeep up halfway as this is a two hour trek up from the bottom. We were very happy with that decision! It added cost but well worth it.

The hike itself while not too long in duration is quite tiring on the way up, take as many breaks as required. Jero was an amazing guide who was our own personal photographer! views from the top are spectacular and we were in awe even though it was cloudy when the sun set. Food and hot drink at the top was also more than expected which was nice. Walk down was much easier.

Good guide and driver came on time to pick us up. It was really cloudy when we went on top so we could not see the sunset but the view was amazing.

I have enjoyed a lot this tour starting from Kuta where my hotel was located. Gede my driver was super kind and drove safely during the whole trip. Our first stop was at the coffee tasting place, where I could enjoy a delicious tasting session and relax a bit during the long trip to the north of the island. Then we arrived at the starting point of the trail with Koma who was my local guide. Fortunately the clouds cleared up when we arrived to the summit and we could enjoy a stunning and breath taking sunset. I highly recommend this tour to anyone. There were also folks camping close to the summit to have 2 chances to see a clear sunset/sunrise. The 1,350,000 IDR were completely worth it.

Excellent hiking experience with Yus and driver Sarwa! Took us up the mountain safely and cooked the eggs perfectly Highly recommend this experience Hiked up and took the motorcycle down( extra charge not included) Wear good trail shoes!

Great time! First time hiking and we had a blast with komang raka, a great guide and a good friend. Also Indra was on time to pick us up and the ride was fun and smooth. 10/10 highly reccomend

Had a stunning sunset experience with my lovely guide, Komang. He set the perfect pace for me and was spirited and considerate to make sure I got a great trek. Only a few people at the top and luckily a clear evening so got the most beautiful views. Really recommend this as an alternative to sunrise.

Excellent communication about pick up instructions. Yus is a kind, patient and funny guide! It’s incredible to see what you actually climbed in the dark, once the sun rises! You’ll be proud of your accomplishment. Wear hiking boots if you can. Agus is a very fun driver! He loves to sing!

We hiked in a small group of 4. Our guide was very friendly and allowed us to hike at our pace. The hike itself is not overly challenging, and most people with a decent level of fitness should be able to handle it fine. It took us an hour to climb, and that was at quite a leisurely pace. We had food consisting of a banana sandwich, boiled eggs, a chocolate bar, and a hot coffee at the summit. This was the perfect way to soak in the view. I would highly recommend this experience.

I had the best time on this tour! My guide (Yus) and driver (Dibya) were fantastic. I was picked up on time and was well supported during the hike. We were very lucky with the weather and had some incredible views at the summit! Overall a very well organised and planned tour - highly recommend Yus and Dibya for this tour!.

The view above the volcano was incredible! We had a good sunset, our guide Cardika got us to the top quickly and safely. He also gave us a lovely food cooked in the steam at the top! If you’re a beginner hiker, they have bikes to take you up but only take cash, <200k for a ride. I really recommend the hike up though!

An amazing guide thank you Jon, he let us go at our own pace and take breaks when needed and also took amazing pictures, a lovely driver and great time at the coffee plantation too.

We had Antara as our driver who is excellent, and very kind, even stopped at a viewpoint so we can take photos of Batur, and dropped us at a nearby, but different location in Ubud, which we requested almost last minute, great and very skilled driver! We had Jero as our guide who has provided the best experience while hiking! Very attentive to all needs of the group, and happy to share her knowledge about Balinese culture and her connection to the sacred nature of the mountain.
