Mount Batur Sunrise Tour

Overall, my husband and I had a wonderful experience, despite the middle-of-the-night pickup and challenging terrain. It was absolutely worth it for the experience and the value! A few important tips for anyone planning to do this: make sure you wear proper hiking shoes, bring a light jacket because it gets quite cold at the top, and, most importantly, take their trekking poles! I cannot stress enough how much of a difference they make. Having them would have made my experience so much easier, especially since some parts of the trail can get very slippery. Our driver, Rudi, was amazing! Our guide, Alex, was also fantastic. He was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and supportive throughout the hike. He even held my hand when I needed a little extra help, constantly checked to make sure I was okay, and allowed us to take as many breaks as we needed. I truly appreciated his care and encouragement. We also went to the hot springs right afterward, which was absolutely wonderful and the perfect way to unwind after the hike. Trust me, your muscles will definitely feel it! Overall, an unforgettable experience. Highly recommend!

Experience all in all was fantastic. The communication from the operators was great and I did not have to wait long for any feedback. Sari was our driver from the hotel to base camp. She was great, and messaged the day before to confirm timings and also took on a free tasting coffee tour after the climb. She was also great when it came to answering any questions we had for the climb. Arman was out Jeep driver. He was fantastic, and cleared up any last minute questions we had and was good to have for a chat at 4AM before we started the hike! Kadek was our guide for the climb. He ensured we had enough breaks, guided us very well along the hike, and also prepared a warm breakfast and coffee once we summited. He also took us around the crater to see the steam vents which was fantastic. All in all, the trip was amazing, we were well informed and the itinerary matched everything we expected. The climb can be a little challenging at 4AM on little sleep, so the Jeep was a great offer! Cannot recommend this experience and our guides more highly! Must do while you are in Bali.

Me and Kuas had a wonderful time climbing mount Batur! We had such a laugh and he was extremly knowledgeable about the area. He showed me how to boil eggs using only the steam from the volcano and the views we’re spectacular.

This mountainis not for the faint hearted! Youcan be taken up by motorbike but honestly challege yourself and hike it. This is easily a level 8 hike and im a seasoned hiker. The view from the top is absolutely spectacular, my guide was amazing! Always checking in on me and ensuring my safety.

I highly recommend taking this Mt Batur sunrise tour with akasa coffee, coffee plantation and black lava tour. We had the best time with our drivers and guides. Shout out to Rana, our jeep driver who took beautiful photos and made sure we had a great time with safety in mind. And also to Wihaba who picked us up and dropped us back to the hotel. We really enjoyed our day.

Incredible vibes straight from pick up to drop off. Went solo but met amazing people along the way. Hot springs added was definitely needed, legs were feeling it.

Highlights - Komang, our guide, was the best part: friendly, knowledgeable, encouraging and great at photos - Serongga trail: steep, challenging and far quieter than the Instagram routes - Summit in 1h 10 mins - Breakfast and a surprise hot chocolate at the top - Coffee tasting stop with around 20 coffees and teas We stayed in Ubud, two of us, one moderately active and one experienced hiker. Our driver Rudi picked us up around 2:30 a.m. and was patient and friendly throughout. Komang made this trip. He chatted the whole way up, told us about the area, answered every question and kept us motivated on the steepest sections without ever rushing us. He took fantastic photos and surprised us with a hot chocolate at the top. We couldn't have asked for a better guide. The climb is very steep, but we reached the summit in 1h 10 mins. Breakfast at the top was a nice touch. Some reviews knock it, but I found it perfectly sufficient. Bring a protein bar if you're worried. The descent is notoriously tricky, but Komang looked after us the whole way, and we took our time and kept stopping for photos. Afterwards Rudi took us to a coffee plantation, where we tried around 20 coffees with no pressure to buy. I picked up plenty of gifts before he drove us back. An amazing morning and I'd recommend it to anyone. Ask for Komang!

This hike was a highlight of our trip to Bali, the views were incredible. The tour was well organised, easy, great communication. We had Rudi as our driver, who was on time, friendly, good English, informative, very good at his job. Would highly recommend

We had a great experience. Our guide Yus waited for us close by our hotel en walked with us to the base camp. He gave us a safe feeling and give explaination when asked. Gave his best at taking pictures of us!

We had a wonderful time and our driver Ketut was great and responsive! Our hiking guide, Yus, was very knowledgeable and accommodating on our hike up the mountain as well! It is quite an early morning but very much worth it. The hike itself is not very long (we did it in 1.15 hrs) but it is strenuous as you're walking uphill on gravel and sand mostly so keep that in mind. The summit is beautiful and Yus took us to places that most tourists were not which we appreciated. We also opted for the hot springs afterwards which felt great after the hike. Great experience overall!

A “Must-do” experience in Bali is trekking / hiking up to the summit of the active volcano , Mount Batur . We booked this through trip advisor based on the many positive reviews and happy to say that we are adding another ! The hike is at dawn so we left early around 2am . We were picked up from our hotel by Kadek and taken to Mount Batur where we were then introduced to our trek guide Kuas , who was not only patient and knowledgable but also a great breakfast chef and photographer! He made us breakfast and coffee at the summit and took great photos for us as well . Could not hope to be guided any better . It was a fantastic experience but be warned : wear the right footwear as it is not straight forward as mountain hikes go !

Early start but worth it for the experience. At 2am we we're collected from Ubud to travel to mount batur by our driver Komang who was on time and gave is water and snacks on arrival. An hour and 15mins drive to the site we met our guide for the private tour, Wira, who was amazing all-day. We made the hike up the mountain stopping 2 to 3 times for rest and checking were all OK. As a family, we're no strangers to this type of climb so made the ascent in 1hr 15mins with stops. At the top Wira made us breakfast (Sandwiches, eggs, bananas) and hot coffees and chocolate. As the sun rose, we took various photos and moved around the summit. As the sun finally emerged, Wira took us around the top to a special place where he took the most amazing photos of us all, and even used photography techniques a professional would be proud of. After spending time at the top watching the light change and viewing the hot thermals from the volcano top, we started our way down. The decent was sketchy at times we lose rock and dust, but again Wira waiting were needed and led us down safely and swiftly in about 50 mins. At the end, we shared stories and said goodbye to everyone, and a special thanks for our special guide Wira.

We walked up, starting at 04:00hrs, very much worth the early start and the effort. Nope our guide was lovely, set an easy pace and constantly checked in that we were ok. Mang Adi was our driver for the day- very polite and patient man. Would definitely recommend the walk, the guide and the driver.

The trip is well worth the steep climb to the top . It took us 1.5hrs , it was moderately strenuous but we kept going . At the summit , wonderful views of Mt Agung & Batur . No safety briefing or walking pole though. Guide spoke little English but was very friendly and really nice . Nice coffee, Hot chocolate, Egg on the top & nice fellow tourists also multi national ..

Very well organised tour. Right from picking us up at 1:30am at Canggu to the trek, equipment, everything was perfect. Special word of thanks to Gede who fetched us from our stay in a clean comfortable car. 1.5hrs trek up and 1 hr trek down became much more fun thanks to Kuas, our guide.

Kaus was awesome! He was super knowledgeable, attentive and a great photographer. The pick up and drop off from our accommodation made everything so easy, and great value for money. Getting to the top for sunrise was absolutely worth the trek, exceeded all expectations - what a view!
