Mount Batur : Open Trip Sunrise Trekking All Inclusive

We had a great experience! Small group and very friendly driver and great local guide! Definitely recommend it!

I had to wake up at 0100 for 0130 pickup. Waited at the pickup point starting at 0120 and was never picked up. Sent several texts to the tour operator without a response. Contacted Viator and finally quit at 0220. Because of the 0130 pickup, I had to change the day before and the day of the trip plans on my vacation. Absolutely terrible!

This was such a pleasant first time experience for me. Everything was exceptional! From the tour company services, communication, driver and trekking guides. They are patient, kind, attentive to everyone. Mount Batur Ultimate Trekking company lives up to their name!

Hike was incredible, we're moderately fit and found it quite doable. Enough time for multiple breaks on the way up to catch your breath. Highly recommended, we were lucky the clouds cleared for us for an incredible view. Our hiking guide was Putu and he was really great you'd be lucky to get him on the hike.Only downfall was that the driver was reckless, was raining and quite foggy with low visibility, he proceeded to speed and try over take two cars over a solid line in those conditions, I almost offered him a tip to drive slower.

I’m not a hiker and I definitely didn’t feel fit enough to complete this trek by half way. My tour guide Ketut however would not leave me behind, always stopping and reassuring or offering his hand to help me. His spirit and kindness really did give me the strength to continue. Once we arrived at the top he treated us with hot chocolate and banana sandwiches which really hit the spot. Then he helped guide us through the crowds to a more secluded spot and took the most memorable photos of my partner and I. Today was a day I’ll never forget and I could go on and on but point is ketut is the best! Would recommended him and this trek to everyone ❤️

Terrible experience. Our guide was in a big hurry right from the start. Felt very rushed and I am someone that works out 4-5 days a week religiously. Made it to the top and tour guide says we’re going to the crater now, another 25 minutes okay? I thought everyone was doing that and come to find out it was the hardest climb and descent possible. It was absolute torture and in fact I fell off the side of the mountain and grabbed onto grass to keep me from tumbling further. My husband and son had to literally pull me up and there was no offer of going a different way or easier way. Absolutely NO ONE that we saw on the climb to Mt Batur came down the way we did. Our driver told us we were the last people down, wonder why? Also had to reschedule bc my husband got sick at scuba and son got Bali belly so actually paid TWICE for this torture! My sons are both D1 college athletes and felt it was extremely difficult on the way down.

Great trip. I was taken good care off. The hike was a bit rough but we paused when needed. Beautifull view and if you cant make it downstairs there is car or motor.

The hike and early start to the day was well worth it, awesome views at the end. Was a good group of folks for the tour, driver Purna arrived on-time and was easy to get along with. Hiking guide Ketut was great, really engaged with the tour group and hiked at a pace that suited all on trip. Weather for the day was great, no clouds impeding view.

Our guide Putu was incredible. Very knowledgeable and friendly. The views from the routes we took were amazing. Highly recommend.

We spent an amazing time. The weather conditions were perfect. Our driver Bento was very friendly and picked us up as well as dropped us off as planned. The Guide Santi was so nice, helpful and humorous. We can definitely recommend this trip with the two of them!

It was a well organized trek led my Ketut Arus who is very personable, knowledgeable & spoke excellent English. Breakfast served at summit was delicious & coffee was oustanding. It's a strenuous hike but well worth it for the beautiful views - highly recommend. Thank you Ketut for a wonderful & fun hike!

Great communication from the start, about pick up etc. Guide helped us (4 girls in the group) and was patient with us, thank you bli Putu! Would be great to have a walking stick :)

Me and my boyfriend went on the Mount Batur hike today with our guide Putu and we had a very amazing time! It was a really magical experience and our guide showed us a special way down, which was an amazing experience with the best views ever!! We would totally do this again any time and we really appreciated all the efforts put into. Our guide always made sure everyone was ok and we took enough breaks. The views were absolutely stunning!! we 100% recommend this tour for anyone visiting Bali.

It was a great experience, however many do not make it to the top. This climb is hard - challenging, not moderate as it says. Guides are lovely but are used to going at a fast pace. It was beautiful at the top, but it’s up to luck. A lot of people paid money to get motor bike up or down, which can be pricey.

I recommend this experience to everyone! It is just magical. The pick up driver (Asnawa) was well organised and punctual. The hike is steep and the terrain a little uneven. But our guide (Merta) stopped at the right stops and held a manageable pace so that everyone reached the summit. And then the magic in the sky happened. Will never forget this view. And to top it off we got a very nice concert from our guide (singing song while playing the guitar).

The Mount Batur Trek was one of the highlights of our trip to Ubud. We were collected at our hotel by our driver who was very friendly and informative. We were then greeted by our guide at the drop off point. The trek itself was very enjoyable, it is quite steep in certain areas and some of our group struggled. I would consider it moderate- difficult, would not recommend to anyone who finds trekking hard. The views were 100% worth the trek though, we got very lucky with the cloud cover and it just lifted as the sun was rising. We received hot chocolate, boiled eggs and banana sandwiches at the top which was very thoughtful and needed!! All the guides were super friendly and helpful and I would 100% recommend this trek for anyone visiting Ubud.

Our guide Agus was amazing, who helped us take breaks during the hike for those of us who were slow, and even made us a greta breakfast. Worth it experience!

Amazing view and the guide was very good although he was very focused on selling us motorbike rides. The add shows a photo of Hot Springs but this comes as an additional cost. You also visit a coffee plantation. The trek was good but we didn't get that much time on the top unfortunately.

Very nice guide, my knee was hurting, so he helped me out great. Took the motorbike up and down for the rest. Very nice driver

Our guide was kind and friendly. Everybody was taken up in small groups of roughly 3 people, each with a guide. Headtorches and a bamboo stick for walking were provided. There were multiple stops along the way, and it was nice and cool because of the time of day. Once at the top, every group had their own spot to watch the sunrise, so there was no gostling for the best spot. We were offered food, blankets and hot drinks. The sunrise was breathtaking <3 The whole trip was very well organised, the highlight of my holiday!

It was amazing, the hike is a little intense but there’s option for motorbike for an extra cost if you do not want to miss the view (which is spectacular and worth it). Ketut was an amazing, punctual and careful driver. &. Wayan was so kind and amazing photographer (Thank you to both) Make sure to book the right package because I thought hot springs and coffee plantation would be included and it was not. Although the Owner offered options to fix my package.

Omg, this was incredible. So worth getting up at 1am. My driver arrived on time & the journey to & back to my hostel was very smooth. Long but that can't be helped due to traffic. My highlight of the tour was my leader; Ulla was amazing!!!!! Her English was perfect & was so kind, lovely & knowledgeable. The views were just incredible & the sunrise too. Hands down in one of the best days of my life... :P I would highly recommend this tour.

Amazing experience and guide - I recommand this activity. If you're visiting Bali, visit to Mount Batur is clearly a must and a must-do once in your life.

As a solo traveler, I long for sunsets and decided to complete this Trekking experience to see a sunrise in Bali. From start to finish the customer service was terrific. Kelan and Merta sorted me out so well thought out. The experience all, though I didn't get to see a sunrise due to clouds. The views and the experience were life-changing.

. The sun, active hot steam, and sky changed to colors I hadn't realized existed before. Fertile ground in the valley produces many things. I did it with a guide. He has a passion.

Best hiking experience! We got picked up on time to go to Mount Batur, had tea at arrival and then started the hike in small groups with a guide. Out guide was so nice. We got up before sunrise and had small breakfast, the sunrise was amazing! Such a great morning

Our driver (Asnawa). Picked us up promptly and was very kind, made sure we had everything we needed and answered all of our questions. Our mountain Guide (Putu Kocong) was extremely patient with us being slow hikers and when we got to the top of the mountain he made us a coffee and breakfast which was delicious! We are so grateful for our guides! Putu even took awesome photos of us! And we had a good chat about just life in general

Great experience!! Best experience in South East Asia!!!! Experienced mountain guide and driver made our trek up Mount batur a memorable one!! Asnawa was very kind when he was driving us to/from the mountain and was very professional and polite 😊 The best driver that we have had in Bali!! We got up the mountain in 1.5hrs thanks to our experienced guide! We were given head lamps which we definitely needed. Then we were surprised with a delicious breakfast when we reached the summit, banana sandwiches, eggs, oranges, and a chocolate bar! As well as tea/coffee/hot chocolate!! All lovely😄 I would really recommend using this company for your trek! Good value for money and great service!

We had a great time nice group of companions to hike. The guide was very pleasant and very helpful. Easy to talk to and informative. He also took great pictures I would recommend to anyone.

Had such a great experience trekking Mr Batur. The pick up was early but very well organised. Was very useful having a contact for WhatsApp to communicate with. The guide was fantastic, very patient and friendly. The hike itself was fine if you have moderate fitness. Took about 90 mins to climb in the dark. We were lucky with the views at sunrise although it was a bit cloudy, it soon burnt off. The views on the way down were stunning. Would highly recommend!

This experience was flawless from start to finish. Driver was on time and very lovely, was given coffee and biscuits when we arrived along with our stick and torch and off we went. There was 2 guides for 5 of us, both of which were absolutely lovely, really chatty and warm. We made the trek on time and got to experience a really beautiful moment. You can put your faith in these guys

It was a pleasant experience hiking with our guide Merta. Despite it being my first time hiking, Merta was extremely patient and made sure that we went at a comfortable and safe pace. We were lucky to catch the beautiful sunrise at the peak!

I had booked on this trip by myself and no one else had booked for my day meaning I had the driver and mount guide to myself! Asnawa (the driver) was exceptional and communicated my pick up time the day before. He was extremely helpful on all of the stops. My guide up and down the mountain was also incredible and took lots of photos. The springs and coffee plantation are also nice stops on the way back! Be sure to pack something warm for when you get to the top of the mountain - it's cold waiting for sun rise after all the walking!

This trip was incredible from start to finish. Our guide showed up to pick us up right on time and was willing to talk with us or let us sleep as we started so early in the morning. He explained the whole trip in detail so that we knew what to expect, and was a very good driver, taking it slow on the bumpier mountain roads. He left us off with a second guide to do the hike with, who was also very polite. Our hiking guide was very good about checking on us periodically and was patient with my wife when she needed to take breaks. As someone who does not typically hike, she had a tough time, but was able to complete the entire trek and make it to the top before sunrise. I would consider this a moderate hike with some steeper inclines, but did not consider it difficult as I hike somewhat often. The hot springs were worth the stop, and the breakfast/coffee at the mountain summit was perfect. Our guide offered to bring us to a coffee plantation on the return trip, which is another spot worth checking out! This was for sure something we will never forget, and was well worth the cost!

We had an amazing time!! It was hard to commit to waking up at 2am on vacation, but it was so worth it. We were so pleased we chose this tour company, especially because of our delightful driver Agus. He has to wake up before 2am ALL THE TIME and he could not have been more friendly and welcoming. He taught us so much about Bali and Balinese culture as we drove around, it was truly a highlight of our trip. Agus was so enthusiastic and genuine. The hike was fantastic! Our hiking guide, Gede, was patient and encouraging. We loved the cute little breakfast at the top. There were a lot of clouds so the view came and went as the clouds shifted, but it was still a great experience and a beautiful place. Bring more layers than you think you'll need - it gets chilly at the top especially when you're sweaty from the hike. The hike is short but steep! Harder than it sounds. The hot springs were a great chance to relax, and we both loved the coffee/tea plantation way more than we thought we would. I had assumed it would be a Bali tourist trap (and it kinda was) but the coffees and teas were delicious and the setting was a breathtaking jungle view. We really enjoyed it.

What an incredible experience! Agus picked us up promptly at 2:30AM from our villa in Ubud. After a smooth drive north to Mt. Batur, we stopped at a local market to pick out fresh fruit for our breakfast at the top of the volcano. Agus was helpful with picking fresh fruit and making sure we were taken care of. Once we arrived at the bottom of the volcano, we met up with our guide for the hike, Ketut. I can't say enough amazing things about Ketut. He kept us moving and knew every twist and turn of the trail, even in the pitch dark. He did the perfect job of pushing us to keep moving when we were tired on the hike, but also letting us take breaks when needed. This is not an easy hike! Once we reached the top, he found us a beautiful spot to sit and watch the sunrise while he got us fresh coffee, a warm breakfast, and our fruit from the market. Ketut was fantastic at taking pictures for us so we have great memories to take home. After the sunrise, Ketut offered to take us on an extra trek around the rim of the crater. Not many people continue hiking after sunrise, so it was less crowded and the views were stunning. We also got to feel the steam coming out of the volcano! After the long trek back down the volcano (which was just as tough as the way up!), we met back up with Agus to take us to the Hot Springs. When talking with Agus after our hike, we learned that we had bought lava rock bracelets from his mother when we were on top of Mt Batur without even realizing it! It was a beautiful coincidence. The hot springs were fine, but nothing to write home about. A nice relaxing moment after the long, difficult trek, but we didn't spend too much time there. Lastly, Agus took us to the coffee plantation and we got to sample many different coffees and teas and buy way too much coffee to bring home with us. I highly recommend this tour and especially Agus and Ketut. They made the entire excursion worth the cost.

Our guide Lubak was absolutely amazing-- he took us up a path that was perfect for us and was really fun to chat with, super cool guy. Agus the organizer was top notch and took great care of us and all of the logistics. One small but meaningful feature was that they gave us headlamps instead of flashlights to do the hike. This was really helpful as we didn't need to carry anything in our hands which helped with balance and fatigue during the trek. Lubak also offered to carry our sweatshirts and water as we didn't come prepared with backpacks (oops) and the temperature can swing drastically at different points of the trek. Absolutely loved this and them!!

Reliable and super responsive tour operator for Mount Batur, Coffee plantation and the natural hot springs! They provided a smooth experience and also flexible transport arrangements. Would definitely engage them again!
