I went with my daughter and we both had the most amazing experience. Our guide Dewa was extremely thorough and explained everything as we went. He told us lots of stories about the temple. Highly recommend.

We had a group of four and had the lovely Kadek guiding us! Kadek was funny, charming and patient with us. We met at the front of the temple and he would explain the history of the temple and helped us understand the Balinese culture on where things stem from. He guided us through the whole water ritual and explained to us what to do clearly and helped us take great photos too.

Our guide, Kadek, provided the most wonderful experience at Tirta Empul temple yesterday❣️ His care and explanations of the magical place and how to fully immerse ourselves was instrumental to our experience, we are deeply Grateful 🙏 He also used my glasses and phone to capture the most amazing photos and video of us, thank you for being such a great photographer and a good sport for using the Meta glasses 😎 We were there for 7am and enjoyed the Melukat ceremony in calm and tranquillity before the crowd started to arrive. Very unique experience and a must try for travelers interested in Balinese local culture and religious practices! Recommend to bring a tote along with a plastic bag for wet clothing as you will get wet during the purification. Also bring towel, swimsuits, sandals with you on the trip as it will make the changing much easier.

It was a very refreshing and fun experience . The guide gave us good description, took great pictures. We arrived reasonably early and there was very less waiting.

Wow! Wow! Wow! I can't put into words what an incredible experience we've had and implore everyone to book. Our guide, Komang, was outstanding. He communicated via what's app and was so accommodating when we asked to change dates due to the weather. On arrival, he met us with a beaming, welcoming smile and made us feel at ease immediately. His English was impeccable and his knowledge was outstanding - without him, our experience would not have been the same. We arrived early (around 8.30 am), which seemed the best thing to do, to beat the crowds. Once inside, Komang explained the history of the temple, the belief around the temple and guided us expertly through the process. He was able to take the most breathtaking photos for us (for a small fee), which we will treasure forever. I consider myself spiritual, but my partner is not in the least. However, we both came away feeling a sense of contentment, hope and fulfillment that was unexpected. I would highly, highly recommend this as a trip of a lifetime in Bali. Go with an open mind, an open heart and the respect that this sacred site deserves. 🙏🏼

My melukat ceremony at Tirta Empul Temple was truly unforgettable, and a big part of that was because of my guide, Rangga, who explained every step with calm patience and deep respect for the tradition while making sure I understood the meaning behind each offering, prayer, and movement. Rangga has a beautiful soul that you can feel in the way he speaks to both the water and the people, and his steady, reassuring voice guided me through the purification prayers with genuine presence throughout the whole process. When I felt nervous about the fish in the spring water, he encouraged me gently and shared the philosophy behind surrendering, making each stage feel meaningful by connecting it to daily life and personal reflection. I left feeling lighter, clearer, and genuinely grateful because it wasn’t just a tourist activity but a real spiritual reset. Rangga’s respectful and focused tone. Even with other visitors around, the space still felt personal and contemplative, and the crowd size was moderate during my weekday morning visit with enough space that it never felt crowded. Rangga timed our entry well so we could have quiet moments in the water without interruptions, and if you want it quieter, I’d recommend coming early with a guide like him who knows the flow.

The guide Dewa has given us very thorough introduction of the temple history and the stories of each God. Dewa has taken good photos and videos for us as well. The place has sacred and solemn vibe, we got touched and definitely felt the holy water's blessing and cleansing power with tears of compassion. Thanks Dewa's heartful care with his calling from the Divine. In spite of brought us to pray by guiding us step-by-step on the essential rituals, Dewa also shared with us some messages he got from the divine which is so true to us! I accidentally twisted my ankle when I crossed the step, Dewa helped me to massage and the pain was gone! It amazed me so much on the spiritual side of the Balinese and the sacred energy of the temple! Tirta Empul Temple is not only a tourist attraction, but also a place of spiritual medicine!

You absolutely must do this. The entire experience is just amazing. The guide that we were given (Santika) was so knowledgeable, and never stopped smiling. He explained the entire process from start to finish, informed us of exactly why we were doing things not just what we were doing. He also gave us the history of the temple and surrounding areas. Everything was perfectly organised, and it left us feeling like we had truly been a part of the Balinese culture. Our suggestion is to make sure you do the early morning session (7:30am) as it can get quite busy. Highly recommended.

I had a wonderful experience at the temple with my guide, Fendi. He explained the history and the meaning behind the purification ritual so clearly, which made the whole experience much more meaningful. He also helped me take many beautiful photos and videos, which I really appreciate. The water was quite cold, but after the ritual I felt so light and refreshed, both physically and mentally. Just like Fendi said, intention is everything, and trusting the energy of the holy water makes a difference. I arrived at 8am and it was almost empty, so I highly recommend going early for a more peaceful and comfortable experience.

This is our 2nd time participating in the Melukat Ceremony. This time, we were traveling with our 17 year old son and 82 year old mother. We ALL loved the experience. It just feels so special. It is legit, too. Lot's of locals participate, it is not a tourist only activity. I will go every time I travel to Bali.

I did this tour with two friends. We had an incredible day. Our guide Santika was truly incredible - so friendly, knowledgeable, fun and kind. Santika was a wealth of interesting local knowledge. The tour of the temple was so interesting and informative, and the water purification ceremony was so special. He took some lovely photos of the day as well, which was an added bonus. Would highly recommend this trip!

We had a truly exceptional experience with our tour guide Hendra. Can’t recommend this experience enough. Hendra patiently explained every aspect of the ceremony, and the way he did so helped us to really get the best out of the experience. He helped us to make the whole afternoon relevant to our lives and take our trip to Bali to a deeper level. This is completely worth the cost and we are so glad we spent the time here in Bali doing this experience.

It was a real pleasure to partake in this spiritual experience. Very enlightening and fulfilling. Dewa was an excellent guide and showed a top level of knowledge and alignment with the balinese culture and history.

Rannga was a knowledgeable guide who provided me with lots of lots of information about Balinese customs and traditions. He was very patient with all of my questions about culture, traditions, ceremonial role and I found it all fascinating.

It was wonderful. Especially booking an early tour (08:00). There were nearly no people and it was really quiet. But probably also, because it is raining season in Bali in February. My Guide Rangga was soo wonderful! He knew everything about the temple and the culture. He could also answer every question I had for him. His english was excellent. Definitely the best I heard so far in Indonesia. I would definitely recommend this tour. ( Ask for Rangga)

Our guide Parwata met us at the entrance and provided a genuinely rich insight into the significance and history of this sacred place and also clearly guided us in how to correctly experience this ceremony. This was very easy to book and straight forward when you arrive at the temple - no additional fees were required.

Our guide Botak did a great job explaining the temple setup, rituals and the cleansing ceremony. We had such a great experience and can only recommend it! Go especially in the morning to avoid crowds - it is worth an early rise!
