This was an excellent trip which gave us a real insight to the culture, tradition and religious practices of Balinese people. It also included stops at a coffee/tea plantation, and the ‘Bring Back the Light’ firefly conservation project. Our guide, Darma was very friendly and engaging, and gave us lots of information about the fauna, flora and traditions along the way. The cycling was all downhill, so extremely easy for all abilities! Highly recommended.

I absolutely LOVED this cycling tour! It truly felt like I was seeing the “real” Bali, away from the usual tourist spots. We visited a local family’s home, cycled through stunning marigold and rice fields, discovered temples off the beaten track, and were completely immersed in Bali’s beautiful, lush nature. Darma was an EXCELLENT guide. You can tell how much he genuinely loves his job, and he went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed every moment of the experience. He was knowledgeable, friendly and attentive, and made the whole day feel very personal. Even our breakfast stop was a destination in its own right, with breathtaking views over the rice fields and a Bali swing, the perfect place to stop, take it all in and simply enjoy being there. I loved every single moment of this experience. It was one of the highlights of my time in Bali, and I would absolutely love to come back and try another one of their tours. I can highly recommend this company to anyone looking for an authentic, memorable and beautifully immersive Bali experience.
Brilliant day out gently rolling downhill on quiet roads, with stops at interesting places including a firefly conservation project that Greenbike support.
Great day out! Perfect combination of cycling and nature and cultural information. Bikes were right size and adequately maintained. And Amin was a friendly, well organised and informative guide. My only problem was, they offered hotel pickup but there was nowhere on the tripadvisor sign-up to enter my hotel. The contact link on booking site didn't bring a reply. I had to gogle Greenbikes then whatsapp them- response this way was prompt and helpful.
We did the Kintamani Cultural and Nature Cycling Tour and it was one of my favourite activities in Ubud. Our guide Ben (and his colleague) were fantastic. Our group of 3 ladies in our late 40s and 50s, along with 2 other 50/60 year old ladies had the best time and were so well taken care of. My friend was worried about her ability to do, from a fitness perspective, but it really was all down hill and minimal pedaling was required…she - and all of us - were so glad we did! Highly recommend. Good safety and no one was left behind. Note that your first stop is brekkie at Greenkubu cafe which is included so don’t eat first like we did!
Amin was a stellar guide. He showed us the local places, and adapted the trip to suit our needs. We really liked the coffee tasters, and the tasty lunch. Showing us the local balinese house was a highlight.
This was by far one of the best excursions we’ve done so far! Our guide Ya was amazing. Friendly super knowledgeable and fun! His energy was infectious and the tour was awesome! If you are looking to immerse yourself in the culture truly learn or see what it’s like in the life of a Balinese person this is the one for you! Lunch was delicious! The atmosphere was so good. The bike ride felt amazing the route is awesome!
An excellent ride, well led by Dwi, backed up by Wayan An easy cycle through traditional villages, jungle and rice terraces - and almost all downhill! It was well organised from hotel pick up and drop off to snack breaks and lunch. The bikes were also good
By far the highlight of our holiday - we did the Greenbike Cultural ride and the Tudak Cepung waterfall ride. Our guides, Gede & Arizon were very knowledgeable, & happily answered our (many) questions about the places we saw, Balinese culture, and everyday life in Bali. We passed through a diverse range of villages, agricultural areas and forests. The tours were well paced, relaxed, and Gede let us know times/distance along the route. The rides were physically easy,. The drivers and guides are local, and connected to their communities, and provided an authentic commentary. And the meals/snacks were delicious!
From the on time hotel pickup until dropping off at hotel later, the day went perfect. Cycling was smooth, relaxed, informative and very professional. Louis and the rest of the team on the day looked after us great, first class.
I have been coming to Bali for 20 years, and this was the best experience I've had, thanks to my guide Nyoman. He taught me so much about the Balinese culture and you could tell he really loves sharing his culture with others. The itinerary took us through many different landscapes, from the jungle, through quiet village streets and incredible rice paddy fields. It was all downhill, so by the end of the trip, I didn't feel tired. I didn't want the tour to end! Thank you Nyoman!
We had an outstanding day riding with the green bike team and enjoying their excellent food also. Our favourite driver Wayan knew they were the best in Bali and he was right. Pick this tour.
We had a wonderful bike tour with our family! The guides were friendly, thoughtful, and made it fun for our 5 year old. We visited a real local home, learned about Balinese culture, recycling challenges, and local farming, and even saw fireflies. Mostly downhill and suitable for all fitness levels. Highly recommended!
Excellent guide. Would 100% reccomend for anyone! It was really nice to see what Bali looked like before tourism hit. It was especially great to go into a traditional Balinese house. The coffee plantation was also a secret gem.
A fantastic trip from Kintamani village through the jungle, villages and rice fields. A visit to a traditional home was insightful and our guide Wayan explained about family life and ceremony in Bali. The views were stunning and the whole trip was downhill so easy for all ages. Thoroughly recommend Greenbike for this trip.
Loved the trip and great guide. Eventhough it wa on a bik, it was really about the cultural experience, visited a typical balinees home and rice fields. The biking is just downhill, only your breaks need to work. Thanks for the great tour
This trip is a great way to get to see smaller villages, jungle farms, rice fields and better understand Bali traditions. Our guide was welcoming, knowledgeable and open to sharing his culture. It was such fun, with beautiful views! We were sad to have it end.
Beautiful landscape. A wonderful trip. A highlight of my Ubud experience. The ride was mostly downhill and very relaxing! Excellent guides.
Wonderful Tour with Darma! The drive to the north was long at first but worth it, because the bikeride was mostly downhill and we had a lot of time to look around. The Guide, Darma, was patient with all our questions. We loved the food at Greenkubu and the coffee at the firefly protection area. The view over the rice terrace was stunning! Totally a great way to experience a glimps of the real Bali.
This was a fantastic tour Ben was the best guide, it did rain all day but we still had a great day,it really gets you off the main areas ,all the staff make sure you are safe at all times.
We loved our cycle tour through the countryside today! Our guide Darma was friendly and taught us about Balinese lifestyle and culture. The bikes were great, scenery interesting and food fabulous.
Difficulty of the ride: much harder than expected for an experienced road biker. Several people in our group struggled, even on the easy path options, and got off and walked our bikes a few times. There were a couple steep downhills into a puddle into a steep uphill that were tricky. The actual paved roads were fine, but in the jungle/fields there are very thin paths, some with sharp turns and bumpy dirt paths hardly wider than the bicycle tire, and I went into the bushes twice. It was mostly downhill, and I think I braked more than I pedaled on this ride. The tour: great, with well-spaced stops and delicious buffet lunch. The guides were helpful and would stop traffic to let our group make turns when we were on the streets. It was a beautiful way to see the countryside. I just wish the trail conditions were better explained in this booking, because what should have been a beautiful, easy, downhill ride was made quite challenging by some of the trail conditions. I would not recommend this to people without some off-road biking experience.
This was one of our best day trip around Ubud. It's a tour where you can enjoy the nature of Bali and get culture input at the same time. Amin was a great guide,he provided a lot of information about the balinese culture. The tour is not heavy ( feasible with kids).
That tour was a delightful way to explore the countryside and learn a bit about local life. The bikes are in great condition, and helmets are provided along with cold water. The stops are interesting, and the snacks and lunch provided are lovely. Our guides were helpful and looked after us to ensure we stayed safe and happy. I'd say the trails are not for beginner cyclists or anyone who isn't moderately confident rider. I did fall into a ditch, but that was because of my lack of skill on the bike, not the fault of the tour company in any way. Just be aware that some parts of the trail aren't so easy. It's mostly downhill all the way. I was well looked after after my fall and was driven to most of the rest of the stops to meet up with my group and enjoy the rest of the day.
I had a great time with Ben. It was just enough of a workout/challenge to deserve a spa treatment at the hotel after. Wear sunscreen & bug spray!
All I can say is wow. The staff is amazing. The bike tool was great. The food was amazing. They looked after us they were kind they were considerate. They showed us beautiful things highly recommended. The brakes were fine. That's what you need. What are I would've liked. I'm more modern bike. But I do get used all the time. So do I recommend them? Yes, 100%.
Amin was the perfect guide for this adventurous cycle down Maunt Batur. Easy cycling as it was all downhill and Amin took us off beaten tracks and lanes through beautiful landscapes and peaceful rice fields where I saw no other tourists at all. Amin’s extensive local knowledge led me to hidden locations to buy local produce at good prices, and he was enthusiastic to show and tell me about many aspects of Balinese culture as we travelled through the countryside. We ended the tour with a tasty lunch of local food in a beautiful location. A thoroughly enjoyable tour worth taking to experience the real Bali away from the crowded tourist places.
A great day. Friendly guide, easy cycling on an interesting variety of paths, a good way to see countryside areas. Nice jungle stop for Balinese coffee, and a lovely lunch at the end.
Highly recommend, well worth it. The bike tour allowed you to see the more authentic side of Bali - biking to a local home, villages, and rice paddies. The guides were excellent while you were biking, one in the front one in the back , so you felt very safe. Not physically taxing since it’s basically all downhill but would say you need okay balance as there were a couple bumpy parts. Breakfast and lunch was at a beautiful restaurant and the food was fresh and accommodated vegetarians. Definitely worth doing this tour.
This is my 2nd time with Green Bike, and once again, it has been a fantastic experience. Beyond cycling, the tour offers a deep dive into Balinese culture, making it so much more than just a ride. We truly enjoyed our conversations with Yoga—he’s a genuine and knowledgeable guide who shared inspiring insights about Balinese traditions. One of the highlights was hearing about his childhood pastime of playing with spiders, which added a unique and personal touch to the experience. If you’re looking for an enjoyable way to explore Bali, get some exercise, and soak in the scenery with a friendly and experienced guide, this tour is absolutely worthwhile!
I did the tour on 31 Jan. It was a bit cloudy, but no rain and the weather was perfect for some outdoor activities. The 2 guides led the tour. They were so caring, putting your safety first and make the trip so enjoyable. They would make multiple quick stops to inform you of what‘s ahead, in terms of road conditions, coffee break, etc. and give the options on biking routes. The downhill biking is not tiring at all. If you like the tour more challenging, make sure you choose the bumpy off the road route when the option is presented. Highly recommend.
This bike trail is absolutely incredible—custom-designed and stunningly beautiful! Along the way, you'll encounter fantastic stops that offer a deep dive into authentic Balinese culture, complete with fascinating insights and unique experiences. The food stops are also a highlight, offering delicious local flavors. The guides are top-notch—knowledgeable, friendly, and truly passionate about sharing their culture. I highly recommend this experience!
From the minute we were picked up bang on time, the entire day was sensational. Breakfast, morning tea and lunch was excellent. This is truly value for money and the best part of a day experiencing semi remote tracks and small villages. We’ll return for sure ✅✅
Fabulous day out guided by Amin. We were picked up promptly from our hotel and dropped off again later. Marvellous breakfast and lunch. Approx 22km of cycling almost all downhill. Combination of sealed roads, paved tracks and unpaved tracks. Many thanks again.
Amazing day. From the beautiful restaurant meeting point with breakfast included before doing the 22km cycle through rice terraces, farms, villages and jungle. Amin our guide was caring, informative and kept at a pace that suited us. Many stops for photos and tests. Lunch back at the same restaurant before our driver took us back to the hotel. Would highly recommend it.
The tour is absolutely fantastic! It’s all downhill and super easy. You pass through villages, back alleys, jungle forest, rice fields for a beautiful experience of the Balinese landscape and culture. The guides are super friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Not to mention that they make sure to keep you super safe on the road. Yoga, our guide is a sweet heart! He took great pictures and stopped every time one of us wanted to see something or take pictures. The people that I did the tour with were also amazing. Bali vibes at their best!
Such great value, really easy biking, lots to see and our guide Ben was a wealth of knowledge. The breakfast and lunch were delicious and accomodating to dietary requirements
We recommend this tour for family with kids over the ages of elementary school level. Our 8 yr old son enjoyed a lot with all the insects and animals that we met during the cycling, especially the huge spiders at the spider house of the local people. Our guide (Yoga) was really nice! He treated our son so nice and tried to make him happy by introducing cultures and natures of Kintamani. He can even speak Japanese very well, so our guiding language was Japanese that we did not expect. All the nature views and winds of Kitamani were really relaxing for me and my husband and 21km downhill cyclying was a just nice distance and was not tiring at all even for a 8 yr old boy.
We went with our 4 kids on the tour and really enjoyed it. We were picked up by our homestay and went to have breakfast before going up the hill by car to get on the bikes. The bikes were really good and each child had the appropriate size plus helmet (we were asked about age and weight of the kids beforehand) and everything was prepped well with water bottles and very clear instructions. We were led by two guides, one up front, one at the rear who guided us through wonderful scenic roads and off-road paths. We made several Stopps and the guide was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions about daily life and Balinese habits. At a Stopp for Balinese pancakes the kids were invited to craft animals from palmleaves. The whole tour was about 22km with several Stopps and mostly downhill so everyone was able to do that. When the kids had a small accident the guides had a first aid kit at hand. We felt extremely well taken care off the entire tour and learned a lot while being in stunning nature. This Was a great family experience for us and we would highly recommend it. The lunch at the very end left us well before we were dropped or at our hotel again. Thank you Greenbike Adventures for this wonderful experience.
Whilst I enjoyed the scenery and insight into Balinese life. I did not appreciate the driver being an hour late, my bikes gears slipping and jamming causing me to fall, the guide telling me off for booking on Viator, the company not responding to my email and finally that I was placed in a car with a clearly sick family and I'm now sick myself.
We really enjoyed the ride, our guide Wayan lead the way and was super enthusiastic about answering all our questions, very friendly team at green bike adventures. We are a family of mum and 3 kids, 16,13 and 11 and this was an easy comfortable ride for all. Highly recommend this way to venture out of Ubud and see the village life of Bali. Love love loved our day!
My family and I really enjoyed the tour. The cycling was very easy and our tour guide Darma was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. A beautiful tour, would highly recommend!
Great tour with Gede. Very friendly and gave some great background on Bali. Easy ride, about 95% downhill and he made sure to give easy directions and point out any possible hazards on the way. Option to go a little off them main road to see a bit deeper in the countryside. Highly recommend this tour, it takes you away from the crowded tourist areas into the peaceful countryside, down roads that you'd probably never see on your own.
A brilliant day out, with Yoga and Agus. They were very friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable hosts. The ride was mainly downhill, on and off roads and rice field tracks. Felt safe at all time with a local cyclist front and rear. Thoroughly recommend 👌🏼
Highly recommend! Such a beautiful way to see Taro Village and the paddy fields! Our guide Wayan was incredible- he answered all our questions, was very attentive and made our experience all the more enjoyable. Highly recommend for anyone who knows how to ride a bike and is looking for a wonderful way to interact with the locals.
Absolutely fantastic, amazing, professional, so much impressions. Professional guides with a very high knowledge in culture, agriculture, religion, etc. Ben and Arizona have us a fantastic day. Worth every penny. You must do this trip. The tracks was easy and mostly downhill. There were options about difficulty along the way.
Thank you for the wonderful day. You had two tour guides and made it safe blocking traffic. Lots of good explanations of the culture and wonderful lunch. Highly recommend
Highly recommend this tour, 90% downhill. Very knowledgeable & informative guide. Very friendly, I would encourage anyone to take this tour.
Excellent gentle ride down expiring areas inaccessible by car. V informative and great value for money. Lovely lunch at end too. Our guide Gudday was excellent.
The bikes were in good condition . The route and stop overs were great. But the best part were the guides Yoga and Madi (hope got names right). They both helped, taught and accommodated our requests always especially Yoga. Thanks very much.
