Had no experience surfing. Within 30 minutes, was able to catch a wave. Chip, my instructor was patient with me and attentive. Gave me feedback on how to improve and what to look out for. Would absolutely do this activity again when I’m back in Bali.

Me and my 12 year old son had a very good time. It was the first time we surfed. The day before the session we were sent links to read and watch and that really helped. Already booked my second session and highly recommend.

We tried a UP2U surf as we last tried one of the companies located on the beach last time we went surfing in Bali (Jan 2024). Communication was good via whatsapp, had to pay in advance which was different to previously but also fine for me. We went to an actual building as opposed to meeting the vendor on the beach. Lockers were provided to keep your stuff in, although you leave your key there and hope it stays safe (ours was). The owner who handles all of the bookings is there and allocates instructors etc. We don’t have a lot of experience as it was only our 2nd time surfing but generally the teachers are the same no matter where you go on the beach I have noticed. My particular teacher was quite hands-off, since I am a beginner was expecting more guidance throughout but never came. My kids instructors were excellent however, friendly and engaging and ensured their safety throughout. At the end some pictures and a few videos were shared with us (google link was sent to us) which was a nice touch and great memorabilia. Was expecting to have to pay for them but it was included in the price. There was a low tide due to the full moon which made it difficult to surf, so we restricted it to one day only, when we did it previously we did it three times as the conditions were better but that is no fault of this company! They offer a basic group shower facility at the back of the shop, which is good to rinse off the sand before heading home. Overall would certainly recommend this company.

My son had his private surf lesson. He had three lessons and had progress well. Our booking process was very easy and I get a reply very fast. At his last day of lesson, he got on very well with his coach and he had an amazing experience !!

This is my 4th times taking lesson in UP2U!! Absolutely loving it. The coach is energetic, and fun! From beginner to intermediate, would really recommend this place for taking lessons and advancing your skills

My first surf lesson was a private one on with the lovely Utung. Very professional and patient. Weather wasn’t in my favour but also it’s not that easy! Second one on one private was with Darwin. Conditions were better and I got plenty of waves to ride. Best 2.5 hours of fun, laughs and getting back out there! Couldn’t recommend these guys highly enough!! Wish I had more time to do again. Paul and the guys are awesome! This is the perfect experience if you are new or novice to surfing. The waves were small and manageable and you get 1:1 individual attention. Glad I did this. Would definitely recommend.

Our daughters (14 and 10) had a blast with their instructors, as did I. These guys get you in wave after wave and keep it fun and relaxed. Can’t beat this deal

I have taken multiple surfing classes in the past, but nothing beat my experience taking 4 days one-on-one (private) surfing lesson with Up2U Surf School in Kuta beach Bali, which in my opinion give you the most for your buck as it is surprisingly affordable. Don’t be discouraged on the appearance of the school as it is literally just a shack on the beach with some umbrellas. However, unlike the other fancy surfing schools, Up2U Surf School really pay attention to what you need learn / to do, beyond just standing up on the board. Paul, who runs the school is really knowledgeable about all things surfing; he texted me everyday the reading materials and videos (nicely crafted proprietary) on theories/ techniques / skills and surfing awareness before the instructor showed me in person that specific techniques / skills and awareness the following day; I think it completely makes sense as now I do have idea what the instructor talks about. I also had an amazing time learning surfing techniques and skills with Adios, who critiques me constantly in the water and through the photographs / videos taken throughout the session and helped me improved on those 4 days. By the end of day 4, I have a confidence that I can surf decently, paddling to the back of the wave through a channel safely, dealing with the wave and stay safe, and catch some waves Definitely highly recommend to go learn surfing with Up2U surfing school and I will definitely come back to do some of their surf trips. Having taken my son for lessons at Up2U Surf School last year, I took him back there on our return to Bali and once again it was fantastic. My son had a fantastic time and has said that he wants to surf more often as a result of his experience. Instructors are clearly good at what they do and my son improved a lot. This experience helped him have a fantastic holiday in Bali and I will certainly take him back when we go to Bali next time. The surf school also share photos on instagram so you can have them to remember the magical moments too.

This was our first time doing Surf lessons with my 7YO son. Thanks to our instructors we managed to catch waves stand up in no time. Location is great with showers, toilets and safe deposit box to put valuable items. Instructors and Paul the owner are great! They also took very nice shots of us! Already extend for 5 more lessons!

I book private lesson for my son and from what I saw, the coach give clear and sharp instructions start from stretching, basic techniques then the practical itself. The coach not only teach how to surf but they also working very hard to keep my son safe from the big waves. If you never learn surfing and want to take one - UP2U is the best place to go for you! You may think it's all about how you stand on the waves but Paul & his teams go beyond by helping us to get to know better about the basic theories like safety and how to read the wind and waves. Taking 5 private lessons package and it was really affordable and really worth every penny you spent in here! You're going to get good instructors (& good time of course) and day-by-day you get challenged to step up your learning - challenging but it was really fun. Kudos to Paul & his teams especially adios & pang for being able to deliver an amazing experience on my surfing journey !

This is my very first time learning surfing ever, and UP2U Surf School Bali is the best choice that I choose for my surfing lesson, and I chose the private surf lessons. I receive the warmest welcome from Paul when I reached the UP2U Surf location. At first I was so nervous and afraid that I couldn't catch the waves or even stand up on the board, but Pang, my coach directed and taught me very well on my first lesson. I was afraid of ocean, waves and sea water previously, but thank you for UP2U Surf School Bali team, I managed to overcome my fear and can did quite well for the beginner level. I've been wanting to give surfing a go for a long time but coming from the UK never had much of an opportunity to give it a real go, now in Bali I looked to find a surf school and came across up2u. From the minute I booked Paul was onto me with all the info I needed, I'm only on my second day and standing up with confidence and catching small waves the instruction has been clear and precise and constantly reviewing your progress with each wave. The content you get sent each day before your next lesson to give you an idea of what is coming plus something I didn't expect was to be filled with all the knowledge you need to take off on your own by the end of your course. I've learnt so much already in just two days about how waves are generated and how wind affects the surf and I'm abouts to head into all the info on channels and rips so that I can progress further to go surfing out the back by the end of this week I'm super stoked and can't wait to get out there again. A dream has come to life and this new hobby has grabbed me all tanks to the safe coaching of Paul and his team DO NOT LOOK ANY FURTHER THAN THESE GUYS. I really liked the surfing experience because I had a lot of fun with everyone there and u guys gave me a fun surfing experience. Everyone was also very nice and I would love to go back to Bali just to go surfing again with you guys.

Definitely fun experience. The coach is friendly and experienced. Paul is honest to recommend that I don't need a private lesson but can have semi private with my son. The trips to Nusa Dua were a step up from Kuta. Surely will go back!

Very well located in a beach for beginners. And the best service I saw in Bali. Besides the good teachers, they have nice facilities and after surf they showed us pictures and videos of our surfing to correct our technique. Amazing service and experience. Absolutely recommended

The team at UP2U is very professional and they make you feel at easy from the get go. They give clear instructions, maintain professionalism, encourage you, and also equips you with video references to make you whole learning experience even better. What i can see straight away from my first experience learning with UP2U is that they really care about developing your skills as well as your safety out there. I came across this surf school from Instagram add and I contacted Paul and arrange my surfing class, all communication was swift and Paul give me a link to study online to study a bit about surfing. My instructor was nice and patient with me the whole time and we chatted also in between breaks. Paul the owner was also there to check on us at the beach and take photos while I was surfing. He also explain to me the things i need to improve while showing me the photos that he took which is nice for him to give such feedback which i appreciate a lot.

First of all Great trainers!! Well equipped with all surfing gears. All gears were provided at the surf school! Was so easy to find the Surf School and all transaction online via PayPal was so convenient. Feedback was given after every lesson at the office which is great. Good spot to surf and fun.
