Half-day Tour: Uluwatu Temple And Kecak Fire Dance Show

Was alright overall. Perhaps change the beach location, Padang Padang Beach is extremely rocky, not ideal for swimming at all. The Temple and Kecak Fire Dance was great! I recommend bringing a small pillow to sit on, the seats get very hard.

The temple itself is perched right on the edge of a massive, dramatic cliffside, offering sweeping, majestic views of the Indian Ocean breaking below. The main event was the Kecak Fire Dance show at sunset, and it completely blew us away. Watching dozens of performers chanting in perfect harmony against the backdrop of a fiery Bali sunset was mesmerizing, and the energy of the performance was incredible. The detailed storytelling, vibrant traditional costumes, Hanuman the white monkey character interacting with the crowd, and the grand finale with dramatic rings of fire were absolutely unforgettable. A quick tip for other travelers: it gets exceptionally crowded, so make sure to get there early to secure a good seat in the amphitheater. Seeing the ancient temple cliffs transition from golden hour into the night performance is a bucket-list experience you cannot miss!

Operator was Hire Bali Driver and the driver’s name Berata. He was great! Picked us up from our hotel in Nusa Dua and took us to GWK and then Uluwata Temple / Dance, to a restaurant and delivered back home. A charming guy who was great at English. This is a much much better way of doing the trip than just hiring Grabs or you’ll just get stuck at the Temple for ages if you do that. Ask for Berata (driver’s name) especially if you are in Nusa Dua

I had a problem with my join-in tour with another operator I booked through Klook. I wanted to focus on the Uluwatu Temple and Kecak Dance Tour, so I asked ChatGPT for nearby tour operators in Ubud. Fortunately, Hire Bali Driver was recommended. I had a fantastic experience with Wah Ko. Even while driving, he shared his knowledge about the tour. He was incredibly hospitable and great at taking vid/pictures. Overall, I had a great experience with this operator. Initially, I was hesitant because they mentioned that Pandawa Beach wasn’t included in the visit. However, Wah Ko explained that the cliff I wanted was actually at the Uluwatu Temple. I will recommend it to my friends and family!

The entire experience was mesmerising and filled with fun , we went to GWK , Padang Padang beach and uluwatu temple , the sunset at uluwatu followed by the kechak dance was amazing ! . A very memorable experience for us. We met our daughter’s high school classmates at the dance. How cool is that. We’re all from Melbourne and haven’t seen each other for about at least 15-20 years. It’s WOW. Gusde our guide look after us with care, very polite and really good at his job. Highly recommended. I will request him next time we’re back. All good with him.

I would highly recommend this tour if you are after a quick day trip to Uluwatu, it includes a stopover at Padang Padang beach, before going to Uluwatu temple for Kecak performance at sunset. Cost of the tour includes all your admissions, no fuss at all. I had a wonderful experience with my driver Krisda who is incredibly professional and friendly!

Berata, was our driver he picked us up promptly from our Resort Lobby. He gave us time to visit the attractions. He was polite and informative. We returned to our Resort after a good day. The fire dance was the highlight.

Kantun was a good driver and very conscientious about directing us and showing us where we needed to go at each location. The dance show was fantastic -- despite a few rain showers. The temple, other than its location on the cliff, was a bit underwhelming. While Padang Padang Beach is beautiful, it is quite small for the number of tourists who go there. It is also impractical to suggest swimming there for a few minutes and then head off to the temple and dance show. But we're glad we saw the beach, and, as vegetarians, we weren't in favor of the seafood dinner tour option, so this tour was the best choice for us.

This is a great tour that takes the hassles out of ensuring you have a great experience seeing the famous Kecak Dance at sunset. I thought it might be a small group tour but was pleasantly surprised for this price it was a full private tour just my fantastic driver Wedana who took me first to Padang Padang beach where I enjoyed a swim, a cocktail and relaxing on the sand. Then we drove to the temple and my driver Wedana sorted the entry tickets to the temple and the dance, there was no queue, no waiting, no stress. The dance performance was fantastic. Wedana was then waiting exactly where he’d indicated to meet me and drive me home. Great experience thank you.

Absolutely incredible day with Putra – truly an outstanding and knowledgeable driver! From start to finish, he made our experience seamless, fun, and informative. His local insights and warm personality added so much value to our trip, and we felt completely at ease the entire time. Padang Padang Beach was extremely busy (as expected!), but a real bucket list item ticked off. Next stop was the breathtaking Uluwatu Temple. The views over the cliffs are something else, and the temple itself has such a spiritual presence. Be warned though – the monkeys here are cheeky! A couple of people had their glasses snatched, but Putra had already warned us and helped keep us alert and safe. We wrapped up the day with the incredible Kecak Fire Dance at sunset – a mesmerizing and powerful performance that truly captures the magic of Balinese culture. Putra explained the story behind the dance beforehand, which made it even more meaningful. Couldn’t recommend Putra more highly – if you want an unforgettable day with someone who genuinely cares and knows Bali inside-out, he’s your guy!

I booked an excursion to go to Uluwatu, it was an incredible day, superb view, incredible temple, kancak dance and seafood platter facing the sea. My driver Manik was incredible, kind, smiling, attentive, without him this excursion would have been different I think. I would like to thank Manik for helping me discover Uluwatu. I highly recommend Manik, the best driver.

The tour was exactly as advised. Our driver Wedana was punctual, informative, organised and very pleasant. He attended to all the tickets and entrances etc and gave us time to enjoy each place we visited and ensured we had an easy meeting point to rejoin him afterwards. BE AWARE OF MONKEYS! The monkeys in the Uluwatu temple area are quite out of control. The monkey tried to take off the sandals of the three year old girl in my group, and scratched her mum while she was trying to protect her daughter. We have to rush to hospital to get stitches and vaccines. I would say this place is not suited for family with young children, as the monkey clearly targeted young children.

Driver was very friendly and hospitable. The temple and Kewak dance show was very interesting. Seeing the monkeys was fun.

The tour was perfect for half a day. The beach was absolutely stunning and so nice. The temple was amazing at sunset and the Kecak dance was simply incredible! A big thankyou to our guide Marco for all the help and knowledgable tips!

I had an amazing experience with Manick as my driver and guide. After mentioning how much I liked coffee, he offered to stop at a coffee tasting tour that was an awesome experience. He also gave me a lot of information about the temple and its history and made my first day in Bali extremely memorable!

We were picked up from our Villa by our tour guide Vicky. He was super friendly and very knowledgeable of the area. He was so easy to talk too, and explained what to do and what not to do regarding the monkeys at Padang Padang Beach and Uluwatu Temple. We had a 1 year old with us and felt more than safe with Vicky’s guidance throughout our trip, and he took all our photos! We can’t recommend this tour and Vicky enough. Also the car ride vibes were a 10/10!

Our driver spoke very little English and was not informative of what we were doing or where we were going. It was very hot and no water in the car until we asked for it and was a very long wait at the temple for the show and had to ask all the questions to find out what was happening

Uluwatu has such beautiful scenic coastal areas. It’s interesting cultural experience watching the Kecak dance in the evening. Our driver Sunarta is accommodating to our requests and a good guide for our trip.

Our Guido‘s name is Dekwi! We are satisfied and enjoyed with him. He took us to Padang Padang Beach but my husband doesn’t like to stay there! It is very beautiful beach but too many people and humid. Then he took us to Lumbung Sari Pecatu! We could try several coffee and tea! And Luwan coffee! It was not special for us but very interesting! We thank you for Dekwi to have a beautiful experience ! Thank you indeed Dekwi^^

Simply excellent. From the beginning to the end. Very well organized and our tour guide - apart from his exceptional English - provided us a lot of help, making sure that we, for example, behaved the right way while confronting monkeys, who stole right in front of us smartphones, sun and prescription glasses, bags and hats from other tourists; we remained unharmed thanks to our guide - who also intervened several times to protect us. Kecak Fire Dance Show follows the same Ramayana story as everywhere in Indonesia. But don't get mistaken: the performance is unique and, even if the story is classic, you'll enjoy it a lot. If you miss this trip, you'll deeply regret it afterwards. Highly recommended. By the way, communication with the company was top-notch, too.

Agusto was a great guide! He was very prompt picking me up and knew where to go and be to have the most authentic, smooth afternoon. It was really nice that he gave guidance in some places but still left time for me to explore on my own in each place! I would definitely recommend this to solo travelers or groups.

Benik is a wonderful tour guide. Very kind and speaks English well. We were able to understand everything he said, and he was very gracious. He even had cold towels for us after the beach. Benik picked us up and took us to a beach in Uluwatu. It was very relaxing on the big blue pillow chairs to have something to drink. However the water was pretty nasty with more trash than I’ve ever seen in the water at any beach in my life. After about an hour there, we went directly to the fire dance, which was very interesting. Overall, I would say our guide, Benik, made it excellent.

It was great to have Peter as our driver. He was very kind and helpful. The tour was difficult for my husband as he has mobility issues.

Hire Bali Driver (HBD) is a fantastic tour and taxi company in Bali. This was the second tour they helped us with: We had originally booked a similar tour with another company, but when that fell through, HBD was able to help us find a driver on the very same day to do a customized version of their Uluwatu half-day tour. And then when my husband fell ill on the way, our driver showed absolutely zero annoyance or irritation about having to drive my husband all the way back to our hotel and then take me alone back to Uluwatu for seeing the dance ceremony. Our driver’s name was Dekwi, and he was friendly, polite, open, and informative. I highly recommend this company for any driving tour or taxi ride you may want to take in Bali. You just contact them via WhatsApp, and they respond quickly and are just so helpful. We can’t say enough about how happy we’ve been with their services during our Bali holiday.

Gorgeous view from Uluwatu and fascinating fire dance with great costumes. Our guide was extremely helpful in making certain our experience was enjoyable. The monkeys are aggressive at the temple and the sun quite hot so having a guide to assist really made it enjoyable plus he knew all the shortcuts to avoid the heavy traffic. Highly recommend!

The Uluwatu Temple experience is right up there with the best.
