East Bali Tour: Gate Of Heaven, Water Palace, Sleeping Gajah

We got picked up around 5am in the morning. It took about 2 hours to get to our destination. Once we pulled up to the parking lot, we hopped on a bus to get to the Temple. In the meanwhile, we had to be adorned in traditional outfit called sarong. Once we got off the bus, there was a few minutes walk up the hill. However, there are bikes available for the short ride up the hill. For the pictures, we were #69 on the list and the pictures were perfect. Next, we headed out the the King's water park loaded with all kinds of beautiful fish and a small museum. Next we headed to the restaurant for lunch. Food was excellent with beautiful views. Our guide, Nora went over and beyond the itinerary when he took us to a local batik to see the traditional weaving of native clothing, and we also spent sometime at the boutique before heading back to the hotel.

Had a great lunch at the Sleeping Gajah Kitchen & Lounge inside the Wapa di Ume Sidemen Resort Bali. The place is serene & relaxing. If you want to stay away from the city this is the place.... 🫶

An early morning 4am start due to the travel time to the Lempuyang temple. Our friendly driver and guide Prayoga was early and picked us from the hotel. Arrived just before 6:30am to trek up the hill. The temple was stunning in the early morning mist. Photos didn’t take that long and we were able to finish at 7:30am. We then went to the Tirta Gangga a beautiful garden with many koi awaiting a fish feed. The last stop was the Sleeping Gajah a spectacular restaurant overlooking the paddy fields and lush scenery in Sideman. The view from the top was spectacular and the traditional Balinese cuisine. If your looking for traditional Bali with stunning vistas and local scenery this is the 5 star tour.

Took the trip to heavens gate and water temple with Kadek. He was very informative about rhe temples and new where to take the best pictures.

It was great trip. Our guide Gede Putra was very informative and accommodating. He is a safe driver and excellent photographer. Both sites are top notch sightseeing places and the lunch place was magnificent. You have option to swim in their infinity pool if you like.

We had an excellent safe driver (Dewa) for the day which made the experience an enjoyable way to see parts of Bali The Heaven Gateway, coffee plantation, the resort visited all fantastic. The sights and sounds of the city hustle and bustle to the relaxing surroundings of the country towns is well worth the drive and time Our driver “DEWA” deserves a special mention as he’s extremely knowledgeable and showed us an amazing experience.

We had a great time seeing all the sights and relaxing in the infinity pools in Sidemen. Everything went so smoothly.
