Uncle Wayan is very good in tour guiding. He has a valuable knowledge on the history and cultural backgrounds on all the places we visited. This tour is very flexible and can also be customised based on your preference and time constraints. He is well-recommended and for sure we will hire him again in the near future. We also appreciate the arrival flower Leighs that was given to us upon arrival at the airport.👌🏾⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Special thanks also to his boss Julez for arranging this trip for us.

Tegenungan Waterfall is a waterfall in Bali, Indonesia. It is located at the village of Tegenungan Kemenuh, also known as Kemenuh Village on the Petanu River in the Gianyar Regency, north from the capital Denpasar and close to the Balinese artist village of Ubud. The waterfall is isolated but has become a popular tourist attraction. It is one of the few waterfalls in Bali that is not situated in highlands or mountainous territory. The amount and clarity of the water at the site depend on rainfall but it contains green surroundings with fresh water that can be swum in. The waterfall includes varying highs that can be climbed after the descent down stairs to reach it. This attraction also features a viewing point to the jungle and waterfall at the main entrance.
Monkey Forest Ubud holds a significant history intertwined with Balinese culture. Dating back to the 14th century, it has been regarded as a sacred place, housing spiritual forces and guardian spirits. The monkeys, seen as sacred animals, symbolize both protection and mischief, fostering a unique connection between humans and wildlife. In the 20th century, Monkey Forest Ubud gained recognition as a vital conservation area. Efforts were made to preserve its natural beauty, promote responsible tourism, and raise awareness about the cultural and environmental significance. Today, it stands as a cherished sanctuary, where visitors can connect with nature, observe captivating monkey behavior, and support the ongoing conservation efforts.
Tegallalang Rice Fields is situated in a valley that offers extraordinarily scenic lookouts over the terraces and surrounding green landscape. Along with the ones in the villages of Pejeng and Campuhan, Tegallalang Rice Fields form the three most stunning-looking terraced landscapes in Ubud region. Since it has been listed in UNESCO World Heritage site, this place has gained popularity among international travelers. Nevertheless, it is still a great place to wind down and ease your mind as it offers a quiet and relaxing atmosphere.
One of the busiest water temples in Bali, Tirta Empul is a temple considered sacred by Balinese Hindu community. The temple has several holy springs which are said to have been created by The God Indra and believed to be blessed water that could purify those who bathe there. Tirta Empul is dedicated to Vishnu, the Hindu God of water. In the Balinese language, Tirta Empul loosely translated means water gushing from the earth, which for this reason Tirta Empul is regarded as a holy spring. The Tirta Empul Temple includes shrines to Shiva, Vishnu, Brahma, as well as one for Indra and Mount Batur. It is considered one of the five most holy temples in all of Bali and is considered one of the holiest water sources in Bali. You can also find other holy water temples in Bali such as Pura Ulun Danu at Lake Beratan, Pura Tirta Tawar at Gianyar, Pura Tirta Harum at Bangli, Pura Tirta Taman Mumbul at Badung, and many more.

The Jatiluwih rice terraces in the namesake upland village in West Bali are most famous for their dramatic and exotic landscapes. The cool highlands and the breathtaking scenery of this village at the foot of Mount Batukaru makes for wonderful photo opportunities, and serves as a soothing retreat away from the island’s crowded south. Once a UNESCO Cultural Heritage Site candidate, the Jatiluwih rice terraces comprise over 600 hectares of rice fields that follow the flowing topography of the Batukaru mountain range. These are maintained by a traditional water management cooperative known as subak, which dates back to the 9th century. The cooperative itself eventually won recognition as a dominant factor in Bali’s ‘cultural landscape’ entry on the heritage list.
Tanah Lot is claimed to be the work of the 16th-century Dang Hyang Nirartha. During his travels along the south coast he saw the rock-island's beautiful setting and decided to rest there. Some fishermen saw him, and bought him gifts. Nirartha then spent the night on the little island. Later he spoke to the fishermen and told them to build a shrine on the rock, for he felt it to be a holy place to worship the Balinese sea gods. The main deity of the temple is Dewa Baruna or Bhatara Segara, who is the sea god or sea power and these days, Nirartha is also worshipped here. The Tanah Lot temple was built and has been a part of Balinese mythology for centuries. The temple is one of seven sea temples around the Balinese coast. Each of the sea temples was established within eyesight of the next to form a chain along the south-western coast. In addition to Balinese mythology, the temple was significantly influenced by Hinduism.

We had a wonderful time exploring Bali in the 2 day tour with our amazing guide Mr. Wayan Agus Partika. He went above and beyond our expectations, took great care of us and made us feel welcomed in Bali. Partika is very knowledgeable with excellent English communication skills , he is very proud of his heritage and made us understand a little better what true Bali looks like! He accomodated all our wishes and we strongly recommend him for anyone who would like to see Bali!
We booked the 2 day Best of Bali tour. What a fantastic time we had! Amazing sites visited both man made and natural. Our guide Partika was very cheerful, chatty, friendly and knowledgeable - with a deep sense of pride in both his job and if his island. He told and taught us so much during the 2 days. He went over and above what we expected of a guide - to the extent that when we passed by some small roadside stall selling Balinese sweet dumplings (we had been talking a lot about how we like different foods and were eager to sample more typical local delicacies) - he stopped the car and bought some for us! He never rushed us when we lingered too long somewhere, and fulfilled our every wish and answered our every question ( of which there were many). If you like to get to know the history and rich cultural heritage of Bali, WE thoroughly recommend this tour and this tour company to take care of you. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We recently came to visit Bali from the United States of America and made our guided tour through TripAdvisor. The TripAdvisor assigned Mr. Partika as our driver and guide. We had such a wonderful time on this two day tour. Mr. Partika went way beyond the call of duty to make this immensely pleasant and memorable experience for us. He provided deep insights into each of the places we visited and also tirelessly took our photos and videos. He is a thorough gentleman with pleasing manners. We will highly recommend Mr. Partika to everyone for their tours to Bali.
Recently completed this tour in Bali and could not be more satisfied. Our guide Katut Widnana was first class, very knowledgeable & took the time to explain the various sites . Highly recommend this tour ask for Katut you can go wrong 💪💪💪
Highly recommended tour. We booked this tour from the recommendation of a friend who used their services earlier this year. Wayan, the host, is very friendly and insightful. Know many things about Bali and its contents. We visited several temples and cultural attractions. Wayan is amazing. You have to find him when you come to visit Bali!!!
Parti was FANTASTIC!!! I ended up taking my trip alone and was trying to see as much as possible in the shortest amount of time. Parti made that happen without any issue. We saw everything i wanted and more with great descriptions of the activities, equipment needed, and what to expect at each location. He gave me his number to ask any additional questions and was super understanding. I was able to push our start time because I had some work to finish and he had no issue accommodating me. It has been a phenomenal experience at a price that can't be beat. I will recommend to all my friends that visit. Oh and did I mention he's an incredible photographer?!
Our tour guide Wei was so incredible, he shared a lot about Bali and took us to some really great places! He was kind enough to take our photo at every site we were at!! He was amazing! I recommend this company!!
Go ahead book this excursion!!! . We lived the 2 most beautiful days in Bali thanks to Putu. We would never have known Bali this way without him. This experience made us dream from start to finish thanks to the best Guide Putu. He immersed us in the history and roots of his country. Everything was perfect from start to finish. Let yourself be guided carefree and live the real dream. Me, my husband and my 16 year old son recommend this experience 100 percent, let the best guide you. I can't thank you enough for this magical experience, We have stars in our eyes. Thanks thanks thanks
Everything perfect! We’ve done different tours in many days and nothing could be better. They costumize the tour in order of our need. Wayan, overall, with his kidness and professionalism make us a wonderful tour! Thank you for everything! SUPER CONSIGLIATO! 👍🏻
Great way to experience bali. Very informative tour guide. Show us the main sights in Bali. The tour was professional and smooth we didn't rushed at all. Our driver guide Dwiana is also fantastic and speaks fluent english. Informed us many things about Bali. He help us a lot to bargain in art market. Give us reccommendation where to eat local food, change money etc. Over all our tour was fantastic. We will be back to visit the remaining places in Bali and be balinese will be our first choice.
It is our first time in Bali. Our friend came to visit bali last year and touring with wayan from be balinese tour. After deal with itinerary and prices through a very easy communication via whatsapp. Wayan pick us up from our hotel in nusa dua with smile and high enthusiasm. Firs day we went to visit ubud area include the monkey forest and rice terraces plus a few temples. As well he took us to visit famous coffee luwak and traditional house and we share some local dishes wbich is strange but tasty. Wayan did explain and share many things about his culture and welcome our family like his family in his beautiful family home. Our kids loved very much the experience feeding cows in wayan's farmland. Second day we wentt a little further to bedugul area and visit the strawberry farm. Jatiluwih rice terraces was amazing. We end up the tour in tanah lot for sunset. Wayan is a hardworker and loved what he does. We would highly recommend wayan for a tour in bali. He is a kind person and natural. You will understand when you get the same experience as what we had. Wayan is there for you.
We were taken around by Dwiana for the last couple of days and he was one of the most professional drivers we’ve had. Was a pleasure ☺️ thank you! Both him and Wayan are very responsive which is why we chose to work with them👍
Recommended, very good tour program which allows you to visit all the signature place of Bali. It was peak period due to national holiday, so we caught up in traffic a lot. Our tour guide Pak Sudira adjusted the tour according to traffic. We didn’t manage to get to sacred monkey forest and waterfall because we requested to spend longer time in Besakih and take the ritual bath at Tirta Empul. Pak Sudira showed us and join us for the prayer as well. Do let your tour guide know your special request, customize your program according to your liking. If I were to come to Bali again, I would skip Tegalalang Rice Terrace as day 1 program is tight, and we have Jatiluwih Rice Terrace on day 2. This tour program is also the best value among all tour I initially surveyed and bookmarked, finally I choose this after thorough study. I hope my good review and push this tour higher.
Visit to Bali for my first time. A little bit challenging as i have no idea about Bali. Lucky my workmate recommend me someone in Bali. Wayan, the guy who i talk with on whatsapp before my arrival. He help to arrange my trip and help me to organise all of my plan. I choose many places i want to cover while also i have to work in some days. But good thing about it that i able to personalize the trip and make it even easier for me as a solo traveller. Wayan propose me to visit the main attraction such as rice terraces, monkey forest, tanah lot, ulundanu bratan, nusa penida and in ubud i also did water rafting and ride a scooter. Unfortunetaly i can't do everything as on the first week and the last week i have to work online. So i missed a few places and hope to comeback again next time. Bali is a beautiful places especially for solo nomad like me. Many places suitable to work. All is easy and you can do it by your self. But to have a local expert to help you even better which will really help you to organise everything very well. Wayan is there for you in Bali!!! Thanks
Staying in Wayan's homestay for my second time and it was a great experiences to be back again after 2 years of covid. This time we did a few tours suggested by him and it was fantastic. Our driver Wee did a great job. Explain many things about Bali and we went to visit temple ceremony in Besakih Temple. Unforgetable experience and most do while you in Bali. Stay in wayan's place. Be Bali Hut!!
Very nice experience to meet Wayan the owner of where i am staying while in Ubud. As a solo traveller, Wayan help me to arrange some trip around Bali. I did cooking class, rice terraces and temple. My first experience to be on the scooter with him. So much fun and thank you to be a wonderful host and tour guide WAYAN..
The driver is very considerate and kind. I will definitely visit Bali one more time and meet my driver again
We did 2 day tours on Bali with Wayan Sudira. Very nice tour arrangement and they can fill the only places we want to visit and also very flexible in prices and time. Tour was excellent, guide is fluent english and clean car. Overall is excellent!!!
I was on a short visit to Bali and Be Balinese helped me book and organize places I wanted to see even before I arrived. I covered north and west Bali in 2 days. The whole schedule was thought of and diverse to include different experiences like waterfalls, temples, local markets etc. I had a wonderful time with my guide Wayan Sudira who helped take great pics too and was informative, friendly and polite. Highly recommend the tour to anyone who is looking for a quick inclusive tour around Bali.
I booked this tour through the hotel travel agent and it turn out a good experience for me and my family. As I was travelling with young children ,Wayan was patient with all our requests and last minute changes. I highly recommend Wayan and work with him on the itinerary for your day trip(s), he will planned the trip and accommodate to have the best Bali experience.
During my short stay in Bali, I took 2 days private tour with Julez at Be Balinese Tour and I can’t say thanks enough to him for making my trip memorable. His rich knowledge of Balinese culture helps me to understand and get connected with this magical island. He is thoughtful and also easy going so we’re comfortable making conversations during the trip. Julez is more than a tour guide but a friend. We’ve managed to visit the Goa Gajah Temple, Prapen Jewelry & Artifacts, Tanah Lot Temple, Lempuyang Temple, Water Palace. All of these places are amazing. Stopping by Layana Warung to have lunch near a waterfall is also a wonderful experience. Highly recommend Be Balinese Tour!! Julez, you are a star 😊
We did two full day tours with be Balinese and had the pleasure of Widana ajus being our driver. The Kintamani Besakih Mother Temple tour and the Bedugul Tanah Lot tour. We told him we weren’t here just for the Instagram pictures and he always attempted to take us to the areas with the least tourists (like the rice paddies). There are two separate areas to enter and he took us to the entrance with the least vendors. He also sheltered us from the people selling stuff and wanting us to pay extra for pictures. He did a great job as a picture taker for us. We mentioned we wanted to eat at a local spot instead of a touristy joint, so he found a great local spot for lunch where he translated the menu and ordered food for us. He also provided some extras like a sorong to enter the temple (so we wouldn't have to buy one), bottled water, and toilet paper. Don't worry about driving around Bali and getting in an accident since he is one of the most cautious drivers ever. Both tours were excellent and we had a great time hanging out with Wi for those two days.
It was an amazing experience taking this tour. Wayan Juli has been the best guide/photographer we could have asked for. His cultural knowledge and fluency in English made us feel really comfortable around him. Wayan also arranged for a nusa penida trip for us which was also wonderful. Highly recommended for anyone who is exploring bali for the first time.
Great tour wirh a very knowlefgeable driver, Wayam Sudira, who really went the extra mile to explain thw history, culture and customs. I'd highly recommemd
Great tour with a very knowledgwable driver Wayan Sudira who went the ex5ra mile. Woulf highly recommend
Wayan was our driver/guide during our stay in Bali and we truly recommend his services. He is professional, knowledgeable, hard-working and speaks great English. He takes you to the nicest places, local places and let's youbtake your time. The best part of the tour was that we had really interesting (and funny) conversations during all the hours we spent in the car. We learned so much about Balinese and Hindu culture. He was by far the nicest person we met in Indonesia!
Our tours with Be Balinese Tour were without a doubt a highlight of our time in Bali. Wayan was incredibly flexible and we ended up doing a 4 day tour with him. He came to collect us in our hotel and took us to the most spectacular places in Bali. He explained to us about the Balinese culture and took lots of great photos for us. His English is very good so it is easy to understand and have a good conversation with him. If we return to Bali some day, we would without a doubt do more tours with him. Overall, we recommend this tour to everyone anyone who is coming to Bali who wants to see the most beautiful spots and learn about them at the same time.
Top organization. Wayan Juli is doing a great job. Very knowledgable and reliable. Took me to the most beautiful places on Bali and be my good friend. Highly recommended!!
I had a wonderful moment with both guide Wi and Wayan. They gave me a lot of informations during this tour, I learn a lot and see a lot of beautiful landscape. Won’t forget it for sure ! I recommend them !
We used Wayan for 2 day private tour where we selected the activities. Day one was ATV adventure and white water rafting both great fun. We also visited a coffee planation , jungle swing, rice terraces and some shopping. Day 2 we had a 4 hr cookery class in Balinese food in the jungle, monkey forest and a waterfall. Wayan our guide speaks excellent english and was a very patient and knowledgeable guide who helped us have a great time. Would highly recommend, very friendly and flexible in terms of itinerary.

I and my partner just did 2 days of Bali Tours with many of good positive moment. All these is made possible because of our fantastic guide and now become our friend, Mr. Wayan. You canm ensure to be entertained with his experience, stories and he is s very patient, a honest guy and never short of smiles and with many hopes for his family and his home island, Bali. He is a super Guy. If you go to Bali, ask for him and you won't regreat it.
On our first time to Bali, we have definitely enjoy it very much. Wayan, our driver and tour guide is an awesome man. I personally would say that he is one of the best tour guide we have had. He help us to arrange itinerary to visit the main site of Bali only in our few days in Bali. He also make sure that we are not too tired and able to enjoy the trip well and a bit of relaxing too. A simple yet caring he had that made us felt safe and comfortable in every moment we are in Bali. He always provide a cold mineral water and keep asking about our condition in the car. He is also a good photographer will help you to take picture of your moment almost in every places we went. He is also went further to help us and give us a suggestion how to make a deal with local seller to about we pay too much price for a sarong or craft that we buy around the temple compound. His English is perfect, easy to understand even with his thick Balinese accent. Well, we unable to thanks him a lot but we wish him to prosper and more business in the future. Thank you Wayan, You Made our Day...!!!
Our guide Wayan gave us a great tour of Ubud and its surroundings. It was a full day tour picked up from the hotel and visited temples, the money sanctuary, rice fields, coffee plantation, and a local cultural dance. It was a great your made better by a great guide. Wayan was very accommodating and knowledgeable which really added to each of the tour stops. They were flexible in what we visited and where appropriate made suggestions on how to make our tour better. Would highly recommend you get in contact if you are looking to do a similar tour.
We heard of Be Balinese Tours from a friend in Denver. We contacted Wayan, the owner via email, and set up two days of tours for our February, 2018 visit. The communication was easy and resulted in a further face-to-face planning meeting in Ubud, Bali. Wayan, the owner, set us up with one of his team members, Wayan Suryan, the guide. Wayan, the guide, was excellent! His English was perfect as he lived in the US for 18 months years ago, and he was very pleasant to be with for our two full days of traveling around Bali. Because he was born and grew up in Bali, he was able to expose us to the Bali culture, Hinduism, the meaning and history of the sights, and his family. The places we visited with Wayan included Teglalang Rice Terraces, Pura Ulun Danu Bratan, Twin Lakes, Tirta Empul, Banyumola Waterfall, Mt Batur, Tukad Cepung Waterfall, and the Jatiluwih Rice Terraces. All sites were spectacular and interesting. Wayan was terrific to spend time with for two days. We highly recommend both of the Wayans and their tour company. We were sorry to say good-bye to Wayan after our last day. Using Be Balinese Tours was worth every dime!
Wayan took us for a tour of some of Bali's highlights including the Monkey Forest and the Spring Water temple - he was very informative and entertaining, while driving calmly through Bali's chaotic traffic without using the horn as much as other drivers. The following day, he took some of our party to rafting with Red Paddle. Highly recommended.
To The Manager, I would like to hank the professionalism of our guide cum driver during our stay from 8 to 13 December 2017. The driver has proven himself to be always earlier than the agreed time, able to explain the attractions in an interesting way and always proven himself to be polite and helpful. In addition he has from time to time seek accommodate to our request to bring us to areas where local food proved to be a delightful experience. It is indeed a great pleasure to have him and I can safely say that having him has added great pleasure and value to our overall experience in this beautiful island of Bali Ivan Tan Tourist SIngapore
My family (me, my husband, and our two teenage sons) booked two days with Wayan. We asked him to put together a tour that would show us Bali life and culture. He proposed the schedule, which was really nice, since we didn't know what we wanted to see. It turned out to be wonderful. We travel a fair amount in SE Asia and have come to expect being taken to "authentic" places/activities only to get there and realize it is a set-up to try to sell us something. When Wayan proposed going to his cousin's wedding, we thought it was probably a setup but were willing to play along. To our surprise, it really was his cousin's wedding and we really did see his village and family compound. Being able to attend the wedding was an amazing treat for us and a glimpse into the wonderful traditions of Bali village life. To be clear, we happened to be lucky to be on a tour the day of the wedding, so this isn't something he can offer every day. But, regardless of the day you visit, he will share with you thoughtful and interesting stories about traditional Balinese village life. He also took us to beautiful temples and shared interesting facts about them. And, best of all, he balances his talking with silence and doesn't talk endlessly, like some tour guides. We found him a wonderful mix of information, curiosity about life outside Bali, and silence when there was nothing the needed said, such as during longer car rides, which are inevitable in Bali traffic. As others have described, Wayan speaks clear Englsh, is prompt, reliable and a safe driver. We've been on a lot of different tours and can honestly say Wayan's was something truly special. We cannot recommend him more highly.
We only had a day left to immerse ourselves in the local Balinese culture and exceptionally glad to have chosen to travel with Wayan Juli. While there were many options available online and in Bali, most provided only a superficial sweep of the local culture and traditions. Coming from a different society, we wanted to gain a deeper appreciation of the real Bali. Wayan designed a private tour that provided us with insights into the Balinese people and way of life. Each stop in the itinerary shed light on specific characteristics of the local culture, traditions and beliefs that proved interesting and intriguing. He had also prepared the traditional clothes needed to enter the temple grounds. We enjoyed the intricate costumes and movements of the Barong dance show. The visit to the Gunung Kawi Sebatu and Gunung Kawi Tampaksiring temples allowed us to learn more about their central roles in Balinese culture. Wayan provided further immersion through participation in a purification and cleansing ritual in the Gunung Kawi Sebatu temple. Unfortunately we didn't want to risk the combination of wet weather and cold spring water. Both temples had magnificent designs and an air of serenity about them, with few tourists about. Wayan invited us to his family home to understand how the Balinese family traditions and community practices interacted with the individual and way of life. He also tried to get us a view of the traditional cock fighting in one of the temples and a taste of local durian. Thanks to Wayan, we finished the day with an enriched view and appreciation of Bali through a deeper understanding of its mind, body and soul.
6 day tour with Be Balinese private tours is a treasure of memory. The tour vehicle, tour customised itinerary, Ketut (guide's explanation) and all with highest customer satisfaction. We are extremely pleased with Mr Ketut Ajus(Guide cum driver cum a Balinese friend) for his insightful explanation. Ketut is fantastic and he is mini encyclopedia of Bali. He knows Balinese places, routes, traditions, customs, ceremonies, heritage, religion and to do / not to do things. He is also an extremely talented photographer and took memorable family photos at all visited places as an evidential photo collage of Bali. He is punctual and safe driver. We are extremely satisfied & Great value for money. Devanand & family
There are many offers for private tours on Bali. Be Balinese stuck out of the mass by seeming to be very authentic which was the reason why we contacted Mr Wayan Juli (the owner) for a tour. The correspondence was very professional and the next morning Mr Ketut Ajus was waiting for us at our hotel. Ketut is a very friendly, polite and funny guy with a nearly unlimited knowledge about Bali, its traditions, poeple's habits and everything else that comes with it. On top of that, he is a very safe driver which is quite a skill in balinese traffic. We had great conversations with him and it was rather like being with a friend than just with a tour guide. Ketut showed us the island through the eyes of a local, explained every temple, lake, village, vulcano and so on we went to in the utmost detail. He asked for our interests and even managed to take us to a Warung out in the country, where there were no tourists because we wanted to try "real" balinese food. This one of the best lunch we had during our whole time on Bali. Words cannot describe the beauty of the things he showed us and the perfect time and fun we had these two days. Sadly all things come to an end and the best things just seem never to last long enough. Surely we will miss exploring the island together with Ketut! If you are looking for a "good", "decent" or "very good" tourguide on Bali, go look somewhere else. But if you are looking for noone but the best there is on this island, you should go to be balinese tours and ask for Mr Ketut Ajus! Thanks again Ketut!
We found be Balinese tour on TripAdvisor, I send them an email for some information because we wanted to see some cultural and authentic sides op bali. Whitin one hour they replied and gave us some suggestions whitch places what we could visite. We booked a full Day trip from Seminyak to Ubud. Our driver Ketut Ajus was very friendly and spoke excellent English. He brought us to places which was the real bali. The first stop we attend a barong and kris dance, after that we wanted to visite a primary school, such an amazing experience that we will never forget. The Kids were so happy to see us. We visited the monkeyforest and the Rice terraces, and the Temple of the holy water and We went to the biggest traditional market of bali, we were the only tourist at that place. He took us also to a warung where we have tried some typical Balinese food, Babi gulang it was a bit to Spicy for me :-) but the food was very good. Our driver Ketut Ajus made this amazing Day compleet. He was very kind and helpfull he took so many pictures of us and Explained many things. When you book this tour ask for the driver Ketut Ajus and Im sure you Will have a lovely Day. Thanks again Ketut Ajus for this memorable day. Kind regards Jisca and Demian
When planning our trip I sent a few feeler emails to different tour groups and weren't impressed with their returns or prices. Wayan Juli got back with us immediately and was extremely patient in helping us plan our events. We ended up spending two days with him. The first day we did an all day tour. Throughout he was extremely knowledgeable and gracious. Stopping when we wanted/needed to and always being patient. He was great with our kids too and our 3 year old really liked hanging out with "Mr Wayan". On the second day we did the cooking class and it was awesome. We wanted our kids to see and experience Balinese life and this tour did a great job of that. We were able to go to his family compound and see how they lived and their farmland. We then got to spend a few hours watching our kids learn to prepare traditional meals with Wayan and his awesome family. Our sons even got to fish and eat their catch! Both days were amazing and our whole family loved it. If we ever go back to Bali we'll try to use Wayan for all of our trips. -Chris
We booked a full day tour with Be Balinese - Wayan was our private guide for the tour. Wayan knew everything about the area and we covered lots of places in a single day..monkey forest, Ubud palace, Rice fields, tirta empul temple, kintmani and lake batur. Wayan even accommodated our request to be picked up from Seminyak in the morning and dropped off in Nusa Dua in the evening..although a long trip, but we fully enjoyed the tour..Wayan even took us through local shops where my wife picked up some balinese souvenirs..very fluent in english, interesting to talk to..and safe driver..will recommend the tour..very different from Seminyak/Kuta and Nusa Dusa areas..must do in Bali. Will definitely contact him again on our next visit!
Spent part of the last month of 2014 in Bali Indonesia with my wife & in-laws and had the pleasure of having Wayan Surya as our 'personal tour guide' and driver around the island. Could not have made a better choice! First off, he was a very safe driver. The streets are a bit hectic there, very busy, and not all of the drivers we had took the safety of my family into account. Surya did and for that alone he gets our 100% Recommendation. Not only was he safe and patient, he knew where all of the places we wanted to go were, and he added to the experience by stopping by some places he thought we'd like. He showed us Bali temples, took us by the former house of the Royal Family, while explaining some Balinese traditions and really adding information to the sights & sounds of Indonesia. When we said we wanted to try Luwak Coffee, he took us to the place it was made, where we got a full tour and were able to try Luwak & other types of coffee! If the safety of your family is important, and want a driver that delivers more than just you to a destination, Wayan Surya at Be Balinese is exactly what you are looking for!
A friend and I spent half a day at Juli's home with him, touring his family compound and farm near Ubud, and harvesting and cooking an enormous and delicious Balinese lunch with him and his equally charming aunty and cousin (who are fabulous cooks). We had a wonderful time, and Juli was full of interesting information about Balinese life, culture, and food, and many great suggestions about things to do and places to visit. On our last day in Bali, we had hoped to book Juli for a tour of Uluwatu en route to the airport. He was unavailable but quickly arranged for an equally friendly and professional colleague to take us, and again, we had a great time. I highly recommended Juli's services to anyone interested in a guided tour of Balinese attractions.
AMAZING!!! Juli was our guide and driver for two magical days in Bali. He is an amazing young man, full of fascinating information and always smiling. We were so comfortable with him from the first minutes we met. We had a plan, but the heavy rain led us to change some things. On our first day, we went to his family compound for a fabulous lunch. We were in a lush jungle (no bugs!) with a beautiful open air kitchen and seating area. We met some of his family members, including his Auntie (a superb cook!), his cousin's wife and her kids. Juli's Auntie prepared a wonderful meal that will be a bit hard to explain. Everything was presented in banana leaf bowls and plates. Before eating anything, his Auntie prepared an offering to the spirits. This is something that is a huge part of their lives. It is the first thing done in the morning, after cooking and after eating, and the last thing at night. We had a pyramid of rice surrounded by corn fritters, a wonderful small dish of a tomato sauce, some spicy sauce with lemon grass, chicken satay and some kind of dumpling, steamed in a banana leaf pouch. We were made to feel like royalty as we tasted local cuisine, prepared and presented beautifully! We learned more about their customs and the offerings they make to the spirits and deities. This was one of the most fascinating parts of our two-day adventure with Juli. Learning about the local customs, schooling, families and religions gave us a sense of awe and appreciation for the Balinese people. That's what "Be Balinese" is all about - you can learn about and feel the gentle warmth and vitality of Balinese life. We talked about what would be of interest to us and Juli made suggestions for places to see. We visited beautiful temples and museums and the monkey forest (you must see it). We would start the day having breakfast together after he picked us up and then we would enjoy the scenery as we drove to our various destinations. Ubud, the artist town was great for shopping! Bali is very inexpensive and extraordinarily beautiful. Juli is the perfect guide for anyone wanting to see beautiful sites in a beautiful country. We only wish we could have stayed for a few weeks to really take it all in. We WILL go back and Juli will be the first call we make to ensure he is available! btw, our ship was three hours late in arriving, and Juli was waiting for us with a big smile and no complaints! Use him as your guide and let me know if you feel the same way!!! Having your own private guide and car at amazing rates was just like being royalty!
Special thanks to our guide Wayane Sudira, who showed us lovely places and supported us with extreme care and kindness in a difficult time
