Used Blue Water for our trip from Bali to Gili and then back from our resort in Lombok to our last stop in Sanur on Bali. Everytime we used Blue Water i kept saying to my wife how slick an operation this was. You are kept informed at every step of the way and the whole team we dealt with were excellent. Would recommend to anyone travelling off Bali or Lombok this is the team to use.
Overall, our experience with Blue Water Express was good. In theory, it is one of the best companies for this type of journey, and everything seems very well organized. However, our departure and arrival were delayed by around two hours. It is important to clarify that we arrived late **because the boat picked us up late**, not because of bad weather or difficult sea conditions. The delay was therefore related to the service itself. Unfortunately, this meant that we lost almost an entire day of our holiday, which was very disappointing, especially when you only have a limited number of days to enjoy your trip. Overall, the organization is good and the service has a lot of potential, but punctuality needs to be improved significantly. A two-hour delay can have a major impact on the whole holiday experience.
We fortunately had calm seas on our transfer from Gili Air to Serangan. And the service overall was excellent. However the AC did not work and it was quite warm on the 3+ hour trip. The crew was prepared with cold towels towards the end, which made me think this may be an ongoing challenge. This service is reliable and the captain is good (hand steered to ride swell and minimize beating against waves). But be prepared with some extra water, snacks and cool clothing. There are cold beverages for purchase to help as well.
Terrible harbor 2 hours later than the time at the websibe,inform people about that! Harbor is tooo small we needed 1,5 hour wait on the boat to arrive at the harbor! Its mess harbor , terrible there! Government need to do sth with that
They don't respond to communications or abide by their stated policies so best to choose a different mode of transportation. There's lots of options out there to get between the islands.
I did this trip from Serangan harbour to Gili T and then Gili Air>Lombock>Serangan return. To be fair the way to Gili T was really good and I was happy. The ride was smooth and on time. The return was a different story. On return the boat had an initial filter clogging that was ok and fixed pretty quickly but then had an electrical malfunction. We were left floating in the choppy Lombock sea for 45 mins while the crew fixed the fault. Thankfully the weather was ok (if it wasn’t that would have been horrific) and we got there in the end but it really was not a good experience. Better communication was needed from the staff as to what was going on. Please also note that at Serangan harbour there is a local taxi mafia that will not allow you to take a grab taxi. Its ridiculous. I had to walk about 30 mins of the island to get one in the end. They wanted 150000 to get to the airport from Serangan. Maybe it’s reasonable I don’t know, was just the principle of it that annoyed me. You can get a flight from Bali Airport to Lombock. I think I will do this next time.

This is a detailed review covering all aspects of the journey for those who want a detailed and authentic experience review: Online Booking: The best way is to book from their website directly. It has discounted rates and accurate timing. We booked from the website and added all the information including passport numbers, the WhatsApp contact number, and the Hotel in Gili T. By doing this our check in took less than a minute. Hotel Pick Up: to avoid any early morning hassle, we booked the travel directly with Blue water. This came in very handy. One day before our travel the company reached out and shared the drive name and phone number. The driver reached exactly at the pick up time of 6 AM and was a wonderful person and a very safe driver, while the vehicle was a mini van for 2 people. They only provide private pickups through the website. Communication: The Bluewater Express directly contacted me on my website one day before our trip. They answered all my queries and provided all the necessary information. Right after booking only I also received the ticket and payment receipt. Check In at Pier: The driver brought us to the pier and handled all the luggage himself. As soon as we got off the car a staff member took our luggage and placed it at a central place. Then we proceeded to the check in counter, where we were immediately handed out boarding pass and our tickets with the port fees for both Padang Bay and Gili T along with our luggage tag for our checked baggage. Luggage Handling: The luggage was handled properly. Once luggage tags were added, they loaded the luggage on a small loading vehicle and carried it to the boat. The luggage was stored in a covered compartment on the front of the board. Once we disembarked at Gili the luggage was handed directly to us. It only had small traces of moisture on it. Boarding and Disembarkation: They walked us to the boat from the check in counter. A queue was made, while priority boarding was provided to elderly and families with young children. Once we entered the boat we were handed over a small bottle of water and ushered to our seat. Similarly no chaos at disembarkation and the entire process was very smooth. Boat Seating: The seats were very comfortable and had enough leg space. The seats seemed very new as they were super clean, while the padding was firm also indicating they were new. The AC was very chilly and everyone closed their overhead vents to avoid getting cold. It was a sunny day and with closed windows the overall AC had made the cabin very comfortable. The Journey: Upon boarding the boat, a full tutorial in English was provided regarding the safety features of the boat and how to use them, along with instructions on what to do and what not to do during the journey. No matter how much of it was true, but the information was definitely assuring. The sea was calm for most parts but there were some huge jumps here and there during the 90 minute journey from Pedang Bay to Gili T. The boat left 10 minutes before scheduled time and arrived at the scheduled time. What’s best is that they provide information and guidance in clear English through pre-recorded messages at each step of the journey.
Super easy to travel with this company. The staff picked us up from our hotel at 6:00 in the morning, dropped us off at the private boat terminal which was fairly clean and well organized by Indonesian standards. Seems it was mostly Europeans using this service. Staff was super nice and the boat crossing was quick and pleasant. We were greeted immediately upon arrival by a representative from the company who drove us to our hotel. Would definitely use them again.

The travel experience was amazing, they are organized, you check in your luggage at the office and the take it to the boat, where is loaded inside a storage compartiment, safe and dry. After the trip, they give it back to you at the office. The trip was smooth and the seats are confortable. They have AC and the temperature is fine in the boat.
Great ferry service … from collection to drop off they are superior to others. The hotel collection was on time, helped with luggage, ensured we arrived in a timely manner to check in, took over luggage delivery to the ferry and we had a smooth crossing on a very safe, clean and comfortable boat. The whole team were very professional unlike other boats I observed / experienced.
We booked the ferry and pick up and drop off. Fantastic service and seamless. The taxi was ready and waiting ahead of our scheduled time. All really simple and organised, taking our luggage for us at the office. Boat trip was great, brilliant air con. Would highly recommend and would travel again.
On the whole, a great way to get to Gili T. You are well looked after from start to finish with your bags taken care of as soon as you arrive. Relatively comfortable inside and you are given the opportunity to sit on the outside roof area, with drinks and snacks available for purchase. The only reason I have not put 5 stars is that it was late both ways when we travelled.
Totally excellent. Handled so well and professionally from pickup in Ubud to drop off in Gili Air we didn’t touch luggage. Water given as we got on. Not crazy crowded. Comfy seats and excellent AC.

Spend the extra money and go with blue water. Honestly it's worth it. Other companies leave you sitting on the Dock no idea what's going on, blue water have fanned area to wait away from the crowds (at padang bai and gilli T not sure about others), lead you directly to the boat and give you water as soon as you get on. You can also purchase beer and chips. I felt very safe the whole time. Staff were very nice and made sure everyone knew when to get off.

We went from Padang Bai (Bali) to Gili Air and were very pleased with the whole very well organized transportation and the super friendly staff. The only thing was that it got super hot inside the boat, and we couldn’t sit outside at first due to that we didn’t want to get fried by the sun, and then the stormy weather came from nowhere. But the crew were so helpful and gave us cold towels to cool down. All in all we are very satisfied with Blue Water Express, a reasonable price and we felt very safe by going with them.
we went from Bali to Gili Trawangan, and they go relaxed, fast and efficient. They have aircon indoor and windblowing sundeck for fastview and pictures. They go to Lombok also and other cities on the way. Lombok might be me choise to join them next time, Michael

It was the perfect way to get to the Gili Island’s! Extremely efficient service, the boat was so quick with a great sun deck to enjoy the view on the way there. The staff loaded and unloaded our luggage for us and made the whole journey stress free. I would say it’s slightly over priced but because it was hassle free I would definitely use them again!
We took the Blue Express Fast Boat on this trip and we loved it! We were picked up at the house and driven to Serangan. Very professional and friendly driver. When we arrived check-in was easy and we had time for breakfast which was pretty good! The boat was clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly and helpful. They even handed out sea-sickness pills and candy. The boat ride was smooth and uneventful and drop-off was easy. The crew was knowledgeable and attentive. The ride back two days later was as good as the ride there. Arrival back in Serangan was very well organized with the collection of baggage and assignment to a driver, who dropped us off back at the house. Excellent!!
We took this fast Boat to reach Gili Islands from Bali and then the same company to get back to Bali! It proved to be the best choice as the ride is really very comfortable and the service if fab as they do provide pickuo transfer from the hotel to reach the harbour and then thy also bring you back to your hotel on the rife back!! This is fantastic because I dorm have to think about the madness of finding a taxi or having to explain where to go. The crew on board is the best ever.. They are professional, they all speak English and they are friendly with the passengers and provide information about the surroundings and tell you curious things about the place! There's also a lounge where you can wait and have drinks and food! I find the price also very fair considering all the service and quality 😊😊😊
My partner and I ended up taking a last minute trip from Ubud to the Gili Islands and can’t speak more highly of Blue Water Express and their services. The round trip pick up/ drop off situation from beginning to end was impeccably handled and executed. Luckily, the weather was beautiful both ways and we were able to sit on top of the boat and take in the breathtaking Indian Ocean views. Highly recommend sitting on top for the journey (remember your sunscreen)! The crews both on land and on the boat were super friendly, informative, and accommodating. In the end we were beyond thrilled in our choice to take the trip and Blue Water Express definitely aided in making it easy and most importantly, memorable!

My boyfriend and I took this boat service from Bali over to Gili T island. They picked us up at the hotel we were staying at and drove us to the boat pickup/drop off location. It was very well coordinated and set up. The drop off/pickup location had a food/snack area and plenty of seats. When it was our turn to board we got on the top of the boat and fell asleep. The boat had to stop twice just to take trash off the propellor. I made the mistake of only putting sunscreen on once for the 2 hr 45 min boat ride. Let’s just say I was a complete lobster by the end! For the ride from Gili T to Bali again it was well coordinated and very easy to find. We boarded easily and got on our way to Bali. A shuttle at the drop off location gave us a ride to our hotel. Will definitely be using these guys again for our next trip!

We took Blue Water Express from Serangan to Gili T and back. They were very organised and on time, efficient and friendly. The boat itself was well taken care of and they provided waters, towels, mints and seasick tablets. The journeys were a bit longer than what was advertised but realise that unpredicted weather conditions were the cause of that. I would recommend this service to anyone for reliable transport to and from Gili :-)
Be prepared for rough seas as it can be pounding for two and a half hours. Lucky for us on the way back the sea was calm and we enjoyed the views from the top deck sighting dolphins along the way.
We used this company for the transfer from Bali to Lombok and had a great time. Very punctual at the hotel for the pick-up, excellent and fast check-in at their offices at the port, boat beautiful and well-maintained, perfect internal temperature. Instead of 4 hours, it took us 5, but in August, boat traffic at the Gili islands is significant, and this caused us to lose some time. At the beginning, the sea was quite rough, but no one had any problems.

The boat used was clean and the staff cared for. They look out for any problems and provide a small bottle of water and mint candy. The crossing is a long and agitated one because the boat is not large. If you were seasick opt for a larger boat. You will be placed by the staff, first in at the beginning of the boat and last on the end (it moves more). Great experience for magical islands.
I made a transfer from Bali (padang bai) to Gili. The company is modern and allows a comfortable Welcoming, with in particular at the port an air-conditioned waiting room. The boats are also very modern (comfortable seats and air conditioning ), with water, mint pellets and anti-nausea if necessary. I only put 4/5 and not 5/5 because the boats are relatively small even if everything is well secured, we unfortunately had waves that day and the crossing was a bit agitated. I would recommend taking bigger boats (but it remained very well supervised hence the 4).
Really nice trip from Bali to Gili Air. Quiet and quiet with good conditions in the harbor in Sanur, and quiet and quiet boarding. Good service and high information aboard both roads. Boarding onto Gili Air was good according to the conditions there are. The only thing that came out was that our transfer from Gili Air to Gili Meno was not coordinated, and we had to spend an hour and a half calling etc to find it.
It all worked out great. From the booking, hotel pickup (the driver was even much earlier, but waited, the car was super clean and the driver super nice) the check-in was very professional, the suitcases were marked directly and you didn't even have to worry about it. The waiting area clean, air conditioned, clean toilet, with drinks and snacks and travel tablets. You were escorted directly to the boat, the suitcases were stored below deck. On board everyone got free water, you could also buy other drinks and snacks. The boat has made a very secure impression. There were life jackets and spit bags for everyone. There was also a safety briefing. There was a movie on the drive.
Seats tight and not comfortable. Fortunately the staff is nice, they give a bottle of water and candy but it's a long time given that the course is a loop. Observed schedules.
Definitely a safe transport to get from Bali to Gili Air. Consulting a little 'other companies, I Recommendation because, although expensive, you are sure to leave and not overbook. On the way we took an hour longer for an engine failure and on the way back the Guide, in our opinion, was partly reckless. It was going really fast and a lot of passengers were sick. That said, everything is normal. Friendly and professional staff and precise and punctual transport. What I liked least are the meeting points. Necessarily you were in a bar or restaurant so somehow you had to consume something. Also, when we arrived back, it was not possible to have transport other than theirs because the area is barricaded compared to taxis like Grab and Gojek. On the way out we had to change hotels and then, 7 days in advance, we notified them of the change. Despite being closer to the ship's place of departure, they increased our fare by 60 000 rupees, in my opinion without justification, since our transport was private and did not have to be arranged with anyone else.
I was very worried about transfers from Bali to Gili after reading each other’s comments. I finally chose BlueWater which had better reviews. I confirm that the transfer went very well from the preparation of the check-in to the arrival and delivery of the luggage. Super professional. I recommend.
Nothing wrong with the quality of the company. They picked us up at our Inn in Kuta Lombok. The driver was punctual. The crossing went very well. And we were transported to Ubud Bali by another very professional driver.
There is nothing to put on either the boat itself or the staff who tells about the safety, among other things about radars on the boat etc as well as how the wind conditions can be changed as soon as you have left the harbour. It did, too, and it was somewhat of a swing trip, for a barely as strong sea, with hard shock winds from changing directions. Returning we therefore chose the fast ferry, from Ekajaya, which is much larger, much more stable in the water and a safe experience.
This ferry ride was the worst of my life. I had to sit below deck for 3.5 hours from Bali to Lombok in an unbearable smell of petrol. The smell was extremely intense. 6 outboard motors pumped their exhaust fumes into the passenger compartment. You could have taken refuge on the roof. But you had to sit there in the blazing sun.
Cancellation of the ticket the day before departure. Proposed solution but stressful situation. Reimbursement of the trip made therefore commercially correct
Very well organized, good communication, attentive and helpful crew. They picked us up in Ubud and took us to the port of Pangdai and from there to Gili Trawangan. From the car pick-up to the transportation on the fast boat, everything was very good. We were especially worried about our little 2-year-old girl, but everything went smoothly and we were even assigned preferential seats for the baby.
Really good experience with Blue Water Express. Super service and communication, and a huge plus with air conditioning on the boat. However, I think it is a bit exaggerated that it should cost twice as much compared to the other fast boats.

I was totally nervous about boat transfers between Bali and Nusa Penida when I read the reviews of the companies that provide the service. Blue Water Express was recommended to me by the local travel agency and honestly the service is high quality - compared to others. Boarding and disembarking from a pontoon, they take care of the luggage which is well labeled and which travels in the hold, therefore sheltered from the waves, inside it is standard comfort but it is fine, it is clean, and punctual as far as we are concerned . It's more expensive, of course, but it's much more professional. I recommend.
