Great experience and very easy, was lovely to see the real Bali. Our guide Kadek was wonderful and very knowledgeable
Fabulous!Great ride (who doesn't like 17km downhill?! )The bikes were fairly new and in good condition, unlike some other tours we have been on. We loved both breakfast and lunch. There were six different stops, which were interesting and informative. But what made the tour so enjoyable was our guide, Dewa.He was so friendly and knowledgeable and gave us many insights into Balinese culture and life in general .A big thumbs up from all of us 👍👍👍
Kadek and his team were absolutely amazing! We had the most incredible bike tour through beautiful scenic areas, traditional villages and stunning temples. Lunch was delicious, and Kadek was an amazing guide who gave us such a fascinating insight into local life, culture and traditions. His knowledge and passion really made the experience so special. We made some truly precious memories and, after many years of travelling, this has honestly been one of the best trips we have ever done. Thank you, Kadek, for giving us the opportunity to experience Bali in such a wonderful way and for helping us create memories that we will treasure forever. Highly recommended! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was a definite highlight of our trip to Bali ! We were picked up at 7 from the hotel , the drive to UBud was lovely giving us a greater sense of the island. We started our day with a lovely breakfast in local restaurant, the visit to the tea/coffee plantation and sample was fun. The bike tour was wonderful mostly downhill so easy cycling Sundana waa a lovely guide. Visiting the temple and getting the local traditions waa great . The visit to a family compound was so nice any everyone so welcoming . Seeing the rice fields and cycling through local villages was very special. Plus we say the vocano and lake. At the end we had a lovely meal back at the same restaurant, savouring Indonesian dishes and desserts. I would highly recommend this excursion. At the end we were dropped back to our hotel in Canggu
High recommended! We booked this tour last minute and it exceeded all our expectations. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and spoke excellent English. The pick-up was right on time, and the vehicle was clean and air-conditioned. We felt safe and well taken care of throughout the entire trip. If you are debating whether to book this, just do it! Worth every penny.
I can’t recommend this experience enough. My girlfriend and I both enjoyed riding downhill through the traditional farms as well as visiting a traditional Balinese compound and temple. We both learned a lot about what is grown in the area as well as how the locals live and practice their religion. We spent approximately two hours riding down decent roads with moderate traffic but were not frightened at any point. Wear a long sleeved shirt or good sunscreen!! The tour usually begins with a visit to a coffee tasting plantation, however as my girlfriend and I had already visited this location we opted to spend more time cycling and exploring. The cycling itself was not physically strenuous, however, there is the option to extend the cycling at the end which would take you up quite a steep hill. There is no shame if you need to walk it up the hill! Overall this is an excellent experience for those staying in Ubud and looking for a taste of the more traditional Balinese lifestyle. Outside of the major cities and more connected with nature.
Fantastic Day. Was picked up by Kadek promptly at our hotel lobby early in the morning in Sanur. Pleasant drive up to Ubud for breakfast at a local Warung, their we were meet by another Kadek (which we learnt is the traditional name usually given to the 2nd born in a family) . After breakfast we made a stop at an Organic Coffee plantation and sample a plethora of Teas and Coffee. After this it was of to the lake/volcano lookout and the ride started to far from there and good quality newish bikes (Polygon). It was gentle downhill all the way mostly on back streets. The sag wagon was never far behind, re assuring but never needed. We stopped at Rice Fields, Temples and a the residence of a Balinese family. Kadek was most informative of not only the the places visited but also the Balinese way of life and he was always attentive of our saftey. Once complete we were once again I strongly recommend this tour group If you want a small group (it was just My wife and I on this occasion) and personal attention.
An awesome date spent out. The bikes were amazing quality, the scenery was stunning and our guide Kadek was incredible. Would highly recommend this. The air was fresh and the food divine! Thank you Amara Team
The attention to detail was spot on . The guys did everything that they could to make our experience perfect. I highly recommend these guys. We are back in August and will be booking them again
The cycling experience was AMAZING! The pick up from our villa was super helpful. Our breakfast was wonderful and authentic with an awesome view…we also had lunch there as our tour ended. Cycling through neighborhoods, rice fields, visiting real homes/compounds was an opportunity I felt blessed to be a participant of. This is a great way to see off the beaten paths of beautiful Bali…and our tour guide was simply wonderful. Without hesitation, I would recommend this tour to all friends and family, I would even take this tour again. 10/10 experience!
This was an awesome day. From our hotel pick up to our return it was seamless. Kadek our driver was on time and we left Legian area at 7:30 am arrived at the meeting spot, a small restaurant close to Ubud around 9. Our guide met us there, his name was Kadek also. He told us about our days itinerary. Then after a small breakfast we continued onto a coffee plantation and were given a tour and tasting of about 12 different types/styles of coffee. They were all surprisingly delicious and we all enjoyed the experience. Purchased a couple of samples and then back into the van and up to a Kintamani viewpoint. A few photos and then we drove another 5-10 minutes arriving at our start point. A quick run through of the bikes, brakes and gears and we were off. Kadek and Putu (tail guide) began along a quiet road, all downhill and easy. Kadek, the driver and the bike truck also followed as support vehicles and even took one of our kids for a short leg while he regrouped and took a break. We encountered very little traffic (mainly scooters and local villagers) as we descended through fields of vegetables (cabbage, chilies, oranges and marigold flowers). Very nice indeed. We took a few short breaks for water and also to see a local temple and a traditional house complex. Played with the dogs and kittens. The kids were loving it. Then as we dropped into lower elevations the rice paddies began. It was amazingly beautiful, with palm fringed paddies and more easy downhill trails. We eventually popped out onto the road again and had to climb a short hill. Only 3 hills on the entire ride and this was the largest, maybe 250 meters and completely manageable. From this point we were on a busier road but still very minimal compared to any main roads in the area. We were still cruising downhill right to the end point. Then back into the van, back to the starting restaurant for lunch, Nasi campur and ice cream or fruit for dessert. I ate 3 plates (finished the kids plates), it was great. At this point we said goodbye to the guides Kadek and Putu, jumped back in the bus and headed back to Legian. Most of us slept on the way home. Arrived back at 4:30, it was a full day but honestly one of the best experiences we could’ve asked for. Very fun and a glimpse into true Balinese life. So worth it and completely manageable to people without a tonne of biking experience. Thanks to both Kadeks and Putu. You guys made it a wonderful day. Terima Kasih.
We Loved this Experience! The Bali Natural Cycling Tour is more than just a bike ride; it's a gateway to the island's authentic soul. Highly recommended for travelers looking to escape the hustle and bustle of South Bali's tourist hubs and see how the locals truly live. The combination of stunning volcanic views and peaceful village scenery makes it a 10/10 experience Nature Lovers.
Review for Amara Bali Family Tour; Dear Amara Bali Family Tour Team, My brother and I would like to say terima kasih (thank you) for the wonderful experience we had during the natural downhill cycling tour and Mt Batur visit. Everything was beautifully organised from beginning to end. Being collected by your driver, enjoying the breakfast and lunch provided, and cycling through the villages and rice fields made the whole day very special for both of us. We would especially like to thank Kedek, who was a very patient, gracious and informative host. His kindness and knowledge made the journey even more enjoyable, and we appreciated the way he shared the culture and spirit of Bali with us. We also truly enjoyed the nourishing meals that were prepared for us during the tour. Thank you again for taking such good care of us...🙏 Bali is a very special place, and experiences like this make it even more memorable. We will happily recommend Amara Bali Family Tour to friends who visit Bali in the future. Warm regards, Carlos and Alexie...🌄🏞⛰️
WE LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCh GUYS. These people are amazing. I learned so much from them, and they were patient, kind, and incredibly respectful. I'm 63, and my 65-year-old husband, Kadek, our guide, treated us like his own parents. Honestly, I rarely write reviews like this before. But this time I have to because I had such an amazing experience beyond what we expected. Not only the cultural and natural experiences, but also the social life really touched my heart. I felt like part of their family. We hope this family business succeeds. We're sure it will because they're so amazing. We promise to recommend this family tour. Good luck, and we wish you all the best.
What an amazing experience. Right from pickup to drop-off we had a wonderful time. Our first stop was for a delightful breakfast followed by a visit to a coffee plantation where we sampled both teas and coffees prepared in different ways. Exceptional and incredibly interesting. Next we travelled on to the volcano lookout, where we could easily see where lava had flowed down the side of the volcano into the caldera. Following this we travelled to our cycling start point. This included visiting a temple a family home and rice fields. We are both of an age where physical activity is no longer a strong point, but we were pleasantly surprised to find we spent most of the time braking! Huge shout out to Kadek for his explanations help and obvious delight in sharing his wealth of knowledge about his country.
An authentic insight into rural Bali whilst taking a leisurely (mostly downhill) bike ride. We had a super guide Kadek, who was such fun, passionate about his culture and very informative. We took in several activities including visiting Mount Batur, a tea/coffee plantation, a local temple, a typical village house and the rice paddy fields, not rushed and very peaceful and enjoyable. We had a delicious breakfast and lunch and the bikes/helmets were well maintained. We're so glad we did this trip as it showed us the side if Bali not overrun with tourists.
This was a truly delightful tour (approx 8 hours including pick-up/drop off) seeing the natural rural villages and beautiful scenery on our ride! Kadek is a really super guide who was informative about the local culture and traditions. He was safety aware and we were not rushed at all, he encouraged us to take photos and take our time exploring a local Balinese home where we were made to feel very welcome. Kadek speaks excellent English, has a great sense of humour and showed us a part of Bali that was peaceful and away from the usual tourist spots, which we really appreciated. There were several elements to the tour including visiting Mount Batur and its lovely views, tea/coffee tasting at a local plantation, delicious breakfast and lunch included, a stop at a local temple, a traditional home and an easy cycle through the rice paddy fields. Its all done at a leisurely pace and you will not be disappointed!!
I actually didn't end up going as my kidneys got infected a few days before the cycling, but I'm leaving a 5 star review because of the kindness and care from the family who runs this tour. To be far from home and have someone send kind messages when I cancelled was really sweet. Really excited to try this tour next time.
We had a wonderful day and thoroughly enjoyed the trip. We were amazed by Balinese village life. They work hard to support their families, and the area is far from the hustle and bustle of tourism. The cycling was very easy, just downhill, so you don't have to exert much effort. The food was delicious. Thank you, Amara Bali Family team. We will definitely do it again
Our day was truly amazing. It exceeded our expectations. From our timely pick-up to the delicious breakfast and lunch, our guide, Kadek, was incredibly knowledgeable. We were deeply touched by the extra hospitality of the villagers, who were so humble, polite, and welcoming. We learned so much about their lives, culture, traditions, and the beauty of their countryside. Cycling is the best way to experience real Balinese life. You won't find anything like this in a guidebook. I highly recommend it. I will definitely be back for another tour
Great day with Wyan (Dolar), showed us a lot even a wedding. Beautiful views. Fantastic guide. Would definitely do it again. Thank you
It was one of our most memorable activities on the Bali trip. Guide Kadek and driver Oka were very professional and friendly who catered for all our needs during the trip. I highly recommend them for this trip/ activity.
This was one of the highlights of our trip to Bali. Our guide was fantastic and explained everything clearly. The view of the crater lake was spectacular but the cycle ride through rice paddies and villages was the best part. We called in at a family house and a school and saw how people live. So fascinating and so different from Western life and such different living arrangements and house design. The roads were good, on the whole, and easy to cycle on and the majority was down hill so not taxing. We stopped frequently to take photos etc. and the guide had a wealth of knowledge to share. A truly memorable experience!
We were a group of 6 who loved the day of riding through ubud. Our guides were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast & lunch was delicious and we would highly recommend the experience. 98% of the day was downhill so no peddling was needed.
Amazing ride through villages and rice fields. Highly recommend. The guide was very knowledgable and the pace was leisurely enough qe could enjoy the ride and the sights
From the start of the day, our tour guide, Wayan, greeted us warmly and provided informative and entertaining commentary. We were given a clear overview of the day before enjoying a delicious breakfast. Then, we headed to a plantation for coffee tasting, including Luwak coffee if you prefer. Afterward, we headed to Mount Batur for breathtaking views. We then cycled downhill through villages, rice paddies, and countryside. There were plenty of stops to see and hear about local life. We concluded the trip with a quality lunch. Wayan was an excellent guide, and I highly recommend this tour and company. The price was very affordable, and the quality of service from the staff was excellent.
We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Despite the rain, we still enjoyed the trip and were truly amazed by the Balinese culture and hospitality, the glimpses of rural life, and the beautiful village scenery. Thank you Guys we loved you all!
This was a great budget-friendly way to spend a day in Bali. We were picked up from our hotel in sanur and given breakfast, then toured a coffee plantation where we were offered a huge tasting flight of coffees and teas, many of which were really interesting. The day was actually really rainy but our tour guide was happy to press on and gave us ponchos for our ride. We were riding down almost entirely quiet streets (felt very safe) and the other drivers were very considerate of tourists on bikes. Winding through farmland and rice terraces gave us a completely different insight into bali than what you get in the cities. Our tour guide was excellent, explaining so much about Balinese culture, family life and religion, and happy to answer any questions. Lunch was also included before we were dropped back at our hotel. I would highly recommend this your- it was actually a great activity for a wet day, because we didn't get too hot (as long as you don't mind getting a bit wet!).
This is an amazing glimpse Into Balinese life and a fabulous way to spend some time in the mountains. Very easy biking
Kedek was so friendly and informative. He made sure we knew exactly what to expect for the whole day. He really looked after us and make sure we had a safe experience cycling. The driver was also good felt safe with his driving
Amazing and safe experience for my family of four. Stunning scenery and visit to a traditional Balinese home to view the local culture. Highly recommended
Great day cycling enjoying the beautiful scenery, learning more about the Balinese culture and having a few laughs with our fun and knowledgeable guide Nice breakfast and lunch included. Great family day.
We loved this tour, our guide Kadek has a huge personality and very friendly & welcoming. Breakfast was simple but perfect, and we met Kadek who explained the days itinerary. After eating, we went to the lookout of Mt Batur (including seeing the previous lava flow) and crater lake. From there it was the downhill bike ride! Bikes , helmet and bottle of water all supplied. The bike seats can be a little hard but alternate bum cheeks or take your own gel seat :) One of the stops was at a local family compound, which is very interesting & the tour company pays the family a donation so tourists can visit - interesting cultural experience. After an easy 15km downhill ride, Kadek then gave us a couple of riding options dependent upon ability & experience. Then back to the restaurant for lunch - once again a lovely simple lunch before being driven back to the hotel. Our driver was very patient and made sure we arrived safely although it was apparently a busy day traffic wise and took longer than expected (we were staying at Legian).
We had a great day out. Cycling gives you a completely different view of Bali and allows you to experience Balinese life up close - we visited a temple and a Balinese home and cycled through rice fields as people were working them. Our guide was very knowledgeable and allowed up plenty of time to stop and soak up our surroundings. Our breakfast and lunch was delicious.
Our family of 5 is very grateful to Wisnu, our tour guide, who took great care of us, especially my mother. We thoroughly enjoyed the trip. We loved seeing the different villages in Ubud and the rice paddies. The cycling was very easy, 95% Downhill. Breakfast and lunch were delicious. I highly recommend it. We would definitely do it again.
Well planned trip, quite relaxing, even with the bicycling, all downhill, good experience meeting locals at home and in a ricefield. The guides were excellent and took good care of us. Absolutely recommendable.
We did the Mount Batur cycle tour today and had a great time. The tour itself went for about 2 hours through various different areas such as traditional Balinese villages, temples and rice fields. The guides were very friendly and knowledgeable. They served us both breakfast and lunch at their restaurant as well. Would definitely recommend.
We had a fun day riding through the villages, rice paddies, seeing Mt Batur and tasting many varieties of different Balinese coffee/ chocolate and teas….who would have thought there were so many. The ride itself was easy (nearly 99% down hill). We were a large group of 11 (3 families varying in age from 10-52) and our tour guides Kadek and Wayan were amazing in sharing with us what life is like in a Bali village and the customs and ceremonies the Balinese practice. We would highly recommend this tour. Kadek and Wayan took great care with our whole group, particularly the youngest ones, to ensure they felt comfortable and safe on the ride. The breakfast and lunch at the local Warung were also very good.
We had a great time. Breakfast and lunch provided was good. Quality bikes. Our stops on the way down were interesting and our guide was great fun. It was a good way to meet other people in our small group. We’ve done pretty much everything in our past visits to Bali so thought we’d give this a go and we weren’t disappointed. Suitable for any fitness levels as all downhill
We had an amazing time thanks specifically to our guide Kadek. He was super helpful and informative about balinese culture, and made sure we had a great time! Would recommend!
Absolutely amazing. I can not recommend it enough!! Our guide was absolutely amazing , took good care of our 9 yr old son, sharing so much information about Bali, its culture and traditions! We travelled through villages, rice fields. Saw so many amazing views and had the opportunity to learn about Bali people and culture. Great value also as it included a lovely breakfast & lunch including dessert
Our tour was honestly the activity highlight of our trip to Bali. Our tour guide was lovely, and everything was superb simple from pickup to drop off. The included meals were great, and the different teas and coffees from the plantation were great fun to sample. The ride itself was very very fun. If you are worried about fitness levels - don't be. As long as you are able to stay upright, gravity does all the work. We maintained a steady pace with plenty of breaks, and hardly any pedalling was required. Highly highly recommend this experience.
Great day out in Ubud. We had a wonderful experience with our tour guide Eka. We learn a lot about culture and social life. Also, the food is super delicious.
A fantastic way to see the Ubud area and learn a little more about the people and culture. Cycling along quiet backroads through small villages and past Temples with an enthusiastic guide who is proud of his culture; for us this was a memorable experience. And yes, it was rolling down-hill for a couple of hours!
Everything was amazing, from pick up, food, view. We love this tour. The cycling was very easy, only downhill. We really enjoyed this tour. Thank you so much. We love Balinese culture. I highly recommend it!
A fantastic experience. We were very impressed with the level of care and attention that we received. I have done similar bike trips but this is the best. We were taken on a quiet, scenic and very interesting route. I can highly recommend this trip
This tour is perfect for cycling through hidden villages and learning about Balinese culture and seeing the Balinese people lives there. We prefer this tour compared to the car tour around Ubud.
The drive is the killer, we travelled from Nusa Dua. The day was really lovely, we had private as only the 4 of us. No rush, slow paced day. Tour guide was informative and friendly. Breakfast plain, lunch good 👍 Overall a really good day out! And the rain held off, so even better! Watch the toilet steps at restaurant, hubby slipped on he's arse as super slippery.
We had a great day from the start to returning to the hotel. Delicious breakfast and lunch, beautiful views on every spot they took us. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. We had a great experience with this tour company.
