You are in the elements! This is a rock-climbing trip where you are literally wading in the water to get up close and personal with waterfalls. Ask for Crocodile the guide, he's a dope freelancer that is fearless! Make sure to bring your water shoes, but this is not a "drive around and point" tour. You are in the actual elements but it's super fun; not for the faint of heart.

Itinerary
Once an unknown attraction, the Hidden Canyon is now considered one Bali’s must-sees. The local deem it sacred, and once you see the weird and wonderful rock formations inside the incredible natural surroundings, you’ll understand why. Adventure junkies and nature lovers will embrace the opportunity to don their swimwear, go barefoot, jump, trek and swim deep into the heart of the canyon.
You’ll be encountering Mother Nature quite a bit throughout the day as we travel by air-conditioned minibus to Tegenungan Waterfall, just a stone’s throw from popular Ubud. It will take you over a 100 steps to get up close and personal to the waterfalls, but it will be well worth it, plus you’ve just earned yourself more room in your stomach for the delicious food to come.
Indonesian food over a local lunch is up next. Famous for its fresh, nutty flavours, many travellers deem this cuisine a Southeast Asian favourite. Fill up now because a busy afternoon exploring some of Bali’s best-loved temples is on the agenda. We’ll start off at Goa Gajah, otherwise known as the Elephant Temple. In true Hindi style, this temple is elaborately decorated with otherworldly carvings and taken over by sprawling tree roots akin to Angkor Wat.
One of the few places in Bali that can compete is the Gunung Kawi Temple which you’ll visit before the day is over. It’s one of the island’s oldest monuments, a must to experience the history and culture of Indonesia. To get there, we’ll pass through the beautiful terraced rice fields that Bali is so famous for. You’ll have an all-round feel for the island’s nature, cuisine and architecture by the time we travel back to your accommodation!

We had an incredible day exploring Hidden Canyon, Tegenungan Waterfall, and Goa Gajah temple, with admission fees all being covered by our booking. Each stop was absolutely stunning and unique in its own way. The highlight of our experience was our driver, Alit, who went above and beyond to make the day seamless and enjoyable. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel completely comfortable from start to finish. Everything was perfectly paced, and we never felt rushed. This tour was a true highlight of our Bali trip—highly recommend!
This multi-site tour is a great experience with much to offer. The hidden gorge was a bigger challenge than we expected. Our guide through the gorge really stepped up and helped my wife, which we greatly appreciated. The waterfall was beautiful, and the temples were fascinating. Our tour guide and driver was Dawa, and he was great too. Very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the temples.
The hidden canyon adventure is pretty awesome if you like hiking and rocks. It does get slippery and wet so spare clothes are necessary. Having said that, Ladies Be Aware the guide did touch me “accidentally” in a places he shouldn’t, when I panicked in the deep water in the cave… Not sure even if the cave is part of the usual trip given how deep it is there. No warning whatsoever before going in… Reading old reviews now, I see that it seems to be a pattern here when no male is present. So I do not recommend the canyon for any woman travelling solo, unless you’re pretty confident with climbing and swimming. Rest of the tour was great, temples were pretty and not so crowded, the driver was knowledgable and nice.
Our driver and guide Kadek Oka was great. He picked us up on time and took us to temple before it got busy. He was great at taking photos of us and explained everything about the temple. He even took us for a quick coffee break as it was early in the morning! We then visited the waterfalls. This walk is not for the faint hearted, but the walls were beautiful! Oka took some amazing photos of me and was very patient and took regular breaks with me as I slowly made my way back to the car. Finally monkey forest. We went to the quieter forest so there were not a lot of people. Beautiful forest, great pictures and good explanation of the statues and stories of the gods. Excellent, patient, knowledgeable guide. Highly recommended
amazing, very enjoyable tour, we saw nature and temples in Bali, our favorite place is hidden canyon and Gunung Kawi temple, it was very quiet there even though the weather was a little rainy, but we enjoyed it, our guide Komang was very friendly and helpful in explaining about the culture and temples in Bali, we highly recommend our guide to you
very nice trip, I highly recommend it to you, our favorite place is Hidden Canyon. It is very beautiful but a bit slippery because of the rain. Our guide named Komang is very friendly and guides the cultur and tradition in bali. The weather is a bit rainy but really enjoyed it. So if you want to do another trip and activities in bali, you can try this trip. Thank you Komang for the great day. Greetings from Switzerland 🥰
Great service. Komang is an excellent driver and guide. He helped me improve my Indonesian language skills and was very knowledgeable. Terima Kasih.
The trip was amazing, especially our driver komang trisna he has such an amazing personality, very outgoing and informative, and his english is really really good, and he’s super patient,i would book with him again in a heartbeat
All good, we are very happy with the service they peovide. I will definetely come back to baki and chiose tripguru as my tour operator
I had a good experience on this tour. Surprisingly I was the only one who booked so it ended up being a full day experience alone with just the driver but was still enjoyable, safe and a good excursion. A highlight was the Hidden Canyon trip and the person guide there called Warjan…he was an excellent guide and ensured i was safe in the water and on the rocks!
Great trip with local driver Komang to see very beautiful part of Bali. definitely recommend hidden canyon trip - not physically challenging and really fun
On the day I booked the trip, the canyon was closed. No one checked before. Visiting the canyon was my main reason to book this Tour, because it is not allowed to go into the canyon without a guide. Even though the main event of the trip was not available TripGuru refused to give a refund, not even a part of the trip. Very bad customer service, I will definetely not book anything like this again.
We had a wonderful time with Komang who was super friendly and knowledgeable! Our highlight was definitely the hidden canyon but we liked all parts of the tour!
Omg, Komang was an excellent guide! I had total jet lag from the night before taking two flights to get into Bali from Thailand, Komang went out of his way to totally accommodate me, my late start and tiredness. Really appreciate the whole tour, he’s a gem.
Our tour guide is named Komang, and he did an excellent job of the tour! It is a busy day, so you can expect a lot of walking, but this is perfect for active thrill seekers. The hidden canyon is gorgeous and the tour guide there was amazing, offering to take lots and lots of photos as we went along. Remember change of clothes and wet shoes if possible, as you will be trekking through water and swimming. The waterfall was also stunning and again allowed for stunning views and photos. Both temples were bigger than expected, and we're beautifully situated within nature. Komang was knowledgeable about each place and happy to answer all questions. Great day and great value for money! Highly recommend 😊
Walking in the canyon and take wonderful pictures It's not that hard but you must take care of the slippery rocks
Thanks to Komang for being a great guide and even taking us to a cozy coffee plantage on our way back which was not planned. The Hidden Canyon was awesome, and the highlight of the day for us! There were basically no other tourists (we were puzzled why that was) and we liked the hike through water and stone climbing, as well as the beautiful scenery. Be aware that the stone climbing can be a little challenging and slippery at times, but the guide was helpful and made us feel safe. I did it barefooted which was ok, but if you have water shoes already, bring them. The temples were also interesting to see and learn about the religion. The waterfall was ok, very touristy as we had expected. We only did a short stop. The coffee plantage Poo Hunters (note this was a spontaneuous visit and as far as I know not to be expected as part of the trip!) was really cozy, and the Cat Poo Chino coffee was really tasty.
Had the best day ever! The hidden canyon was amazing 🤩🤩 Our guide was so friendly and he told us alot about the culture in Bali. Truely a perfect day, book this trip you will have memories for life ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The girls from Sweden 🇸🇪
Hidden Canyon with Jamor was amazing, and my guide Komang was full of interesting information about the temples we visited.
We had an amazing tour guide named Putu. He spoke good English so he was able to tell us about history, kulture and recommended us some great things. The hidden canyon was quite a unique experience and the Tempels where really interesting. It 10/10 would recommend. We had an amazing day!!!
My Guide (Komang) was very friendly and polite. I was totally thrilled and felt very comfortable. He had a lot of knowledge and was happy to answer all my questions. Thank you so much! :)
Hidden Canyon was great! A walk through the beautiful canyon in the water, a bit of swimming. The lunch was also good food. Tegenungan falls were impressive, the temple tours were amazing, and beautiful as well. Our guide and driver Gokang was super friendly and informative, great to talk to!
Hidden canyon was great. Waterfall was a bit over rated. Temples were great to see. My driver Dephy was really knowledgeable and had really good English
Dephy was my tour guide for the day. He was knowledgeable and friendly during the 10 hours we spent together. The time flew. It was like hanging out with an old friend. The locations we visited often had local guides but the transition was seem less. Great hospitality, professional and positive energy. Also safe driving. Would highly recommend.
What an amazing day spent on this tour. Hidden Canyon has been on my to do list for a while and did not disappoint. Big thanks to Ding for guiding me through and making it so much fun. My trip guru for the day Komang Trisna was also great - friendly, knowledgeable, took photo's whenever asked and made sure my gear was kept safe whilst swimming at the waterfall. Thanks for a special day!
Our guide was wonderful. Went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. Highly recommend the experience.
The hidden canyon tour was hands down awesome. Our tour guide was amazing. Very helpful and friendly. There is alot of steps to walk up and down. So not for people with bad knees.
This was my first tour in Bali, and it started with disappointment because the Hidden Canyon was closed due to heavy rain the previous night. Undaunted we continued the tour and then tried another canyon again after lunch but unfortunately it was closed, too. My guide (Hendra) was very considerate and wanted to make up for not being able to visit the Hidden Canyon, so he took me to the Monkey Forest as a substitute -- what a great gesture!!! Thanks to Hendra and TripGuru It was a very pleasant day despite the rocky start.
The hidden canyon was my favourite because you go at your own pace with a tour guide. If you like a little adventure that involves climbing and swimming 👍 don't expect waterfalls but instead beautiful tall structures of rocks. Our tour guide Pas, was so helpful with our things and making sure we watch our step. He is a man of little (English) words but he does take some awesome videos and photos. Tegenungan- was a great view and lots of photo opportunities if that's what you're looking for. Thank you Sarbuja for all the insightful knowledge throughout the tour.
We had an amazing experience visiting the temples with our guide Bello who was incredibly knowledgeable and answered any questions we had. The two guides for the Hidden Canyon were out of this world as well. This trip was definitely the highlight of our stay in Bali. We were a group of 5 and as we went to the canyon in the evening, kind of a backwards version of the tour itinerary, it meant that we had the canyon completely to ourselves which was just awesome. The guides managed to get ALL the instagram shots and made it an incredibly adventure for all of us.
Did this Tour with Yogi, he was amazing, flexible good to talk to, took an interest in what you wanted to see. Highly recommend.
Fantastic Must Do experience! Started the day with a visit to a jewellery making business which was very interesting, then off to the Canyon! This was the highlight of the tour. The information provided did not really explain the depth of the experience, ie thought we may get a little wet, did not really it was more like a full on “Canyoning” experience where 50% of the time was actually IN the water and at times under it. Finished with lunch after we dried off and chose the Chicken Burger which was very tasty! Great experience, great guides. Then off to the waterfall which was a lovely sight, took photos and was the opportunity to shop and grab a bite if the chicken burger wasn’t enough. Finished with the temple tour which again was amazing and our guide was very informative. Highly recommend the entire experience. Give yourself some time to recover afterwards, a big day!
My husband and I had an amazing day! Our driver got the door for me every time and took extremely good care of us. The hidden Canyon was alot harder then I thought, (I'm fit but small) the current kept dragging me so it scared me a little. I would suggest you be fairly fit for this whole tour. The temples were so beautiful, felt like we were in a movie, so lush and beautiful, very Zen! The stairs at all of these places were alot, again I hope you have some level of fitness haha. Overall, big day but we saw alot. Thank you.
The Hidden Canyon was our first stop on this tour but closed for the morning due to the rainy season. We diverted to the waterfall instead which was stunning (if a little resorty given the beach club at the bottom). Lots of photo opportunities and you can swim in the water a certain times of year. However, we’d booked this mainly for the hidden canyon and fortunately our driver received a message that it was now open so we headed straight over! I was expecting some mild rock climbing and a walk through maybe ankle / knee deep water. It was NOT that. Because of the rains the water was up to 3ms deep in places and we had to swim against strong currents. Do some significant climbing etc. it was AWESOME. Quite frightening in places but well worth it. Our guide shouted ADVENTURE several times and it definitely was. Life changing even! If you want a challenging but super fun and rewarding experience do it! Your valuables will be carried in a waterproof bag by the guide who will get your phones out at certain points for photos. The trip also includes a couple of temple visits which are very interesting and worth a visit. Overall a great day trip. Do it for some ADVENTURE!
My guide Gusti was beyond fabulous. He is very helpful and so kind. I had a great day and absolutely loved the hidden canyon trek. Make sure you bring changing clothes because you’ll for sure get wet during the trek.
The Hidden Canyon is a beautiful natural gem. But I have to warn everyone since its a relatively tricky route and you better prepare! I was after days of rainfalls there so the water level was up to my chest sometimes and all the rocks were wet and slippery, also had to really climb between rocks. My guide recommended me to be barefoot (mistake!) so unfortunately i slipped, fell on a rock and really hurt my wrist (fracture). So overall be a bit prepared! (don’t go after rainy days and a hiking sandal better than barefoot ;)) otherwise its really beautiful and fun, could have been nicer without my injury ;)
I've booked this amazing tour, unfortunately I was the only one who signed up for this tour so it became a private tour for me and I didn't have to pay anything like in other companies they have this hidden clause. Anyway tour was awesome, hidden canyon was the best part it's quite challenging and we walked barefooted as I came in flip flop, it was one hell of an adventurous experience. Temples were also quite nice and our driver Dewa was awesome his command in English is very impressive even better than the local guides and he gave us good information about the Balinese culture. Keep in mind that you need to climb lots of stairs for the temples in this tour.
We booked this tour very last minute (7pm the night before!) and found it brilliant! We went the private tour option which was the perfect choice for us (me, hubby and 14 year old daughter). We were picked up and driven all day by the awesome Yogi. Great English and sense of humour. Very open to changing the destinations on the run when he found out we’d visited one of the sites before. Apart from Yogi, the highlight of the trip was the Hidden Canyon. What an adventure. Walking through the canyon was fantastic. A bit of rock climbing and walking through water. Our guide Putu made it easy and memorable. I would highly recommend this tour. Oh and I note from an earlier review you no longer visit the mini zoo - which I am grateful for - because seeing animals in cages would have distressed me also.
Thanks Bello to our amazing driver. The tour was really nice and fun. I actually liked all the attractions but most of aml i liked the canyon because you had to swim and climb a little.
We had the best time yesterday with our tour. We booked the tour via get your guide. It is called: Hidden canyon, waterfall and temples small group tour. We were picked up at our hotel from our two guides Tawan and Bawe. Traffic was a little heavy that day but they called before and texted so we had no problem at all with waiting for 10 minutes. Our guides were extremely friendly, told us a lot about Bali and always made sure we had the best time in Bali. This tour made it possible to see many things of Bali. The hidden canyon was my personal highlight. Whenever Tawan and Bawe didn’t know an English word they took their phones and googled it. They always wanted to give a 100% and they did! They never gave us the feeling to hurry at a location. They gave us all the time we wanted. I personally really liked it! They also offered to take lots of photos and they even carried our bags. They were so friendly that blew my mind. The company is very reliable and you get a lot for your money. Our guides also offered the possibility to choose. We were able to skip the last temple and see a huge and wonderful rice Terrasse instead - just awesome! Ask for Tawan and Bawe and you don’t get disappointed.
We were picked up on time at our accommodation by Agung, who was friendly and had been in touch the night before to arrange. The car was comfortable and air-conditioned, and we picked up one other couple before heading to the Hidden Canyon. The canyon is easily the best stop on the tour - it's fun to navigate, really beautiful, and definitely worth seeing. The waterfall is cool, but way more touristy than we'd expected - it's basically part of a resort, so has a much less magical feel to it. Might be better if you go super early in the day before it gets busy. The two temples are pretty interesting (Gunung Kawi was more impressive than Goa Gajah in our opinion), but the lunch stop at Goa Gajah turned into a bit of a nightmare for my girlfriend and I. After the temple visit Agung showed us to the restaurant just outside of the temple grounds that we would be eating lunch at. It looked fine but probably wasn't somewhere we would've chosen if left to our own devices. Long story short we both got terrible food poisoning from this place (not sure about the other couple as we didn't stay in touch) and lost a solid 32 hours of our holiday to being violently sick. Obviously this could have just been bad luck - but after that experience I'd be super weary of going to any food places that you wouldn't instinctively choose yourself. Agung seemed to know the people at the restaurant so I assume the tour organisers have some sort of deal with them or something. Anyway, at the end of the day considering the amount of miles we did, it was deinfitely a cost effective, hassle-free way of getting to see all these places. The canyon is awesome, the waterfall is ok, and the temples are cool. Just remember to be vigilant and trust your instincts when it comes to food!
We have had the opportunity to do multiple day trip with Bello ! This is the best driver and tour guide that we have ever had. He can explain you the culture, show you beautiful places and share with you everything that he knows about Bali ! I can only recommend you to make this trip with Bello ! Best guide ever, don’t hesitate you will not regret it !
We had a wonderful day with our driver and tour guide AGUNG. AGUNG was very punctual friendly and informative. The Hidden Canyon Tour is Bali’s Hidden secret and the waterfall and temples were also great to see. Maria And Tony Adelaide Australia
I had a lot of fun with Made yadnyana on the tour. Just in time at the time mentioned he picked me up at the hotel joy radiant. Surprisingly, he could speak German and really well. So we could talk about everything on the island the whole trip and he could give me a lot of information about Bali. A top guide. I was supplied with water and I didn’t die of thirst 😅 I hope to see you again. Highly recommended 👍🏻🙂
Very nice tour, since I had already seen a stop, the tour was changed spontaneously. Guide was very friendly, helpful and could tell a lot about the different stops. However, the waterfall was very well visited, which is why I did not stay there long. All in all a very nice tour.
What beautiful nature, really wonderful. Super fun to do too, walking through water, clambering over rocks. What an adventure.
Very nice and knowledgeable guide No tourists (!) Beautiful nature in the canyon as a break from scooters, crowds and the hustle and bustle of Ubud / Sanur Temple less magnificent than others but full of locals celebrating a traditional festival (very interesting, especially thanks to our guide's explanations)
It has been a great day, the strong point has certainly been the experience in the Hidden Canyon, brutal, the local guides very attentive. Both beautiful temples, submerged within the natularity, and our driver, Kadek phenomenal too.
Our tour guide Gusti picked us up in time as agreed and was just wonderful. He always answered all the questions and took very nice photos. We felt welcome and secure at all times.
