We booked two rooms for four people with free breakfast included. On arrival they said they would charge 180k (after taxes) for breakfast for my 5-year-old, who was the fifth person in the reservation. Feels like a strange and unfriendly policy for a young child. Even the included breakfast is limited — you only get what you order plus one glass of juice or a cup of tea/coffee, which is far below expectations for the rate paid. Construction is going on right behind the fence, which is super close to the hotel area and clearly visible from the balcony. The noise is noticeable throughout the stay. The location is quite far out, which makes getting around less convenient, and there is a trashy area right across from the entrance. Their “shuttle” is just a regular Grab taxi. There is also no elevator in the hotel. The room layout is also awkward — the fridge sticks out into the walking space and is easy to bump into. The pool area is another issue. There are almost no chairs, so you either have to sit in the dining area or keep walking along the pool to supervise your kids, which is inconvenient. On a positive note, the staff was nice and polite. We also received free welcome drinks and a fruit platter upon arrival. The bedding was comfortable and the shower area was spacious. The drinking water they provide in glass bottles tested at 150 TDS, which is acceptable quality. I was lucky it was only one night. Overall it felt overpriced for what you get provided other options to stay around.

[Dutch/European] After we have traveled 3 weeks through Indonesia we stayed in this hotel for 4 days. For me it is the second time I stayed at this hotel, the first time was in 2021. We were welcomed by the friendly personnel and that was the start of a very pleasant stay! The view from the restaurant is amazing and from the balcony it's even better! The rooms are spacious with a nice clean bathroom, a small kitchen with refrigerator and a microwave, a bank, a big bed, and a balcony. The hotel is modern, clean, and well maintained with a nice pool and restaurant. The food in the restaurant is prepared freshly and tasted delicious. The personnel has been very helpful with my severe food allergy to make sure everything was good for me to eat! The breakfast options are numerous with a nice variety. Every morning we were greated by a very friendly and smiling receptionist and kitchen personnel. They are really interested in where you come from, how your travel has been and what your next plans are. If you are looking for a lovely hotel in the area of Ubud this is definitely the place to book your stay!
Wadari Retreat is located in Ubud village in central Bali. This place is surrounded by rice 🌾 fields. But it is almost 1.30 hrs. Away from Bali Airport. Rooms are big enough. All the Rooms have balcony facing the rice field with chair and centre table. We can sit there for tea or coffee and enjoy the view. Room is spacious with working desk. Ample lights, ambience was ok. Room has kitchen platform. Spoons, forks and knives provided. Mini fridge and microwave oven provided. Tea and coffee maker provided. Restaurant was on the ground floor. Restaurant is facing the rice 🌾 field. Ample sitting arrangement. Food options are limited, specially for breakfast very limited options available. Service was ok. This place has long swimming pool, but it was not clean so we didn't use it. They have made a special area for Yoga. Overall it was nice place.
I stayed at this villa for four nights and I have to say I'd stay again if I visit Ubud again. We arrived after midnight and I was glad to find someone at the reception. Is a small welcoming area right by the entrance. We got room 111, the top floor which I loved. The view was to a rice field and I could see far in the distance. The location was not far from the main road, yet, pretty secluded so you could hear no noise. From the road you have to go through a path in order to reach it. You'd pass the Ruster's restaurant and a tea house . The taxi was able to fit the path and dropped us right there. The villa offer taxi shuttle to the Ubud centre free of charge and you just have to let them know in advance . The drivers are not working for the hotel, they are just contracted by them. To get to the center , it can take between 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the traffic. There is a mart nearby if you need to grab something. The Villa offer breakfast, however, we had to pay for it. We are there the first morning which was great , but then we went nearby because the selection and the atmosphere was a bit better. Our breakfast was $100K Rp and consisted of a meal we chose , coffee and fresh juice or fruits . Let me talk about the room now. It was excellent. They came and cleaned it every day and changed the towels. They even offered us filtered water daily. The hotel had hairdryer, toothbrush and toothpaste, toiletries , robe and everything else you need plus a kitchenette. The bathroom had a big walking shower and the overall style had a warm feeling. I love it. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The balcony was big and the view was beautiful. It was so quiet, no noise at all. We had AC and great WiFi. The only downside was that they have no elevator, which was not a big deal for us.
We had a wonderful stay at Wadari Retreat Villa Ubud on our very first overseas trip! The room was lovely and clean, with a fridge and everything we needed. The view from our room was nice. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming — always checking in with us, asking about our day, and making sure we had all the information we needed about the villa and the area. Even the owner personally introduced himself and made sure our stay was going well, which made us feel really looked after. The food was absolutely delicious — after big days of exploring, it was so nice to return to a relaxing dinner at the villa, occasionally ordering room service. We tried a range of items from the menu and loved everything. The location is a little outside the Ubud centre, but there are grocery stores and shops nearby, and it’s very easy to get into town using Grab. Overall, a beautiful and peaceful place to stay — we felt comfortable, cared for, and would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Ubud!
