A Magical Stay in Ubud I had an absolutely wonderful experience, staying at Uma Kalai. The villas are beautifully designed, ultra-comfortable serene and private. The restaurant has breathtaking views of a lush valley and rice fields. The spa provided the best massage I’ve had in my life. Surrounded by nature, this intimate boutique sanctuary offers the perfect blend of peace, elegance, and natural beauty. What truly sets Uma Kalai apart, however, are the extraordinary staff. From the moment I arrived, their warmth, genuine Balinese hospitality, and incredible attention to detail made me feel truly cared for. Every request was anticipated, and their thoughtful, personalised service elevated the entire stay into something extra special. I usually like to have new adventures, but I would return to Uma Kalai in a heartbeat.

It was easy to fall in love with Uma Kalai, and I returned for a longer stay just a week after my initial check out. The entire team here is absolutely exceptional, and the service is incredibly warm and caring. The people definitely make the place! I was surprised and delighted with welcome back treats, including the best passion fruit cheesecake I've tasted! As someone who has traveled full time for 4 years, I'm very grateful for these sorts of personal touches. I especially appreciate the opportunity to talk about Balinese culture in depth, and I thoroughly enjoyed many wonderful conversations throughout my stay. I've now spent time in 3 different rooms, and each has its unique charms. Whether you most value stunning valley views, baths, or private heated pools and steam showers, you will be delighted here. The massages are the best I've ever had. If you also love thoughtfully designed spaces, immaculate vibes, attention to detail, and being made to feel like family in an intimate setting, this is definitely your place. The delicious restaurant options (Balinese, Western and even Italian wine), complete gym with pilates reformer + yoga and meditation classes, and top notch spa make it possible to fully rest and recharge without venturing into the chaotic center of Ubud. Our stay at Uma Kalai was absolutely wonderful, and we couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend our honeymoon. The service was exceptional from beginning to end. Everyone was incredibly kind, polite and genuinely willing to go the extra mile to make us happy. A very special thank you to Ade, Agung, Eka, Jun, Nana, Purnamii and Roiyani and all the team— you were all amazing and made us feel so welcome. The hotel itself is beautiful. Our room was excellent and spotless, the cleanliness throughout the property was impeccable, and the restaurant and food were also very good. We were even surprised with a room upgrade, which made our stay even more special. The communication was fantastic throughout our entire stay. Highly recommended! We absolutely loved our stay at Uma Kalai and would definitely come back again. Thank you to the entire team for making our honeymoon so memorable! ❤️
