We had a very pleasant stay at Ulun Ubud Resort and would happily stay here again. Our room was conveniently located near the reception and swimming pool, which we really appreciated. It meant we didn’t have to walk too far around the resort each time we went out or returned after a day of sightseeing. The room was clean, housekeeping was good, and the staff throughout the resort were friendly and welcoming. The location was another big positive. It’s a convenient base for exploring Ubud’s attractions, with supermarkets and other amenities reasonably close by. The spa deserves a special mention. We had a very good massage here and found the masseuse skilled, with excellent technique. In fact, it was one of the better spa experiences we had in the Ubud area. The treatment menu is somewhat limited, so expanding the range of treatments would make an already good spa even better. Breakfast was included with our booking, although we found the choices fairly limited. We also had dinner at the resort on our first day, but the menu didn’t offer enough variety for us, so for the remainder of our stay we chose to eat outside. Expanding both the breakfast and dinner choices would improve the overall experience. The resort itself is older and has plenty of character, but some aspects could use refreshing. In particular, some of the bed linen looked quite old and a few pieces were torn. Replacing the older sheets and refreshing the bedding would make a noticeable difference. Overall, clean rooms, friendly staff, a convenient location and an excellent spa made Ulun Ubud a very good base for exploring Ubud. We would happily come back.

Beautiful location, nice natural surroundings. I’d say Ubud is overrated. Food was average, breakfast buffet tiny served in tiny plates. Eggs/ chicken is not part of the buffet it’s hidden in the kitchen you get one serve only. This is is nachos snacks in the picture it was rrp 55000 not worth it. After going to Hard Rock Hotel and enjoying the breakfast buffet this buffet was super tiny in comparison.
This is by far the most beautiful hotel we've seen. Gorgeous surroundings, view of the jungle, and the hotel design itself is so detailed and well done- just impressive. The breakfast vibes are a highlight: a beautiful balcony overlooking the sunrise, a small but decent buffet and a good selection of à la carte dishes. Quality is great: beef steak, scrambled eggs, gorengs, and reasonable portions, not massive. But this is where the good things end. What we cannot understand is the 4* this hotel claims. Hygiene was the biggest problem, corresponding more to a 2* hotel. The bathroom in particular was not clean, and also the rooms were refreshed a bit but far from clean - floors, sofa, walls, doors were all visibly dirty. And there is a really bad smell all the time in the toilet, sewage. Another huge problem was the inability to sleep. Each night around 4 am a rooster would crow for an hour or two. There are a lot in the area, and if they are a bit further, you could easily sleep through it with earbuds. But one or two felt as if they were right on the premises, and trust me, no one could sleep through that. So after a few exhausting nights, we were really looking forward to checkout. It's a huge shame to give a lower rating to such a wonderful place, but I think resting and a clean shower are basic, and without these it cannot be the 5* it would deserve if they fix this.
It's a very clean hotel with spacious rooms and beautiful view of the greens in the front and a sit out area. The food is also decent though the breakfast buffet spread limited. However the rooms smell musty and lack basic conveniences like a bin in the room or hooks to hang towels/ clothes. The lighting is also dim. Also it's almost 30 min drive from Central Ubud / market place so one spends a lot of time commuting. The evenings here are dull / quiet and staff though courteous , is not very enterprising and necessarily very cheerful. All in all , one doesn't truly enjoy the holiday vibe here though those looking for just a quiet retreat may enjoy it. - An Indian Traveller
IMPORTANT: This is the best hotel I have ever stayed at (also I booked the Honey Moon suite, was the most expensive and is a lot ..). The worst.. the stairs Spa: good but not cheap. Outside the hotel alt right you find one very very cheap at 2 min walking, recommend 100% go there. The jungle views are absolutely breathtaking. Since you’re surrounded by nature, don’t be surprised if you occasionally find a small insect or even a little branch in your room if a door has been left open — that’s simply part of the experience of staying in such an incredible natural setting. The service, however, is **1000/100**. Every single member of the staff was amazing. Truly one of the highlights of our trip. A special mention goes to the driver we hired, **Widi (or Wisday)**. He made us feel incredibly comfortable from the very beginning. He took us to the best places, drove safely and calmly, and was extremely professional throughout our stay. He made a huge difference in our overall experience. The rooms are stunning. We booked the hotel’s best suite, the **Honeymoon Suite**, which was located at the very bottom of the property, very private and close to the main pool. It was absolutely beautiful. The only downside of the hotel itself is the STAIRS— there are a lot of them, so be prepared. There was, however, one thing I really didn’t like. Guests are not allowed to swim in the pool after 8 PM. One evening, while relaxing on our terrace, we noticed three staff members swimming in the pool in their underwear and even eating nearby. This honestly felt inappropriate. If guests are not allowed to use the pool after that time, the same rule should apply to everyone. Especially when you’ve paid for a premium suite facing that exact area. When I mentioned it to a young receptionist that same night, he didn’t seem to care at all. The next day, I had to bring it up again with other reception staff so they could properly address the issue. Aside from that, breakfast was very good, and the only other minor inconvenience is that the hotel is not within walking distance of the city center — but that’s more about the way the area is designed than the hotel itself. Overall, despite that unpleasant incident, this was an unforgettable stay and one of the highlights of our trip.
