The Tamarind Resort Nusa Lembongan Bali

This was our first time visiting Nusa Lembongan, and we chose to stay in a Villa with our family. A few days before our trip, I contacted The Tamarind customer service to ask about arrival logistics, fast boat details, and birthday celebration arrangements. The customer service team was extremely patient, providing helpful advice and arranging everything seamlessly. Thanks to them, our journey and arrival went super smoothly. Upon check-in, the staff warmly guided us through all the facilities while we enjoyed our welcome drinks. Everyone greeted us with bright, welcoming smiles—our entire family was so happy! Our villa was located on the highest level. Walking up and down the slope every day was a bit of a workout, but if you're not up for it, the lobby provides golf cart shuttles to take you upstairs. The hotel location is also super convenient—just a short walk down the alley brings you right to the beach. It’s a charming little harbor where you can easily hop on a boat for snorkeling, and the beachfront is lined with bars, restaurants, and massage spots. You could easily spend days here without ever getting bored! Although Grab isn’t available on Nusa Lembongan, the hotel can easily help arrange transport for you. Plus, there are plenty of local taxi drivers right at the end of the alley where you can get helpful local tips and info. The hotel features three swimming pools of varying depths. The main infinity pool is truly stunning during the day! For breakfast at the restaurant, main dishes are made-to-order, while a selection of bread and cereal is available self-serve. I can confidently say that all the food was delicious and of high quality! The restaurant staff were all genuinely friendly, frequently checking in on us with warm greetings that made every meal a delightful experience, especially in the lovely open-air setting. 😌 On our first night, I reported a few minor room issues to customer service—one being a small cracked floor tile near the bathroom door, which I was concerned might cut the kids if they ran around barefoot. Considering that The Tamarind is a 5-star hotel, I also shared feedback that we expected a slightly higher standard of room condition. That same evening, we received a written apology and were informed that the Resort Manager would meet with us in person the next morning. I must sincerely praise the manager’s attitude and how professionally the situation was handled—I have never experienced better service quality! It was a perfect display of top-tier, boutique-style service. We had an absolutely wonderful holiday at The Tamarind and truly look forward to visiting again in the future!

The hotel looks much better during the day than when arriving at night. It is located on a bend in the road, and the first impression was not particularly welcoming, but in daylight the views and swimming pools are very attractive. We received a room upgrade, which we appreciated, although the room still felt closer to a good four-star hotel than a true five-star experience. The property could also benefit from some maintenance and renovation. There are long and steep flights of stairs to reach some rooms, which can become inconvenient. The location is also not very practical, although getting around Nusa Lembongan generally requires a car or scooter. The food was excellent, and the restaurant staff were very friendly, professional and attentive. The reception staff were much less helpful and seemed more interested in selling additional services than in assisting guests. The pools were the highlight. As the hotel has relatively few rooms, they were often very quiet, and several times we had them completely to ourselves. Good views and a relaxing atmosphere, but overall the value for money was only average.

Lovely hotel in a great location, just a few mins walk from the beach and coastline. The property is beautiful, and the food, from breakfast onwards, was excellent. My girlfriend had a scooter accident while we were on the island, and the hotel staff went above and beyond at every step to help us with her care. I’m eternally grateful to everyone who works at the hotel for their kindness and support. Tamarind Hotel is a 10/10. Highly recommended.

An absolutely shocking experience for our honeymoon While we were at the hotel’s spa enjoying a one-hour massage, a hotel employee entered our room to leave a notice informing us about an anti-mosquito treatment scheduled for the following day. During that same hour, our cash was stolen and our credit card details were compromised. Four fraudulent transactions were made using our card while we were still at the spa. We reported the incident to the hotel manager. After discussing what had happened, not only was no compensation or goodwill gesture offered, but the manager also accused us of making false allegations instead of taking the situation seriously. We are not claiming to know who committed the theft. However, it is a fact that someone entered our room during our absence to leave the notice, and it was during that same period that our cash disappeared and our credit card information was stolen. What is even more disappointing than the theft itself is the hotel’s response. We expected the incident to be handled professionally. Instead, we were treated as if we were lying and received no support or compensation whatsoever. I strongly advise anyone considering staying here to think twice. Based on our experience, the security of guests’ belongings and the management’s handling of serious incidents are deeply concerning.
