I had a wonderful experience staying at the Sankara Suites and Villas. All the staff was so welcoming and kind. The rooms are amazing and the service was top tier. Great breakfast and good accommodations into the city center. I had airport transportation from the hotel with Bagus, and he was so kind and friendly. I would definitely recommend to stay at the Sankara

We stayed for 2 weeks . The staff are fabulous, the gardens and mini rice field , just lovely. The restaurant was fine . The rooms generous in size and the deluxe villa with pool has a deep cool water which I liked. Not a new resort , but traditional style. It needs renovation particularly the timber decking round the main pool and villa pools as they are rotting and dangerous. A family club and fitness centre is right next to the Sankara and can be quite noisy at times . Due to the step stairs and uneven pathways this is not a destination for seniors . Fine for younger agile people. There are a lot of stairs and no handrails. .
I think this hotel is a hidden gem in the Ubud area. From the moment we arrived, we were amazed by the beautiful landscape and the unique concept of the hotel. The room was very clean and comfortable, with a lovely smell from the oil burner that made the atmosphere even more relaxing. The breakfast was also delicious, with a great variety of food. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and really enjoyed our stay. Highly recommended if you are looking for a peaceful and beautiful place to stay in Ubud!
I definitely wanted to give them a 5 star but after staying there for more than 2 days I began to notice so flaws in their services. The staff hands down were sweet. But, they to work on ongoing cleaning services and maintenance to their products and property. There are mosquitoes there and while they were a plug in my room to keep them away it didn’t work. Towels were old and dingy. I keep requesting cleaner towels. The restaurant food was not tasty at all. We book the Balinese’s dinner and show and the à la carte menu was terrible. The dance performance could use so improvement to include more dancers to really give a meaning to their culture. Overall, the room size and bedding was pleasing. I also got the floor pool decoration for my birthday which was a wow moment. Not sure if I’ll stay there again but, Bali I love it so I know for sure I’ll be back.
Sankara Villa and Suites in Ubud was an incredible experience from start to finish. Tucked away in the jungle, it’s the perfect place to disconnect, very quiet and peaceful, with a wonderful atmosphere throughout. The spa and massages were fantastic, truly relaxing, and the staff there were so kind and super nice. In fact, the kindness and helpfulness extended to everyone at the hotel, the staff even helped us arrange a scooter rental. We also did a half day tour with a wonderful driver who shared so much knowledge about the local people, nature, and the island itself, it really added to our understanding of Bali. Breakfast was a highlight every day, served à la carte, beautifully presented, super clean, and genuinely tasteful, with lots of options to choose from. The restaurant service staff were great, and the reception team was always friendly and ready to help with anything we needed. What really stood out was how authentically Balinese the hotel feels. It has such a traditional atmosphere in the best possible way, and the staff dressing traditionally added such a beautiful touch. The whole place felt like a family. We would recommend Sankara Villa and Suites to everyone looking for a genuine, peaceful, and heartfelt stay in Ubud!
