Our 6th visit to The Mulia Suites, and nothing quite compares to the level of service this resort provides. From the moment we arrive, we’re reminded why we keep coming back. The service is simply second to none!
A special thank you to our wonderful butlers, Debi, Adi, Bobby and the rest of the team, as well as Vrisa, Andy and the entire restaurant team. The supervisors on duty have also been impeccable. Every interaction is warm, genuine and thoughtful, making us feel so welcomed and looked after every single time.
It’s the people who make The Mulia so special, and the team continues to exceed our expectations visit after visit. We leave with beautiful memories and are already talking about when we can return.
Absolutely stunning property! The room (earl suite) was huge and incredibly well appointed with outdoor hot tub, huge living areas, 2 bathrooms and the most spectacular perfect view directly over the pool and out to the Indian Ocean.
The free cocktails and afternoon tea from 4-6 each day were generous and fun. Beware though, the cocktails are strong! We were so pleased to have chosen The Mulia rather than the larger resort part of the complex, as the pool and facilities were much quieter.
Even better than the facilities were the staff. In particular, Vrishi and Cindy were delightful and we thoroughly enjoyed chatting with them each day. Vrishi always had something new he wanted us to try, whether it was an off-menu juice at breakfast or a signature martini at cocktail hour - and his recommendations were always spot on!

We checked in to the mulia earl suite beach view room after spending five nights at Alila Seminyak, and the contrast couldn’t have been greater.
If you’re looking for a huge, bustling resort with endless facilities, pools, restaurants and people, this may be exactly what you’re after. But if, like us, you value atmosphere, character and a sense of calm bit with cool vibes and quirks, I’d think carefully before booking.
The scale of this resort is hard to appreciate from the photos. It feels less like a luxury hotel and more like a cruise ship or a large shopping mall constantly busy, with people everywhere and very little sense of intimacy. Rather than feeling relaxed, we found it overwhelming and strangely impersonal.
The grounds and facilities are well maintained, but for us they lacked any real soul or sense of place. We came to Bali hoping for tranquillity and warmth, yet the resort felt generic enough that it could have been anywhere in the world. The feeling could be described as grim for some, it’s like being in the twilight zone, very bland/ beige/ soulless
This isn’t a criticism of the staff, who have been lovely. It’s simply that the overall experience wasn’t what we expected from a luxury Balinese resort.
I hope this review helps anyone who, like us, prefers smaller, more intimate hotels with personality and substance. If that’s the experience you’re seeking, it’s worth knowing just how enormous and high volume this property is before you book.
If I could, I’d leave but unfortunately my booking is through luxury escapes and not refundable. Poor choice by me! I’m very much regretting this booking.
The Mulia is an outstanding resort overall and delivers a truly luxurious experience. The property is made up of three sister hotels, which is very overwhelming at times.
The dining options are exceptional across all venues, with an impressive variety and consistently high-quality food. The rooms are beautifully presented, featuring top-of-the-range amenities and appliances that make the stay feel extra special.
That said, the kids’ club and pool areas could use some improvement to better match the overall standard of the resort. Luxurious resort but not really kids friendly.
The real highlight, is the staff. Almost everyone we encountered remembered our names—especially our daughter—which made the experience feel incredibly personal. Their friendliness and attentiveness truly set this resort apart.
Honestly the low reviews are just ridiculous! I don’t know what people expect! We stayed here with 3 families. 10 of us. Young children and a teenager. Service was impeccable. Food is something on another planet. Rooms are spacious and clean. Very comfortable bed. Excellent shower pressure. Breakfast buffet was amazing. Dinner buffet incredible! Onsite restaurants are a bit limiting however, you can get what you need! They were incredibly accommodating. Provided a cot, steriliser, baby bathtub and just really wonderful.highly recommend!
