The hotel itself is amazing! The breakfast as well! But the road to get there was closed and they don’t allow Grab/Gojek so our driver couldn’t reach the hotel. We tried to contact the hotel but the communication was a bit hard. We ended up walking 20 minutes at night with our luggage through the street. Worth it for the view from the pool and the good rooms. But ask in advance what the best way to reach the hotel is!
My family of four booked this hotel. Unfortunately, we overlooked some important reviews regarding issues that we should have taken into consideration. I am writing this review to alert others about the strong unpleasant smell in the lower level rooms. We reserved two rooms and were given ones on the lowest floor, which was situated beneath the swimming pool. The hotel is structured on different levels, with upper levels closer to the street and lower levels descending towards the river Sakti. There was a noticeable sewage odor in the rooms, accompanied by mold growth, likely due to poor plumbing and the high humidity in the area. Sleeping comfortably or even staying in the rooms was nearly impossible, leading us to spend most of our time outside. Despite considering finding alternative accommodations in Ubud, given the peak season, we were constrained by the limited options available. We notified the staff about the issues and requested room changes, but unfortunately, all upper rooms were already occupied. The staff attempted to assist, but the smell worsened during the night. Additionally, we sought a partial refund, considering the unsuitability of the rooms for habitation. However, our request was disregarded by the owner/management, who, being non-Indonesian, appeared indifferent to our concerns. Having traveled all the way from a distant location 12,000 km away and explored Indonesia for a month, this hotel marked our most significant disappointment during our trip. I hope this revised version better conveys your experience at the hotel.
Had an amazing stay at River Sakti in Ubud. The rooms are nicely furnished and clean and staff were very friendly and welcoming. The location is beautiful with all rooms overlooking the pool and jungle. There is also a communal seating area to lounge or use the kitchen. Location is great, only 10-15 minutes drive into the centre of Ubud. Would definitely stay again!
You HAVE to stay here while in Ubud. Gorgeous pool, close to centre but very silent. Only 5 minute with motorbike. The staff is so helpful en friendly, they make the best breakfast. All for good prices. They go the extra mile (literally, since they brought me my dress that I forgot to the next hotel I stayed in.) Definitely recommend!
Wonderful place to stay. The staff are so incredibly kind and helpful! The location is about 5/10 minutes motorbike ride outside the centre but it’s great because it’s much quieter and better views! Our first night we did hear what sounded like a mouse outside our room which scared us a bit but can’t be helped as you’re in the jungle. The staff offered for us to move rooms which was nice. The balcony has a great view as does the infinity pool where you can also order a floating breakfast which was lovely! They provide you with daily cleaning, slippers, robes, fresh towels, toiletries ect. You can also book scooter rental through them and also get a massage. Would definitely come back
