The atmosphere definetely amazing, surrounding by hills and the ocean view. The rooms so clean and spacious, even have big balcony that i stayed in. Directly views to the ocean. The staffs were very friendly. They also have restaurant that you can enjoy having meals at with directly ocean view! Definetely a dream place that i will go back again. They also have shuttle to pick up or delivery to nearby Lipah beach. The resort value to me is a completely 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We stayed at Mathis Lodge for only two nights. The hotel itself is really nice. The rooms are mostly made out of Bambus and wood which makes it fit in the surrounding very well. You just have to live with all the animals nearby 😅 The drive up there is quite adventurous. We knew about it before (as several reviews state it) so it wasn’t a big deal. Balinese streets are very often just not as good. The staff was really nice and attentive. We communicated mostly via WhatsApp to get things to the room or organise stuff which worked very well. The food was good. The pool area and view are amazing. This in combination with the location would make it perfect for some romantic if it wasn’t for the loud music of a neighbour. The music, especially the bass, partially started in the morning (one morning at 6:30) as well as both nights. The bass was so annoying that sleeping wasn’t possible. Luckily it stopped at around 22:00. The hotel knows about it but there isn’t much to do unfortunately. That was the only downside on an otherwise really nice place
We had the pleasure of staying in the Jacuzzi Villa with breakfast included, and our experience was absolutely exceptional. The villa is beautifully designed, offering an authentic Balinese atmosphere with breathtaking views that make every moment unforgettable. The entire team was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. The service was outstanding and truly exceeded our expectations. If you are looking for peace, stunning scenery, and genuine Balinese hospitality, Mathis Lodge is the perfect place. We highly recommend this beautiful property and would love to stay here again.
This place was wonderful! It has a great view and the rooms were stunning with lots of space and an outdoor shower. You have to take a shuttle up a steep road but the view at the top makes it worth it. The staff was very friendly and nice, made you feel welcomed. They offer lots of different kind of food and were very helpful with my gluten free diet.
We had an incredible stay at Mathis Lodge Amed—easily one of the most unique and beautifully designed properties we’ve experienced. The lodge blends tribal Indonesian design with luxury in the most tasteful way—raw wood, bamboo, stone, and handcrafted details everywhere. From bamboo taps to mirrors hung with rustic chains, every element feels thoughtfully curated. We stayed in both Deluxe and Jacuzzi Lodge (upgraded), and the rooms were stunning. The spacious balcony, where we even had dinner, and the semi-open bathroom design made the experience truly special. The Jacuzzi Lodge was a big hit with our son. The floating breakfast in the pool was a highlight, and the spa experience (for our entire family) was excellent. Service was warm and attentive throughout, and the WhatsApp Butler service made everything seamless.
