Majo Private Villas

Our experience during our stay was, overall, very good. The staff treated us extremely well and we felt very comfortable throughout our time there. Precisely because of this, what happened on our last night left us extremely disappointed. When we returned from dinner, we discovered that someone had entered our villa, gone through our belongings and searched through our suitcases, which were already packed and ready for us to leave the next morning. The cash we had set aside to pay for the motorbike and transport to the port the following day had also been stolen. Our villa was located right next to the restaurant, which makes the situation even more concerning. Later, a friend told us that a few months earlier, they had experienced a very similar situation at the same accommodation. The most important thing for us is not the money. What was truly disturbing was discovering that someone had entered our villa and gone through our things, our suitcases and our personal belongings while we were away. We felt violated, vulnerable and unsafe in our own room. The feeling that someone had been going through your personal belongings without your permission is something that is very difficult to forget. For this reason, we strongly recommend that future guests take great care of their belongings, especially cash and valuables, and carefully consider the security measures in place at the accommodation. What was also extremely disappointing was the way the situation was handled afterwards. The manager assured us that she would report what had happened to the police and keep us informed. It has now been a month, and we have received no information, no copy of the police report and no update whatsoever regarding the incident. We understand that a hotel cannot control absolutely everything that happens, but we do expect security, responsibility and, above all, transparency when something this serious occurs. Money being stolen is one thing; having someone enter your villa and go through your personal belongings is something much more serious. We leave with mixed feelings because the service throughout our stay had been excellent. However, what happened on our last night and, especially, the complete lack of follow-up afterwards has completely changed our perception of the accommodation. Please be careful if you choose to stay here, and do not leave cash or valuables in your room. For us, the issue is not only what was stolen, but the feeling of insecurity and the invasion of our privacy that we were left with.

We had a wonderful stay at Majo Villas. The privacy of the villa was incredible, and the design creates a beautiful, relaxing atmosphere. The breakfasts every morning were absolutely delicious, and having bicycles included with the villa made it so easy and fun to explore the island and enjoy the views. What truly stood out was the outstanding hospitality. The staff goes above and beyond to give top-notch service. One of the team members even made an effort to speak some Spanish with us, which was such a cute, thoughtful gesture that we truly appreciated! The only minor thing to note is that the air conditioning was a bit weak and didn’t cool the room down as much as we would have liked, so it got a little warm at night. However, everything else was absolutely perfect. Highly recommended if you want a beautiful, private getaway with amazing service. We would definitely come back!🩵

I had a reservation for 4 nights, but couldn’t stay for more than 1 night because of how hard it is to get to the resort, it’s impossible to walk to the resort in the rain, muddy roads and smells like horse 💩. The room it self was not clean, dusty and I found spider webs on some areas. The mini bar is located in the outdoor area which doesn’t make any sense. The only good thing about this place is the staff who were really friendly and welcoming. If you’re really looking for a luxurious place to stay in this is not it. To be fair, they tried to compensate us with a 15% discount but it was a long process so we refused.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An absolute little paradise on Gili Trawangan! The villas are beautiful, very clean, and incredibly private with their own pool — it really feels like a peaceful escape. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing, perfect after a day of snorkeling or exploring the island. The staff is amazing, always kind, helpful, and attentive. You truly feel welcomed from start to finish. Breakfast served in the villa is a big plus — delicious and so nice to enjoy in total privacy. The location is ideal: close enough to everything by bike, yet far enough to stay quiet and peaceful. Honestly, an incredible experience — we didn’t want to leave!
