Property is excellent, but service is what made it a 5 star. From the moment, I arrived I felt a sense of calm... the welcome drink, the cool towel and a "ceremonial" bracelet. Lisna was just the perfect host, with her calm voice and knowledge, she showed me around the beautifully kept property. Everyone that I came across were kind and hospitable... the pool attendants, the servers at the restaurants, the amazing photographer, and the people maintaining the grounds. Worth joining is their activity that takes you to the surrounding rice paddies and the village.

Overall, it's a nice hotel with some highlights. Rooms were spacious, beds were very comfortable and place was clean and well maintained. Breakfasts were amazing. You can see the hotel's French connection in their crepes and pastries made fresh each morning...could have stayed there all day! Outside of the breakfast, the meals were so-so...started to eat outside the resort after a couple of days. Drinks at sunset (gin o'clock at Kokokan Restaurant) are a must! It was so picturesque and idyllic - watching the rice paddies' farmers ploughing the fields below. It was also interesting to visit the local temple and learn how to make the local Balinese offering. These were offered complimentary as part of their Kappa Instants which was a nice touch but certainly not at the level of a paid tour guide (so if those things interest you, best you actually seek out a proper tour guide). On the whole though, service was just ok. That's not to say the staff aren't lovely and very friendly - it's just that the quantity of staff rarely led to a quality of service i.e. drinks never arriving, wrong food orders served etc. etc. It's great to see so many local staff being employed but the lack of actual oversight and training was apparent. There's definitely pros and cons with its location too - I think it's a great place if you plan to stay in the resort but be aware that there's not much else to do around it. They do offer a limited bus schedule into Ubud which is nice but you'll have to find your own way back if you want to stay in town for dinner (which I recommend).
Our stay at Kappa Senses Ubud was truly unforgettable. Without a doubt, one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. The level of service is exceptional, with genuine kindness and attention to every detail. It’s impossible to mention everyone, but a special thank you to Lola and the entire front desk team for making us feel so welcome throughout our stay. Thank you to Chef Dwi and Estina for sharing their passion for Balinese cuisine and sambal with such enthusiasm, always with a smile. A big thank you as well to Putu, Kevin, and the entire restaurant team for their impeccable service and warm hospitality. Our Balinese massage with Nella and Iluh was an absolute highlight professional, relaxing. Thank you to Ary for the rice field walk. She shared her knowledge with such passion and enthusiasm, making the experience authentic. Thank you to Mustika from the permaculture garden for taking the time to explain the ecosystem with such passion, kindness, and generosity. Every member of the team made our stay truly special. We can’t wait to come back!
Away from the busy Ubud center Kappa senses is located in a perfectly beautiful & calm location. Room was spacious enough for 3 people, very tropical feel, everything is luxurious (the toilet & shower in the room was rather simple but functional and no complaints). Lobby, restaurants, pool etc facility is great. Breakfast was amazing (loved the personalized juice service) Staffs are all kind & attentive. Top service! What makes this hotel special is the activities offered for free. We joined the permaculture with the gardener Mustika, he takes huge pride in the garden and gave us explaintion about the plants with great passion! While myself & husband had a tour with Mustika, Widati kindly looked after our son (7 yr) and she taught him how to fish in the hotel pond. He had such a wonderful time! It is really thoughful that they kindly look after our child so thaw we can focus on the activity. We also made gebogan (traditional offering tower) on the galundan day with Lisna and she took us for a prayer too! (they let us borrow praying attire) Also joined coffee culure activity while Wayan kindly looked after our son with a stone painting activity which he enjoyed a lot. Activities are also nice opportunity to get to know other people who are staying at this hotel. Kappa senses is more than just a place to stay, it's an entire Bali experience. Highly recommendable for curious people who want to learn & experience Balinese customs/tradition.
A true paradise tucked just minutes from Ubud Central, incredibly convenient for a quick ride into town, yet it feels like stepping into a peaceful jungle retreat. The atmosphere is tranquil, quiet, and surrounded by nature. Our suite was absolutely humongous, with a separate living room, a unique downstairs bathroom, and a huge balcony overlooking the rice fields complete with a large jacuzzi tub perfect for relaxing with a view. Beyond the stunning aesthetics, what truly made our stay unforgettable was the exceptional staff. Everyone was warm, welcoming, and always smiling. They helped prepare the tub for us, giving us one of the most relaxing moments of the trip. The food was delicious, and the pools were very private and serene. Upon arrival, we were gifted traditional Balinese bracelets, which was such a thoughtful touch. One of the biggest highlights was the photography session the resort offered; the photos turned into our favorite couple album ever. Since we were celebrating our anniversary, they also surprised us with beautiful room decorations and desserts. An unforgettable stay in every way, and we will definitely be back. P.S. This review was posted two weeks after our stay, and I’m still mesmerized by the entire experience ❤️
