Kamandalu Ubud

Me and my partner spent 5 wonderful nights at Kamandalu, choosing the hotel to find a balance between relaxation and also being closely located to central Ubud for exploring and dining. The hotel and grounds are beautifully maintained, definitely giving the feeling of staying in a traditional Balinese village. Our garden villa was very comfortable and clean. Despite not having a pool, the outdoor shower and day bed outside were very nice touches. The best part however was the service - we really felt the genuine warmth and helpfulness of everyone in trying to make our stay the best possible experience! A few things to note: - The quality of the breakfast and food in the hotel is good but not the best. We got a great deal for our stay so were happy but did not think this was reflective of 5 star luxury compared to other hotels we have stayed at. - There is construction of a new hotel next door so expect to see scaffolding and hear noise in the lobby, restaurant and main pool areas. This is expected to go on for the next 6 months and whilst it didn't greatly impact our stay, it did reduce the serene feeling of the resort in those areas. - Whilst the resort appears close to central Ubud, traffic along the main road into town can be really bad, especially in the evening. Plan for and expect to spend up to 40 mins in a car for what would normally take 10 - 15 mins without traffic :)

We celebrated our Indian and Chinese wedding at Kamandalu, and we can't recommend it highly enough, both as a wedding venue and as a place to stay. From the moment you walk in, the beautiful Balinese architecture and lush natural surroundings make you feel instantly calm and at peace. We stayed in the King Suite, which was wonderfully spacious with plenty of room to relax, and designed in the local style with a daybed and an outdoor shower. The view from our villa's pool was stunning, and waking up to the sunrise from bed in the warm tropical Bali weather was the perfect way to unwind. What truly made our wedding unforgettable was the team. Bringing two cultures together meant a lot of different needs, and everyone went above and beyond. The kitchen did an incredible job with the buffet, serving fresh, delicious food that catered to every dietary requirement without compromising on flavor. Both of our families are still talking about how amazing the food was! Our wedding also included many performances, and the hotel's tech team was so collaborative and accommodating in making sure everything ran smoothly. Throughout our wedding festivities, the staff made us and all our guests feel completely at home. Our days there were pure bliss. Each morning began with yoga in the beautiful yoga room, with birds chirping as the sun rose, followed by a vibrant breakfast buffet full of fresh fruit and juices, and a refreshing dip in the pool. In the evenings, we unwound with a massage surrounded by the forest. It was the most relaxing stay we could have asked for. We're writing this on our first wedding anniversary to say thank you once again, especially to Erik and Bhu Ayu. By the end of our stay, you felt like part of our family, celebrating our special day right alongside us. Kamandalu will always hold a special place in our hearts, and we hope to see you all again soon!

Wow our stay at Kamandalu Ubud was amazing! It is so beautiful and the customer service is outstanding! It’s thoughtfully designed and so relaxing! The staff escorted us to our room and gave us a tour of the room which was lovely. There is also a turn down service which was really nice too. We had breakfast here which had a nice range of options, and felt like a decently healthy selection.

Staying at Kamandalu Ubud was truly an extraordinary experience—the absolute definition of peace of mind. During our stay in the spacious 3-bedroom villa with friends, we were completely pampered by the perfect blend of comfort, luxury, and the breathtaking views of the Ubud valley. ​The culinary offerings were equally impressive; both the Western and Indonesian dishes served were of premium quality. Complemented by highly personal and attentive service, the staff truly went above and beyond, ensuring every detail was taken care of from check-in to check-out. ​The property is not only a feast for the eyes but also a haven for photography enthusiasts. The iconic koi pond and the forest swing bed were our favorite, highly 'Instagrammable' spots. Furthermore, a variety of exciting activities made our getaway even more memorable—from the enchanting fun outdoor movie night and romantic dinners overlooking the valley, to the unforgettable experience of a floating breakfast in our private pool. The atmosphere is incredibly peaceful, enhanced by cool breezes and lush greenery all around the resort. ​The harmonious combination of natural beauty, top-tier facilities, and impeccable comfort made us feel right at home. I highly recommend this destination to anyone seeking the perfect balance of leisure and aesthetic vibes.
