Hotel Vila Lumbung

We stayed in a Deluxe Lumbung — or rather, we were meant to. A travel agent error meant we were moved into a lower room category on arrival, which was no fault of the hotel, and the staff handled it graciously. They were warm, helpful and quick to assist throughout our stay, and that deserves credit. The room we ended up in, though, wasn't up to standard on cleanliness. The towels had a noticeable odour and the couch had visible staining. Neither is difficult to fix, but both are the sort of thing guests notice immediately. The pool area and gardens are also looking tired and would benefit from a more rigorous maintenance. The landscaping is a real asset here and it isn't being shown at its best. I'd still say the hotel has clear potential. The lumbungs themselves are lovely from the outside — I'd have liked to see one from the inside — and the setting and service are already there. With tighter housekeeping standards and better upkeep of the grounds, this place could comfortably compete with anything nearby. As it stands, it falls just short of what it could be.

Highly recommend Hotel Villa lumbung. Very affordable, traditional Balinese style accommodation. Ideal if you want a relaxing vacation, so beautiful laying by the pool.The service from staff is amazing, very friendly & so obliging. Close to lots of restaurants, even though the traffic is a bit hectic outside of the complex, you wouldn't know it existed inside. A little piece of paradise.

This wonderful resort may be a bit dated, but that only adds to it's charm. Set in the middle of Seminyak it is like a serene oasis and it is hard to believe that bustling traffic is nearby. Everything about the resort is wonderful. The setting, the pool, the food, but especially the staff. They were always very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I asked for some flowers in our room for our anniversary, but the presentation we found on our return just blew us away. A lovely memory. We would never stay anywhere else and we give it our heartfelt recommendation. Thank you to everyone at HVL for a wonderful holiday. Chris & Cathy in Oz.

Had a wonderful stay at this resort. The location is excellent, surrounded by beautiful views and a peaceful atmosphere. The rooms are spacious, clean, and very comfortable with all the necessary amenities. The staff is extremely friendly, polite, and always ready to help, making the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, a great place to relax and spend quality time with family and friends. Highly recommended!
