We had an absolutely perfect stay, from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. The resort itself is stunning, beautifully designed and located right on a quiet, tranquil beach that felt like a world of its own. Both pools were large and gorgeous, and because the resort is so spacious while not having an overwhelming number of rooms, it felt wonderfully private throughout our stay. On our second day, we had the main pool almost entirely to ourselves for the whole day. The resort felt like an open-air museum, with beautiful historical buildings, statues and paintings at every turn. The décor was simply stunning, particularly in both of the restaurants. We stayed in one of the bungalows, and the room was very spacious and full of character. The bathroom was equally impressive, featuring one of the largest rain showers we have ever encountered in a hotel. Breakfast was included and offered a wide variety of delicious options. We also dined at the resort twice and enjoyed some of the best meals we had during our entire trip on the island. The beach was wonderful and the hotel provided everything you could need, including snorkeling gear and paddleboards. While we loved the rooms, the pools and the resort as a whole, what truly stood out was the staff. Everyone was exceptionally friendly, helpful and genuinely committed to making our stay as enjoyable as possible. During our first dinner, the guest relations manager suggested setting up a private table on the beach for a romantic dinner. We took him up on the offer the following evening, and it was an unforgettable experience. Returning to our room that night, we were also greeted by a beautiful setting arranged by housekeeping, as seen in the photos. We truly wish we could have stayed longer and will absolutely be returning. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team, and in particular to our waiter Hadi and the guest relations manager, for going above and beyond to make our stay truly special.

Our stay at Tugu Lombok was truly exceptional and unlike any luxury resort experience we’ve had anywhere in the world. First, the property itself is extraordinary. Tugu Lombok is an ultra-luxury resort overflowing with character, history, and artistic vision. Every room is filled with remarkable Indonesian antiques, while the grounds are adorned with both ancient and meticulously recreated statuary. In an era when so many luxury hotels feel interchangeable and corporate, Tugu stands apart as a destination with a genuine soul and sense of place. The facilities are equally impressive. The resort offers several outstanding restaurants and bars featuring expertly prepared Indonesian cuisine alongside excellent international options. Highlights included the serene massage studio housed within a beachside temple, the beautiful swimming pool, and the breathtaking stretch of beach that seems to go on forever. What truly elevated our experience, however, was the staff. Throughout our stay, every team member was attentive, responsive, and genuinely invested in ensuring our comfort. Their professionalism was matched by warmth, kindness, and remarkable attention to detail. We traveled with a particularly complex set of dietary requirements: one vegetarian, two guests with celiac disease requiring strict gluten-free diets, and one unrestricted diner. The culinary team demonstrated an exceptional level of knowledge and care, accommodating our needs more thoroughly and confidently than any other luxury hotel we have visited. We felt completely safe and cared for at every meal, which allowed us to relax and fully enjoy the experience. Tugu Lombok is far more than a beautiful resort—it is a place of culture, artistry, hospitality, and unforgettable service. We cannot recommend it highly enough.
Honestly don't think I can do this place justice in a review but I'll try. Tugu is the best hotel I've ever stayed in, no exaggeration, service was amazing through and through from the reception team, to the serving staff, room staff, gardeners, chefs, security they are all so welcoming and attentive. The hotel perfectly blends history, nature, art, luxury and amazing service, to give you what I can only describe as a truly magical experience. It's full of wonderful architecture antiques and art and not just in the public areas but also in the rooms which are stunning. It has so many stunning little spots to find and you can eat anywhere on the site so long as you ask a day ahead. There are multiple pools we had a stunning infinity pool that went straight onto the beach, but the other pools were so nice we went to hang out there too. There's one by the restaurant and bar with loads of good food drink and seating options. At the other end of the absolutely majestic elephant pool much quieter great for swimming and visually stunning. Then there's the beautiful beach and prisrince sea if you want more swimming options, they provide snorkeling gear and sea shoes free. We did a few activities, a cooking class with the chef, a flower arranging class with one of the gardeners and a day our snorkeling with the turtles and loads of other wildlife. All of which were fantastic they were so patient, knowledgeable and friendly and all spoke English really well. Every need was anticipated and they constantly surprised us, with beautiful flower arrangements and real attention to detail in the rooms. They thought of everything and really tailor the experience to their individual guests needs. The room was amazing so we'll designed, comfortable, clean, charming luxurious, everything you could ask for. I really could talk about this place all day, it was a magical experience and we will certainly be back and brining everyone with us, an unforgettable experience. Best honeymoon I could have asked for.
What a jewel of a place, sadly we only had 2 nights here but our stay was amazing from the minute we arrived by speed boat from Gili to when we left before dawn today. The staff couldn’t do enough for us, so helpful, friendly and funny, and our room was prepared impeccably each night, our final night was out of this world, was not expecting that! The food was great, and the location is perfect, its surroundings are stunning, from the beach , gardens and all the beautiful architecture. As we had a very early departure they prepared a delicious breakfast box for the journey, and once we had woken up a bit our driver explained a lot of the island’s history. Loved it all, and thank you 🙏🏽 we would love to come back
I chose Hotel Tugu for its design and atmosphere, and I would say it delivered on that front. The style is one of a kind, dominated by antiques and artworks blending Sasak culture, Dutch influences and Hindu-Buddhist elements. Much wood, bamboo and traditional materials. The beach is beautiful, apparently one of the few parts with white sand. The water is extremely clear. Finally, the service was really warm. They're less of professional 5-star service, more of friendly neighbours. Special shout-out for our snorkelling guides and waterfall driver. Heads up, to stay here you must not be averse to nature, particularly fauna. Not only is the resort deep in the jungle, its open concept doesn't block much out. I saw a monitor lizard, rats, earthworms, many spiders and hence spiderwebs, and a hornet and a 20cm gecko in our toilet. What disappointed me was the facilities were old and dirty. I guess it's part of the charm, but I would appreciate some cleanliness to go with the antiquated setup. For example, my rain shower didn't work well. My villa also seemed smaller than I expected, considering I paid for an upgrade. Much of the floor area is the toilet and garden, which are outdoor so not very conducive. Finally, the food. They have a decent hotel-style menu, and the notion of an ala carte breakfast is also appealing, but standards were average. I do respect they clearly value fresh and local ingredients. But, for the western food, the execution failed them. For the Indonesian dishes, it's either salty or simplistic. As a Southeast Asian who has the luxury of Singaporean, Malaysian, Thai and Vietnamese food, I'm underwhelmed.
