My family and I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Resort in Canggu, Bali, and we had such an amazing experience! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, the location was perfect, and everything about our stay was top-notch. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious, with so many options to choose from each morning. The pool area was also so relaxing, with lovely music creating the perfect atmosphere to unwind. From the service to the facilities, everything exceeded our expectations. We couldn’t recommend this resort more and would definitely stay again!

A special mention to the receptionist who welcomed us and assisted with our check-in. Unfortunately, I don’t remember her name, but she was incredibly warm, welcoming, and professional, and made a great first impression.

A good stay with some room for improvement
I stayed here for three nights while visiting Bali and overall had a good experience, though there were a few things that kept it from being a five-star stay for me.
The staff were consistently warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout my stay. The rooftop pool is beautiful, and I especially enjoyed the aqua fitness class—it ended up being one of my favorite parts of my time here. I also appreciated the 24-hour security at the entrance, which made the property feel very safe.
My room was clean and comfortable, but the ground-floor room I was assigned had essentially no view, just another building and rooftop area. If having a view is important to you, it may be worth requesting a higher floor.
I also found the lighting in the room difficult, particularly around the mirror. It wasn’t ideal for applying makeup because the lighting cast shadows rather than illuminating my face evenly.
The breakfast staff were excellent, but I did find the restaurant atmosphere louder than I expected in the morning due to both the music and a nearby mechanical/fan noise. The food was good, although after spending time in Ubud I personally found it less fresh than what I’d been enjoying there.
The cocktails also didn’t impress me—they looked great but were fairly bland and weaker than I expected.
One thing to keep in mind is that the hotel is in the heart of Canggu. If you want to be surrounded by restaurants, cafés, shops, and the beach, the location is excellent. If you’re looking for a peaceful, quiet area, though, Canggu itself is very busy, with constant traffic, lots of people, and cigarette smoking common in outdoor public spaces. That’s not a criticism of the hotel, just something future travelers should know when choosing this location.
Overall, I had a pleasant stay thanks to the excellent staff, beautiful rooftop pool, and convenient location. With a few improvements to the room lighting, beverage quality, and some quieter dining ambiance, I think the experience would be even better
Everything about our stay at this resort was excellent. The rooms were impeccably clean and well-maintained throughout our visit. We also thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast every morning, which had great quality and options. What truly set this stay apart, however, was the staff service. It was incredibly good, efficient, warm, and highly professional, yet delivered so smoothly that their hard work almost goes unnoticed because they make hospitality look effortless. Highly recommended!
