Campuhan Sebatu Resort

We stayed here for our honeymoon. I think this resort used to be really nice based on what I hear from other reviewers but currently it’s a little rundown. We got there the first day and I was genuinely surprised that the staff wasn’t very friendly or warm. Every other place we’ve stayed in Indonesia had extremely friendly staff. Next we were shown our room, which involved a very long walk down about 70 steps. We got to our room, which looked very nice at a glance but when we started looking a bit more closely, we started noticing signs of poor maintenance and housekeeping: missing lightbulbs, no batteries in the tv remote, and the cups were quite dirty. Nothing major but it gave us the impression that the staff wasn’t very concerned with the upkeep of the resort. Next I decided to go take a look at the pool and I would say that it definitely could have used a cleaning. The view from the pool area is very beautiful though. Now let’s talk about the food. The Indonesian food is quite good here but the western food is not. Whatever you do, don’t get a pizza here. I also wished that they had a better alcohol selection, considering they call themselves a resort. As far as service goes, there really is none. Only once did one of the workers ask if we wanted our room cleaned. If you want your room cleaned you have to ask for it at the front desk. We messaged them and asked if we could get laundry done and they didn’t reply till the next day. I got the impression that most of the staff don’t care very much about the needs of the guests. None of them were rude to us but they seemed to have a kind of indifference, as if we were an inconvenience to them. Overall, I unfortunately can’t recommend this resort. There are much better options in similar price ranges nearby. I really hope they are able to save this resort and keep it from continuing to decline in quality.

We have been stay in the hotel for 3 days for our honeymoon. Such a romantic with a great view and private pool.The staffs are very friendly and helpful. We would like to recommended to those couples for their honeymoon or holidays.

The rooms were descent but not up to the mark.There were lot of spider web ,blankets were dirty . Service was good ,staff were helpful and amazing people. We also booked the spa services which was no doubt relaxing but no spa room it was done openly with just curtains.They were good and amazing person but there should have been a spa room

When we arrived, our first impression was surprise. The online photos present a far more modern and contemporary property than what we found in person. The driveway appeared overdue for maintenance, and the restaurant lacked the atmosphere, decor, and comfort expected of a four-star resort. Overall, the public areas looked tired and poorly maintained. The check-in staff and luggage attendants were friendly and efficient. Unfortunately, we were assigned the last villa in the resort, requiring a long walk down approximately 50 steps and a particularly steep staircase. The villa itself felt dated and insufficiently cleaned. While it had clearly been prepared for our arrival, it lacked the standard of cleanliness expected at this price point. There was visible dust and dirt in corners, human hair in several areas, stained towels, worn furniture, and an outdoor sofa that was dirty and missing cushions. Breakfast had to be ordered a day in advance and did not begin until 8:00am. The food was generally disappointing compared with similarly priced restaurants nearby. Other shortcomings included no television channels, in need of servicing, inefficient air conditioning, and a fridge without a freezer compartment. The biggest issue was the lack of pest control. The villa was surrounded by dense vegetation and wildlife, including mosquitoes, ants, spiders, wasps, and other insects. The bathroom had an unscreened window, damaged flyscreens, and doors that did not seal properly, leaving the room effectively open to insects and small animals. At night we discovered a tokay gecko living somewhere within the room. While harmless, its extremely loud call continued throughout the night and repeatedly disturbed our baby's sleep. Staff offered to relocate us, but because it was already late, we chose to wait until the following day. More concerning was that neither of the rooms we stayed in locked properly. Basic room security is something guests should be able to take for granted. The following day we requested the gecko be removed while we were out. However, when we returned six hours later, the room had not been serviced and the gecko remained. We then requested a room change, which staff arranged promptly. Our new room, located at the top of the resort, was significantly better. It was cleaner, more modern, had beautiful valley views, better air conditioning, and a fridge with a freezer compartment. However, cleanliness issues remained, including a shower drain clogged with hair. Housekeeping was inconsistent throughout our stay. Our room was never serviced, leaving us regularly short of essentials such as bottled water and toilet paper. The staff deserve praise for being consistently friendly, hardworking, and helpful. Unfortunately, the problems we experienced felt more related to management, maintenance, and quality control than the staff themselves. I have tried to keep this review objective and factual. After leaving, we stayed at another nearby resort with a similar rating, star classification, and price point, and none of the issues mentioned above were present. While the location and views have potential, the resort currently falls well short of the standard its photos, rating, and pricing suggest.
