Buahan, A Banyan Tree Escape

We really loved this place. The hotel has such a unique and memorable concept — the almost complete absence of walls creates an incredible feeling of being completely immersed in nature and surrounded by the jungle, while still feeling very comfortable and well taken care of. Before our stay, we were honestly quite worried about insects and mosquitoes because of how open the villas are. But surprisingly, not a single mosquito bit us during our entire stay. We were so impressed by how well the property is treated that we even asked the staff for the contact details of the supplier of the mosquito-repellent solution they use. They kindly shared the information with us, and we ended up ordering the same product for our own villa. We stayed for only one night, but even in such a short time we had a wonderful experience. Early in the morning, we went to watch the sunrise and then enjoyed breakfast with a beautiful view of the sunrise and the mountains. It is a very peaceful, atmospheric and beautiful place where you truly feel connected to nature without losing the sense of comfort. We were very happy with our stay and would definitely love to come back again.

If I could give this property more than 5 stars, I genuinely would. We stayed for 2 nights at Banyan Tree Escape in Buahan, and honestly, it was the most beautiful experience of our entire 14-day trip. From the pre-check-in itself, the reservations team made everything feel so personal. They knew my husband is a chef, that we were visiting for our honeymoon, and they even arranged the cutest note along with photo frames from our wedding. How thoughtful is that? The check-in experience was unlike anything we have experienced before. Our escapist, De Gus, was absolutely incredible. There is no typical “reception” style check-in here. Instead, he walked us around the property, gave us a beautiful botanical tour of everything growing around, and we even picked fresh cacao for ourselves. We stayed in Bale 5 with the heated pool, which I personally think is absolutely worth the money. The mountain views, the squirrels and sparrows around us, and the fresh mountain air made it feel so peaceful and special. The hospitality was another level. The entire team, from breakfast and dinner service to housekeeping, knew us by name. They remembered that we run a catering business, where we are from, what our taste palette is like, and every little detail that made us feel so cared for. They even noticed mosquito bites on me and instantly brought repellent without me asking. Everything they served, they served with such warmth and a genuine smile. The food was amazing too, both breakfast and dinner. I am vegetarian, and because their menu is so focused on plant-based dishes, it made such a big difference for me. I got to try the most delicious fruits, vegetables, and flavours throughout our stay. On our last day, our flight was at midnight, so we requested a late checkout, and the reservations team very kindly offered it as a gesture of goodwill. Their resort manager, Hang Ki, also sat with us and spoke about the vision behind Banyan Tree, which made us appreciate the property even more. Lastly, De Gus prepared personalised wooden engraved bag tags for us with our names on them, which was such a sweet final touch. This list could honestly go on, but what stayed with us the most was the intention behind the place. Banyan Tree Buahan has truly created an “escape” that beautifully brings together nature and luxury. We cannot wait to come back to Buahan. And to anyone reading this, 100% consider staying here. It is an experience you will remember.

A truly beautiful escape in Bali. Gave us one of the most unique and peaceful stays we have experienced. The private villa was beautiful, with a stunning view surrounded by nature. All we could hear were the sounds of the forest and the stream, which made the stay feel very calm, romantic, and special. A special thank you to Yoga, our personal manager/butler, for his outstanding service throughout our stay. Also, thanks to Ayu, who helped us from the airport with immigration and baggage. One moment that really stood out was when I lost my iPad on the plane. Budi the duty manager and The Buahan team proactively stepped in and helped save my iPad. That level of care and service was truly outstanding. The nearby waterfall experience was also very romantic and private. We really enjoyed the walk and the peaceful time there. I also remember the smiles and courtesy of the restaurant team. The food felt fresh and unique, and the overall experience was very memorable.

My husband and I recently stayed at Buahan, a Banyan Tree Escape, and it was truly one of the most memorable stays we’ve had in Bali. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely immersed in nature. The concept of having no walls and no doors was something very unique, allowing us to wake up to the sounds of birds, fresh mountain air, and breathtaking jungle views every morning. It was peaceful, romantic, and unlike any other resort experience. What made our stay even more special was the incredible hospitality of the team. A special thank you to Gusde and Adi for their warm welcome, genuine kindness, and attentive service throughout our stay. We would also like to thank all the lovely ladies (Riska and also 2nd lady but I forgot her name) at the Open Kitchen restaurant, but every single one of them made us feel so welcome and cared for. Their smiles and friendliness truly enhanced our experience. The food was exceptional, the villa was stunning, and every detail reflected the beauty and tranquility of Buahan. We left feeling refreshed, reconnected, and grateful for such a wonderful experience. Thank you to the entire Buahan team for creating memories that my husband and I will cherish for a long time.
