Alila Villas Uluwatu has been a fantastic stay and is one of those properties that actually has the wow factor you expect at this price point. The villas are huge, with a very open design, and having our own private pool has been one of my favorite parts of the stay. Really, everything about the property feels big and epic while somehow still keeping the design very simple and refined. It reminds me a little of an Indonesian version of one of those dramatic Big Sur properties—the setting and architecture are a major part of the experience rather than just a backdrop. We even had some entertaining neighbors: a group of monkeys raided our cabana, stole our French fries and then tried to drink our Red Bull. Definitely one of the more memorable moments of the trip. Service has been excellent. Everyone we’ve interacted with has been genuinely friendly and helpful, and the property feels extremely safe and well taken care of. A particular highlight was the on-site photography experience. Andy, our photographer, was fantastic and made taking the photos a genuinely enjoyable experience rather than something that felt staged or awkward. It ended up being one of the unexpected highlights of our stay. Breakfast has also been very good. The resort is isolated, but in a good way—it makes you want to spend time here. When we have wanted to leave, getting around with Grab/taxis has been easy enough. It’s certainly expensive, and personally it’s more than I would normally want to pay for a hotel in this part of the world. But having stayed here, it’s hard to argue that the experience doesn’t live up to the price. The scale, villa, private pool, setting and level of service make it feel genuinely special rather than expensive simply for the sake of being luxurious. I would absolutely stay here again if I returned to Bali.

Superlative suites, outstanding dining options that are thoughtfully curated with health and wellbeing in mind, and unparalleled, warm hospitality. Feels like actual heaven. Our second visit in less than six months. Unequivocally, one of my favourite hotels ever.
Вот более живой и естественный отзыв от имени мужчины: One of the few places in Bali that truly impressed me not because of luxury, but because of how thoughtfully everything is designed. Alila Villas Uluwatu has a very distinctive atmosphere. The architecture blends perfectly with the landscape, creating a sense of openness, calm, and privacy at the same time. Everywhere you look there are clean lines, natural materials, water features, and breathtaking ocean views. The location on top of the cliff is spectacular. Watching the sunset from here feels like something special, even by Bali standards. What I also liked is that the resort never feels crowded. Since the property is made up of private villas spread across a large area, you can enjoy a rare sense of space and tranquility. The service is professional, warm, and discreet. Everything runs smoothly without feeling overly formal or intrusive. Even if you’re not staying overnight, it’s worth visiting for lunch, dinner, or a relaxing afternoon by the pool. The minimum spend is absolutely justified by the experience and the setting. There are many beautiful hotels in Bali, but Alila remains one of the most iconic and elegant places on the island. Definitely worth experiencing at least once.
Had the best stay here for a relaxing 5 night getaway. From drop off to pick up the service was 100/10 - very attentive and will go out of their way to help you with your request. I only got one name (Sidi) but there were so many stand out staff members as well as the (handsome!!) fitness coach and yoga instructor. Golf buggy service and WhatsApp service was sooo good and never realised how nice it is to have room service twice a day. Loved the activities included with stay, great way to structure the day with minimal effort from us. The restaurants and bar onsite were fab, and overall it was very quiet and not over crowded which just added to the luxe. I’m very sad to now be comparing any other stay to this experience!!!
Alila Villas in Uluwatu was one of the last hotels we visited on our honeymoon. Now you don't need me to tell you it is stunning and insane! The hotel itself is grand and beautiful, the grounds are expansive and we didn't get close to exploring them (maybe if we come back we'll use the bikes they provide to cycle around). The gym is very well equipped for a hotel and well looked after. There are two hotels, I think the food is very good but the breakfast is exceptional with the dinner not being as good in my opinion. Service is incredibly good here, everyone is super polite and helpful! We loved chatting with Yumi (Kuda (I think I got that right?) Yumi and Rai but everyone that helped us was lovely, but it was especially nice getting to know you both! The pool is cool but I think a little overlooked by the restaurant which is fine but can feel a bit awkward sometimes (really this is a personal preference thing, didn't really bother us but I can see how it might bother some people) and there's not many loungers for people at the pool. I think it's designed more for instagram pictures (even though the pool is actually massive) and not lounging (also probably cause I think every room has it's own pool). I love what we called the "bird cages" that overhang and you can lounge in, they look really cool and I think give Alila the uniqueness that is has. The rooms are insane, like I would love to live in the room like that! The are IMMACULATE, like ridiculously clean. Room service also came and plugged in a smart tv cast thing so we could watch Netflix etc cause our TV wasn't a smart TV which was really good for when we were chilling before bed! Room service was great and quick, the showers were lovely and we had the option of indoor or outdoor (we used both) and a bathtub (also used that). His and her sinks with tonnes of space. They'd thought of everything in the rooms honestly. Music through a tablet system, individual light controls, the list goes on! Now as amazing as the hotel was we were unlucky in that our room was next to a construction site, we mentioned it and the hotel staff were kind enough to comp us a meal which was great but it was incredibly annoying and loud meaning we didn't use our pool at all and lie-ins were a no-go (cause it ruined the vibe) and went down to the communal one every time. Our room was one of the few worst affected cause it was high up and one of the two rooms right next to the site, when we walked down the steps etc towards the rest of the Alila we couldn't hear the noise weirdly, even a couple rooms down! We also could hear the beach club we found out eventually nearby every night (wasn't loud but you could hear it in the distance) in our room which wasn't super bothersome but was a bit annoying every night. I will say it's not the Alila's fault at all and they can't control that kind of stuff so we weren't that bothered. One final thing is we did one of the prebooked (journey to romance) things, which involved a boat ride, sunset and we didn't expect much but we actually loved it! Rai, one of the staff at the hotel drove us and kept us company throughout and it was such a great time - thank you again Rai! Having said all of that, the hotel is stunning, food (especially breakfast) is amazing, staff are lovely, room is incredible, it is an expensive splurge and we're not sure if we'd go back again. We loved Uluwatu in general but I think we'd go for something else (I'm not sure what). I will say you won't regret booking here for sure (we definitely don't) but we just personally wouldn't go back a second time (no fault of the Alila or staff, as the review reflects we had a great, 5-star time)!
