I initially was a little wary of some of the negative reviews but i am so glad i booked it. The best stay of my trip so far. Yes the rooms are a bit tired but tbh i had the best night sleeps (finally a solid pillow!), and it suits the traditional style it’s going for. The grounds are beautifully manicured. Plenty of space. Food tasted healthy and light overall (my preference). Everyone was friendly and welcoming.

Quiet part of Bali with Ocean views. Good for unwinding for a few days, but no longer as there isn’t much to do near the hotel. If the place was cleaned up a bit and they improved the food it would be much better. Note: construction of a beach wall out front to help with coastal erosion in June 2026. Not too noisy that it disrupted the peace and quiet.
Staying at Alila Hotels & Resorts was truly an exceptional experience. The ambiance is stunning—modern, elegant, and full of luxury vibes from the moment you arrive. Everything feels thoughtfully designed, from the architecture to the smallest details. The service is impeccable—warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Every staff member goes above and beyond to make your stay memorable. The overall experience honestly feels like it should be more than 5 stars. Perfect for a special occasion or simply treating yourself to something extraordinary. Highly recommended!
We stayed here for four nights. It was very peaceful and relaxing, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The hotel pool was right in front of our balcony — lying on the lounger, looking at the blue sky, white clouds, the ocean, and the pool, was truly healing. Breakfast was à la carte with a wide range of options, including Western and local flavors.. The menu even changed every few days. This hotel has the slowest pace of any I’ve stayed at in Bali — perfect for pure relaxation. All staffs are very friendly and helpful. There’s also a famous dive spot nearby, with lots of small fish and even sea turtles.
Everything was great! We were concerned that the weather would not cooperate but we ended up lucking out and not running into any trouble. Even if the rain had been a problem, the relaxing atmosphere at the resort would have made the stay perfect either way. Everything from the room, to bellhop to the restaurant were beyond reproach. I would like to single out Windi, at the front desk, who went out of her way to secure us some fresh aloe vera for our sun burns. I would not hesitate to recommend the Alila Manggia for a relaxing stay if they want to get away from the hustle and bustle of Ubud and Sanur.
