Disappointing Stay Despite Lovely Staff We stayed for four nights in a private pool villa. Unfortunately, our overall experience was disappointing. The main positive was the staff, who were genuinely kind, welcoming and helpful. The villa was not well maintained. There were gaps underneath the entrance door and around the pool door, allowing bugs to enter, and we had to cover the gaps ourselves. The bathroom sink was unstable, and the uneven flooring made walking inside the villa feel unsteady and unsafe. Overall, the layout and condition of the villa did not feel comfortable or relaxing. We also did not feel comfortable using the private pool as it was directly next to dense trees and vegetation, making us concerned about insects or other small creatures entering the pool area. Breakfast only started at 8:00 am, with limited choices. Although it was nicely prepared and presented by the staff, we felt the quality of the ingredients could have been better. The daily drinking water supply was also very limited. Housekeeping was only available from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, and the shuttle to Ubud centre ran only twice a day and was one way only. Overall, the staff were lovely, but the maintenance, comfort and limited services meant that the stay did not meet our expectations.

This is the closest place to Paradise I could imagine. In the amazing rainforest, teaming with wildlife. Fantastic staff, always friendly and helpful, wonderful food and drinks. I enjoyed the location more than any other exotic location I have been to. Even the ghekkos are pretty friendly (apart from one who got a bit territorial in the middle of the night, once). Some features such as the pool decking need a little upgrade but that didn’t put us off. One of the most special things for me was waking up and hearing the river raging below us, and watching and listening to the forest coming alive. Our eight year old daughter loved the pools and was made to feel so welcome. Ubud is nearby and is vibrant and felt very safe. Come to Alam Ubud for an amazing adventure.

If you’re looking for a peaceful and rejuvenating retreat, this is the perfect place. The room, private pool, and vegetarian meals were all exceptional. What truly made the experience special was the warm hospitality - every staff member was incredibly kind, attentive, and welcoming. Their genuine care made us feel right at home. I would happily return every time I visit Ubud.

If you are looking for a villa to explore Ubud and more northern parts of Bali, look no more. We had a very nice 7 day stay here. The atmosphere, the jungle and the very nice staff, made us feel like we were in paradise. The inside of the villa is clean, the shower and bed is perfect, and you can of course expect some Bali insects here and there, but I was very surprised how few we actually encountered. We had our own pool, and there is also a larger pool at the main area of the hotel, and you even find a third pool at the spa area. Perfect spot for small families and couples, both if you want to relax and explore. It´s only 15 min. drive from central Ubud, surrounded by the nicest rice fields, and you are able to walk to two waterfalls nearby. They also provide free rides to central Ubud every day. They have massages, both at your villa or in their spa area close to the small river running through the jungle. Two times a week they have a free beginners yoga session in the morning, make sure to start your day with yoga in the jungle! The food was good and they are serving smoothies, drinks and food all day until 22:00. Looking forward to coming back, and if you are ever in doubt of what to do, the brilliant staff members, and especially Made from the reception, are always there with great suggestions!
