The tour included a free admission to the Rome meusem on the following day by showing our tour tickets. That was the plus. The negative: everyone else on this tour spoke German. Our guide, Holger, though friendly, catered to the German speakers. His explanations at each stop were given in German for least 3min. The English version was about 30 seconds. We felt that we were not getting all of the historic details. We have taken several other tours through Tripadvisor, and have always been happy with them. This was disappointing.

This was a very informative tour and we loved our tour guide. She was knowledgeable and didn't need to consult notes. The town hall is closed for renovations though and we didn't know that in advance. Also, trip advisor claims this is wheelchair accessible and it most assuredly is not.
Wonderful tour that covered a lot. Lisa was great in communicating everything on the history of both Augsburg and the Fugger family.
Gudrun our guide had perfect English. She was knowledgeable about the city. Despite the pouring rain our group of four had 2 hours of history walking across the city. We ended at the Fuggerei. We were able to stay in the complex and look at leisure at the end of the tour.
What a terrific tour with Ziggy. His English was excellent and he took more than two hours to take us around the city. He answered all our questions and didn’t rush the group. We were thrilled to learn the history of the city, the incredible water system and the importance of the Fugger family. Even Martin Luther and W A Mozart have a role here! The visit to the Fuggerei was the highlight of the tour. This is one of the best city tours we have ever taken.
Tour was originally planned in German. However the guide manage to do it in both English and German. Slow pace which helps a lot to see viewings did not rush and managed to see all even expending a little more time than expected.
A wonderful tour! Extremely enthusiastic, engaging, and knowledgeable guide. We learned so much and had a great time!
It was a really good time. Our was a little group. and we talked a walk through the istory of the city in a really relaxed atmosphere. I can easily raccomand this tour firs for the kindness of the guide and second for the many istorical attractions wich you are going to discover with the help of the guide. really interesting.
A great way to learn about the city! The tour guide was knowledgable and friendly. She clearly loves the town. Highly recommend this tour if you have a short time in Augsburg.
The tour guide kept his program light, but had nevertheless well-founded answers also to questions outside his chosen topics. In other words, we found him fit also as a historian of the city. The time spent at the Brecht Museum and especially the museal details we were confronted with at the Fuggerei were excessive in our eyes. The trivia about the youngest Fugger family members were not to our taste. As new residents of Augsburg we were able to insert ourselves in a larger historical and, through hydrographcs, geographical context.
It was a nice tour for the price. The guide spoke mainly German with English to follow. Would have liked more background into the formation and the history of the town. A large portion of the tour focused on socialized housing which was interesting but lacked any sizzle.
The tour was nice and the guide was friendly. But she was so soft spoken that we couldn’t hear anything she said. I loved the route through the city.
Very informative and interesting tour. Our guide was knowledgeable and answered all our questions. Water ways were fascinating as was the history of this charming and historic city.
I’m embarrassed to say that I didn’t get the name of our guide but he wore a hat w a feather in it on the August 28th 2 pm tour. He easily switched from German to English and kept up the momentum for over 2 hours. Augsburg is a vibrant city and it was interesting to learn of its great importance in the past. So much history and interesting buildings. I really enjoyed the tour.
I wish guide had better English and had better more interesting way to present the information. It wasn’t a fun experience. Some dry information that is easily forgotten. People with mobility issues should be cautious before booking. Lots of stairs and very fast pace
We arrived one minute late and the tour had left without us. No refunds. 70 Euros down the drain. Be sure to adhere to German punctuality!
It was very interesting to see the Fruggeri and also learn about the water system that helped Augsburg become an important city.
The Augsburg city tour is great ! A local guide tours you around for 2 hours highlighting the city , including the history of the city.
Awful, don’t be fooled, this is not an English tour! The guide arrived 15 minutes late, would talk for 5-10 minutes in German in front of the sites and if you wanted the English version, you needed to rush and walk next to her to the next site to have a 1 minute explanation. We have taken several excellent bilingual tours but this one was terrible!
The tour was nothing short of amazing. Our tour guide was superb and the information center went way out of there way to find an off-season tour guide who could give the tour in English. He was fantastic---funny, informed, indomitable in snow. It was a great tour that we highly recommend.
The guide was very knowledgeable; however, we paid for an English tour and our group was both German and English speaking. So he was giving the tour in 2 languages and the English version was short changed. Could use more stops of interest on the walk and shorter at the Fuggeteri
Trip advisor website error, not program related. I specifically requested the tour in English but at the morning tours only German is available. We still went but one of our members does not speak German and was completely left out on the information. If in language, it is a very good tour.
Maybe I should qualify my review by saying it started in the afternoon of a cool, windy Fall day. The tour was advertised as in English but actually was in English and German. Our guide did her best but it slowed things a lot. We spent way too much time in the City Hall. Maybe that was to stay warm. We felt we could have learned more about the city than we got on this tour.
Great tour and guide. Too much Fugher. Would have been nice to have more of the unique place Augsburg has in the Protestant movement and the origins of the Mortzart family. But overall a great tour and a city with a long history going back to Roman times.
Excellent tour. Guide very informative and accommodated wet conditions very well with our tour. Also very good at providing information in both German and English. An excellent tour guide and recommend this tour to learn about the fascinating history of Augsburg.
Our local guide provided an excellent bilingual history lesson of Augsburg, explaining it was one of the earliest settlements in the area, he also provided a comprehensive description of the families that built their wealth and invested back into their community. A very worthwhile tour with lots of detail
Fantastic tour, fantastic tour guide. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about his city. He gave us lots of historical and cultural information and was more than happy to answer questions. He conducted the tour in German and English which added to the tour. I felt like we got to see so much of the city, both the big tourist spots and the smaller more local spots. Would definitely recommend this tour and a huge thanks to our tour guide!
Great praise to the city guide. The history of Augsburg was conveyed in an exciting way and with a lot of charm and wit.
The lady who took the lead was incredibly good. She managed it bilingually, which is not easy. The whole time was very exciting and entertaining. Our tour was on July 18th at 2pm.
Friendly and competent guide. Interesting interactions with the audience. The guide talks a lot but shows us in the end quite little and tickets to museums are not valid beyond the day of the visit.
The tour should have been in English, but the tour guide spoke 80% in German. I understand that the group consisted mainly of German speakers, but when I hired the tour it said that it was in English only. It is not our responsibility that the quotas in English have not been completed and have had to be combined with German The explanations in English were very short and deficient, for that better I see it online
We were traveling with Olga. And despite the heat, she kept us absolutely happy with her stories about the city! It was fun listening to her. She told us so figuratively that we were able to put ourselves very well into the respective time. Big praise from our side!
The city tour showed us Augsburg from a very sympathetic and impressive side. The two hours passed in flight because it was so exciting and we got to know so many wonderful spots. Many thanks also to our guide Mr Peters.
The tour of Augsburg was very pleasant, entertaining and informative. Many knowledge gaps have been filled.
Sehr gut zusammengestellte Stadtführung. Zweisprachig und sehr kompetent! Intessante historische Zusammenhänge.
We were in Augsburg for the first time. The tour offers a beautiful and informative overview of Augsburg and its history. Our tour guide told a lot about the history of the buildings and Augsburg in general. The tour is moderately demanding, as there are a few kilometers to be covered on foot. Afterwards we went to a gardening business we had discovered on the tour and enjoyed a nice Bavarian snack. The price is a real bargain for the service offered. 100% recommendation for this tour. Anyone visiting Augsburg for the first time should definitely book this tour.
Saturday lunchtime, many groups of about 20 people each start at the same time. Explanations sometimes completely drifted. You had to ask the sights in part, then the guide felt caught and quickly explained something
We were very excited about the city tour. Meeting point was at the Touri Info on Rathausplatz. Unfortunately the group was very large (about 25 leuts) and the Guidin had a very soft voice and it was unfortunately not an Augsburg woman. You immediately noticed that she memorized something about Augsburg - that left little room for intermediate questions. The group, since so many people, could almost not follow the pace and the "lecture" was already in full swing when the slightly slower ones joined in. Despite everything, we got a good impression of Augsburg.
Definitely do it! Also recommended for locals. Price too low! So sign up, there's no doubt about it!
We had a very dedicated guide. After almost 2.5 hours we had a comprehensive overview of the history of Augsburg and the city's main sights. An entertaining and informative tour, definitely worth it at the start of a stay in Augsburg.
It was my first experience with a classic tourist information tour. I have already been on a "free walking tour" twice. I liked that one better. The group was very large, around 22 people. It was often difficult to hear the guide.
Very committed, a visit to the city wall would have been good. Overall, highly recommended for anyone interested.
Nice long tour (2h) lots of experiences. The Fuggerei at the end was very interesting with its own museums
The city tour was very interesting. The tour guide (Olga) was very competent and extremely friendly and humorous. We had a lot of fun.
The city garden was very worthwhile , much heard and seen . You don't come to such special places yourself in those days. Highly recommended .
