West Coast Discovery Tour

We had a great time with Raymen! The weather wasn’t ideal but overall everything was good and informative. We’re a group of four and we all had a really good time.

Our tour guide was very informative and funny, really enjoyed our tour. There was abit of a hike to the Falls but was worth it.

Great tour for our first day in New Zealand; we explored the fern-filled forest to see a waterfall and waded in the waters of Piha beach. Our tour guide, Moha, was friendly and safety minded. We appreciated chatting with him and he inspired us to visit to ferry to Devonport to see the amazing tree and view from Victoria mountain. We actually hopped on the ferry that night and thoroughly enjoyed the quaint city strip. Thank you, Moha, for a fun and memorable first day in NZ!

We ended up getting a private tour and it was really lovely! Jon was a great driver/guide and was really helpful during the trek to view Kitekite Falls. Highly recommended if you’re in Auckland!

We did the West Coast Discovery tour from Auckland. The tour started directly from our hotel where we were picked up by our guide, Adil. We were the only ones, which made the entire tour go quicker even though we had plenty of time at each destination. We appreciated that on our way back, Adil took a route back that allowed us to see a few other things and take advantage of the extra time available. Adil is very knowledgeable and personable. We were well cared for throughout. The van was comfortable and clean. The views on this tour are stunning. We highly recommend this tour, Aukland and Beyond Tours, and Adil, specifically.

A great discovery tour of the west coast of Auckland - a world that is so uniquely special and different to the city that is completely accessible. The trio of experiences on this tour were complementary (mountain ranges and viewpoints, black sand beaches, waterfalls) and impressively gorgeous! Our driver/guide, David, was a fount of information and insight! Highly recommended.

We were very lucky to spend our day with Andy. It was just us (a couple) and another person - so we had a feeling this was more like a private tour :) Andy was great - such a kind person with a knowledge about the country. Got picked and dropped directly from and to our hotel. The van was comfortable. We learned a lot and got to enjoy meat pies in a small local cafe. The beach is spectacular. Waterfall is great. Waitakere Ranges and Visitor Center informing and relaxing.

My mum and I went on this tour together. It was really well done! Adil was a very informative and welcoming tour guide/driver. He was very friendly and considerate. We saw 2 waterfalls, a beautiful black sand beach, and lions rock. Highly recommend!

This was a beautiful trip. We had great views from the peaks, a sturdy hike to see a beautiful waterfall, ending with lunch and time to admire the dark sand beach. Our guide, Aiden, was fantastic!

We had a great time with Adil as our guide. He was very knowledgeable and we enjoyed seeing the waterfall and the beach. He also took us to One Tree Hill and a drive across the bridge.

Adil, our guide was terrific. He shared his knowledge of New Zealand history and the history and character of the Auckland area. He was able to explain the significance of each site we visited. When the main road was closed to a waterfall he got us there by way of a winding backroad so we didn't miss out. I woukd recommend this tour and especially Adil as a guide.

Great tour. Stephen was very knowledgeable and fun to talk to you. No lunch included but he will ask to take you to a spot if you’re hungry and he took us to buy icecream. We even did a bonus visit to the Auckland Winter Garden. Recommend to take this tour.

Huge thanks to Nancy for a fantastic West Coast Discovery tour. She made a great tour extra special with her anecdotes, insights and great sense of humour. She engaged with all of the group members and was really responsive and flexible given changing weather - we ended up doing a great little hike up to a different waterfall as the road to the Karekare waterfall was closed… and Nancy added in a scenic coffee stop. Lunch at Piha beach was a great choice. Great tour - we had a really fun day.

Thoroughly enjoy this trip and the other people were lovely. Nancy was an amazing tour guide and had a great sense of humor. Had the best time. Haven’t laughed so much in ages. Nancy was a wealth of information regarding anything we asked of her and her local knowledge was excellent. The waterfall was just beautiful. Highly recommend this tour and Nancy as a tour guide.

Gentle tour around the coast and forests a short drive from Auckland, lovely landscapes and coastal views. Took the longer forest walk up to the waterfall which was well worth it. Nancy was a great guide, informative and entertaining.

Wonderful tour with Andy! He was relaxed, yet informative. The range, the falls and the beach are unbelievable.

It was a wonderful tour with Adil. He tailored the tour to suit us - taking us not only to the sites referred to in the itinerary, but also to other locations that he thought we would like and were a little off the usual “touristy” venues. He also gave us a very informative and interesting commentary along the way. We thoroughly recommend this tour!

Our guides, Nancy and Aiden, had so many interesting stories and facts to share as we drove through pristine country to the gorgeous Karekare Falls and the spectacular black sands of Piha Beach. Excellent trip.

Excellent guide, Nancy was very knowledgeable of the area, history and culture. The cultural center had great info on the local natives and wildlife. The beach was nice to see and the waterfalls were fantastic.

Our tour guides, Warren and Hendrick, were fantastic! They’re so knowledgeable, respectful of the land, their enthusiasm was contagious, answered all our questions about the flora and fauna and taught us so much about Māori culture. By far, the best tour we had on our 3 week vacation. Thank you, Warren and Hendrick! We’ll be back for sure.

Our tour guide told us so much about the city and sights. Our time at each stop was perfect. It was a relaxing day and great sights to see.

I had such a great experience with the west coast discovery tour! My tour guide was Rick and Sam. They were super friendly and we made a very good friendship with them by the end of the tour. The waterfall was and Piha beach were breathtaking. I also learned a lot of history about the indigenous people and the island.

John looked after our group of 11 for 5 days! Every morning was on time, gave us a lot of facts along the road, and was the superstar of our trip! Also a big shootout to Peter, who helped us a lot with planning all this trip, so when we arrived from Europe we already had all hotels and our activities pre-booked! If ever traveling again in NZ would definitely choose Auckland and Beyond again. Best wishes from Lithuania ;)

Just wanted to thank our driver. Chris, for the excellent driving and knowledgeable commentary on our drive from Aukland to Rotorua. He really filled in the time between the cities and our stop at the Waitomo Glow Worm Caves. He really made the daylong trip an experience in knowing more about New Zealand than just point out the various sites. Thanks again Chris and Auckland & Beyond Tours - Highly recommend both!

Great day. Peter was great amiable helpful host. The vehicle was great. The planning portion of the tour could do some improvement like 1. quicker responses 2. detailed itinerary and detailing the hours of the tour. I was under the impression that the tour is 12 hours. Our ending up being 8 hours. I guess it would be best to settle the time expectations. Overall we were happy with this tour company.

Gary was a wonderful driver and tour guide! He kept the whole family entertained, including a 17 yo and 8 yo, which is challenging in and of itself. He gave us good pointers ahead of our stops (Waitomo Caves and Hobbiton) and he taught us about the history of New Zealand and other interesting facts along the way. He made the long journey back from Hobbiton to Auckland CBD enjoyable by stopping for an amazing view and then for the famous Hokey Pokey ice cream along the way. Gary was thoughtful about van temperature and music/radio choices. We couldn’t recommend Gary and Auckland & Beyond Tours anymore!

Our driver comfortablely and congenially drove our party of three to Waitomo Caves, to Hobbiton and back to Auckland. Both sites were extra special and well-worth our time. Our private party enjoyed our drive to and from in the beautiful NZ countryside. Our driver was completely engaged with us and told us about NZ and the area we were visiting. We highly recommend.

We only had 2 days in Aukland and wanted to cover most of the attractions during that time. The company was great working with our schedule and accommodated us more than expected. Warren, our guide, was awesome; he went above and beyond to make sure we are well taken care off, he was very welcoming and flexible, he accommodated us more than we can ever ask for and he was very helpful in all aspects . He made sure the kids were happy and he just made all of us feel like family.. A huge thank you to Warren for making our trip so special and memorable. Thank you for being such wonderful person. We had a great day out with our teenage daughter exploring KareKare and Pihu beaches. Peter is an excellent guide; warm, friendly and knowledgeable. We felt comfortable and safe in his vehicle and in his hands. We highly recommend this option if you want personalised touring and local guides.

Warren (Wazza) was absolutely fabulous. He was eloquent, informative, and entertaining. He has a passion for his homeland and was gifted in his ability to share it with us. Warren was always conscious of the needs of our group and cheerfully accommodate us.

My family was privileged to have Auckland and Beyond take us for 5 days through the North Island. We were able to see many of the famous highlights including a private farm tour and Beetopia visit that Peter and Mai put together exclusively for us. Their operation did an excellent job keeping us entertained, the Mercedes van was immaculate every day, and they strive to appeal to the groups individual needs. Any concerns one might have in regards to a reopening country can be shelved; Peter will seek resolution to your needs every step of the way. He was also kind enough to offer advice and tips for the rest of our travels through New Zealand. Thanks Auckland and Beyond!

We requested their service for our Wedding to pick up the bride and drop us off to our after party accommodation. The driver Bushra was very nice, on-time, and helpful. We found this tour through our hotel. Our guide, Martin, tools on a great afternoon drive around Auckland including a nice picnic lunch. We really enjoyed our time and recommend this tour.
