Waiheke Island: Zipline And Forest Walk

Visited as part of a work excursion. Really enjoyable activity. Easy pick up from ferry and drop off afterwards. Well organised team and fantastic guides. Zipline views were stunning and so much fun!

We had a fantastic experience with Bree and Toby looking after us!

Trip had a bit of everything. Lovely scenery on drive from the harbour with great commentary from the local driver. The zip line was great fun and then the walk back through the bush was educational with the guides pointing out the indigenous trees and birds.

What a lovely experience, an amazing location with spectacular views, three zip lines each increasing in speed, the first over a vinyard and second and third over the forest. Didn't realise would have to walk back up but the wander through the forest was most informative. Would recommend.

First time Zipliner and it was wonderful!. Poppy and K were great. There were 11 of us. 3 progressively longer and steeper lines with a little walking in between platforms. Then the hike back to the start through the forest and flora and fauna pointed out by the guides. Great fun and worth it so very much.

Loved it and would recommend everyone to go. The staff was fun n courteous. The 3rd zipline was the best

Fantastic experience. Picked up from convenient nearby place and dropped at the end in nearest town. Chloé and Kylie were very knowledgeable guides - walk back through the forest full of interesting facts and the 3 zip lines were great fun. Definitely recommend.

Poppy and Katy were excellent guides, we went as a large family group aging from 7 to 75. We had an amazing time and absolutely loved the zip lining and Forrest walk. So fun and informative. Would jump at the chance to do it again.

Fantastic experience that I can’t recommend enough, the staff were absolutely amazing with my mother-in-law and father-in-law. Fraser and Conor were awesome guides that were respectful, entertaining, and patient. They put my mother-in-law at ease when she was slightly afraid of the height and they ensured that my father-in-law was not left behind as he walks at a slower pace.

Great experience. Awesome team of guides. Really explain everything well and make you feel at ease. So much fun. Just wish it was longer. Loved it. Thank you guys.

Hands down the best zipline experience I’ve ever done! EcoZip Waiheke was incredible from start to finish. A huge shout-out to our guides Poppy and Kat – engaging, knowledgeable, funny and extremely professional. They established a relationship of trust with us almost immediately, making us feel completely safe and relaxed while still keeping the whole experience fun. What really stood out was how informative the experience was. It’s so much more than just ziplining – we learnt so much about Waiheke, the native environment and conservation along the way. Amazing views, fantastic ziplines and two exceptional guides. Poppy and Kat absolutely made the experience! Highly recommend – 10/10! 🌿❤️

Ziplines were a lot of fun, but for me, the really special bit was the forest walk and learning about the wildlife and some of the Maori lore and legends. Our guides, Marcus and Fraser were wonderful. Great on the lines and even better with nature stories and descriptions. I will highly recommend the glide and ride to others!! Thank you

Wow….what a great experience! I was talked into doing this with my kids and I was a bit nervous but both Poppy and Marcus were excellent and made sure that the group stayed safe. Thank you both for a great start to a holiday.

Awesome experience, made so much better by informative and fun guides. Super safe, even our 6 year old family friend completed the whole tour trouble free (the guides were very encouraging). Views from platform three was especially great. The eco rainforest walk back was a nice short walk supported by interesting forest facts.

Can’t recommend this experience highly enough. A beautiful way to experience adventure and the stunning bush in NZ. Even a day trip from the city, you feel like you’ve really experienced the best of NZ. The staff were amazing, the bushwalk and views are spectacular. The zip line is a thrill and not too terrifying! Great family day out.

Nancy and Frazer made our day ziplineing perfect!! We were kitted up and flying through the air under their supervision in no time. Cannot recommend them and the experience too highly.

So much fun, with enthusiastic guides who were passionate about their job making the entire experience richer. Their knowledge of the native eco-environment; trees, plants and birds was interesting.

The tour staff were amazing in all aspects. Pick up was on time and the drive to the location was wonderful with lots of info about Waiheke. The ziplining was fun even though it was raining and I was quite nervous as I had never been ziplining before. The guides both made me feel safe and secure and I had lots of fun. The rainforest walk was beautiful and I enjoyed learning about the forest, which was extra beautiful because of the rain. I definitely recommend this tour and activity.

An excellent way to start our day in Waiheke! An exhilarating ziplining experience before a beautiful guided walk through the forest. The guides were super knowledgeable too!! Next time, we will book the winery combo.

Great experience, the children had a great time. Staff were friendly and helpful, along with being informative about the ziplines, environment, wildlife and places to visit. We loved our van driver Frankie, she was amazing, shared lots of information with us. Our group size was good, not too many of us, making it more enjoyable. The length of the visit was good, it could have been a little longer, but that's the joy of ziplining over the trees. Would do it again, the whole experience, cost, staff and forest was great.

We have done numerous family zip line experiences over the years. This one has 3 lines with speed and length increasing over the course. If you are a zip line enthusiast/thrill seeker, these are pretty mid-level compared to some of the ones in Hawaii and Costa Rica. However, the overall experience is top notch. Super professional, incredibly informative and interesting from the moment we were picked up at the ferry until the moment we were dropped off. Definitely would recommend to others.

Wow!!! What a day it was!! Zipline soo much fun to go on, will definitely do it again. Forest walk was amazing, such beautiful forest to see, and guide was soo funny, made the walk feel so short!

Whilst staying in Auckland, we done this tour as a day excursion. We were collected from the ferry terminal and given a brief tour of Waiheke and told about some of the details about the island. Upon arrival, we were given a safety brief and then got into our harnesses. We then proceeded to do 3 different ziplines which were a bit daunting at first, but also a great adrenilin thrill. After finishing the 3 ziplines, we walked back through a subtropical forest to the original starting point. The day was a great experience. I'd never done this activity before but the guides were great and not overwhwelming. My partner has MS but she managed to complete it all and has inspired us to want to do something like this again. Ecozip's environment friendly ethos is commendable and the whole day went according to plan!

The shuttle was waiting at the ferry terminal, our driver Frankie is very knowledgeable about the Island. Our guides Poppy and Marcus were ready for us on our arrival, they kitted us out professionally with a fair bit of laughter thrown in. Time for the first zip line. Marcus explained clearly what we had to do. Poppy was at the receiving end to get us off. The third zip line is the longest and most thrilling. The walk back through the forest was great, Poppy very knowledgeable regarding the vegetation and bird life. Recommend this activity

What a fantastic couple of hours, from the time we were picked up at Oneroa Village to our return we had a lot of fun. Our hosts were Fraser and Poppy. At all times safety was the priority and as first timers they made us feel comfortable from the off. There are three great zip lines to experience, one over the vineyard and the other two over the forest. The views everywhere are amazing. There is a short forest walk between two of the zip lines with the main forest walk at the end. We enjoyed the walk as much as the zip lines. This company very much cares about the environment and have done a lot to protect the area and forests. Fraser and Poppy shared lots of information with us and were available for any questions we may have. Bottom line, don’t hesitate, this is a fantastic experience.

What a great experience. Very well organised excursion. We were picked up and transported to the Ecozip centre. Marcus was a font of information, telling us about Waiheke island both on the way and way back. The safety information was comprehensive but delivered in a relaxed way. Marcus & Poppy were great guides, making sure each participant was safe and giving clear instructions for each zipline. The ziplines were super fun, and the scenery stunning. The forest walk was really interesting and a lovely way to wrap up a really fun activity.

Fun experience for the family. The zip lines were the safest I have been on. Very fast and beautiful scenery. Marcus and Poppy were great guides! The nature walk was very interesting. Their restoration efforts on the property are impressive. Highly recommend!

If you’re debating on going, go! Especially if it’s your first zip lining ever. Good intro to longer trails on other parts of country but still so much fun. We took the ferry down and purchased tickets directly at port (approximately $35 USD) for departure / return. There’s more to do on island itself so if I could go again I would plan to spend the entire day there. Ferries operate until 11:30 pm.

Locals kept telling us to visit Waiheke Island, but one of the people in our group doesn’t drink, so I worried it would be boring for her. I booked EcoZip to have a fun thing planned before wine tasting. It was perfect! They picked us up at the ferry dock, explained everything with total professionalism which made it clear we were in good hands, and the zip lining was fun and easy for all ages in our group. The nature hike was pleasant as well. This is the perfect addition to a great Waiheke day! Poppy and Macey are fantastic guides!

Lucia, Macey, and Frankie were awesome!! Learned about Waiheke island from Frankie on the drive up. The zip lines were a blast and we learned about the flora during the bush walk. We learned about EcoZips mission using their funds to take care of the land. Truly a memorable experience.

Beautiful experience was disappointing I couldn’t get refund for my adult son that was over weight restriction, and beware of price description in USD in small writing

We did this on 6 Mar and 3 of us had Poppy and Nancy as our guides. They took great care to ensure we felt comfortable and made us feel safe. Bring in my early 80s this was most important. We enjoyed the thrill of the rides as well as the bush walk. Nancy was extremely patient with our group, and her forest walk knowledge extensive but she kept it light making the whole experience enjoyable. Would definitely recommend this.
