From start to finish, the entire experience was top-notch. Our driver, Oliver, was witty, professional, funny, and showed us a great time. The tastings were great, and the lunch was absolutely divine. I wish I remembered our server’s name, but she went above and beyond to accommodate my gluten-free diet. I loved the personal attention that was given to us by everyone.

This was a great tour. The driver was friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed each stop and our lunch was fantastic. The driver even dropped off different couples at different locations as requested at the end of the tour. This allowed everyone to visit a place of interest that was passed along the way and extended our enjoyment of the island.
We really enjoyed this tour! Our guide, Nooroa, was the best! The winery was amazing—maybe the most beautiful winery we’ve ever visited. The host at the whisky and beer place was welcoming and enthusiastic, and we enjoyed the tastings. The lunch restaurant offered yummy food and wine with an amazing view. Additionally, though this was designed to be a small group tour, we were the only two who booked it. We sincerely appreciate that our tour was not canceled, and we were so lucky to get an amazing private tour!
This tour is fantastic our tour guide Kevin was excellent. We will definitely be back to visit this amazing little island
Really enjoyed the tour. The vineyards we went to were really nice. The food/platter we got was really good. The olive oil tasting was great and the venue was really new and modern. Debbie was really nice, friendly and funny.
Great tour and Sharon our tour guide gave us a great taster of the beautiful Waiheke island. Our adult son would have liked more bread with his lunch platter but that was the only minor complaint.
Absolutely incredible! The weather was a tad wet at the start as winter has just kicked off but that absolutely should not stop you. Every stop was so incredibly scenic. The wines and the lunch stop were perfect and we learnt so much about the wine and olive oil making process. An absolute must do! Karen our guide made it a 10/10 day
Our guide Debbie was great, and being an island resident was able to share her passion and knowledge of Waiheke. The wineries, Heke Brewing and olive oil tasting were devine, and it was great to sample a variety of different products rather than just wine. Each location offered stunning views, and the tour was well worth it. The tour van was modern and very comfortable. The tour finishes in Oneroa and it is well worth taking a later ferry back to Auckland to give you more time to explore the town rather than trying to make the 4:15pm ferry. Better yet, stay overnight on the island as there is so much to see and do. A day trip simply is too short. If you only have a day, then this tour is a great way to get a sample of what it offers.
This was a very nice tour. First stop was Mudbrick for a tasting of several wines. Then off to The Heke for a spirits tasting. You could also choose beer instead of spirits. The gin and whiskey were fantastic. You could also pay for attentional tastes or drinks. Then we went to Stonybrook and had a glass of wine and a charcuterie platter to share between the two of us, which was included. I bought an additional glass. Finally, there was an olive oil tasting. It was a very pleasant day, despite wind on the island. The island itself is beautiful and Karen was a very thoughtful guide.
Kaz was a great tour guide who was very knowledgeable & passionate about Waiheke Island. We visited some lovely wineries, a gin & whiskey distillery, tasted amazing food & sampled a variety of olive oils with individual, distinctive tastes. We highly recommend this tour!
What a fabulous day! Tour Guide Grant was such a great guide. My husband and I had the most memorable day learning about wine, beer, olive oil and the Waiheke community. This is the best tour we have had in 5 years and we travel frequently. This is a day we will be talking about for years to come. A real memory maker for sure! We had to depart a little early to make an unexpected meeting and Grant was very accommodating and so professional and fun.
Grant was such a cool host. Such fun. Great tasting of lots of different things from wine to gin, whisky and then olive oil. Great sounds. Such a great day
Unique vineyards and great scenery. Wines were about average but food and dessert offered was very good !
I'd visited Waiheke Island once before, the last time I was in Auckland just over 10 years ago so I was really looking forward to getting back and exploring the wineries a bit more this time. Couldn't have asked for better weather and an enjoyable day with our small group of 6 people. Grant, our guide knows the island well and took us on smaller road the larger buses couldn't have navigated to ensure we we take in the views of this picturesque place. We visited three wineries and had food to eat at each one - all provided lovely views, a variety of wines and great atmosphere. The only thing I would have changed was to take this tour on a week day as all the wineries were PACKED- it was a Saturday and stunning weather so a perfect day for wine tasting. But as a solo traveler I wanted to ensure that the tour would run and not be canceled if noone else signed up so I choose a Saturday for a better shot. Would definitely do this tour again the next time I find myself in Auckland.
The trip is set up with wine and pairings and was amazing. The education we got and to be able to understand how to pair and the differences it made were fabulous. Beautiful settings and small group. Wonderful day and if you are looking for a great starter activity to overcome jet lag or catch on your way out absolutely do this.
Our tour guide Grant was fantastic. Very enthusiastic and knows where to go. The visits to the 3 local wineries were excellent where especially the 1st one -Casita Miro - was exceptionally good. You could feel the passion of making wine from all staff working there. A must whenever you visit Waiheke island.
My Husband agreed to a wine tour for our Honeymoon even though he doesn’t drink wine, or any alcohol really. He loved the tour guide with intricate local knowledge and the food pairings were amazing. By the second stop he had not only been tasting wine and then letting me finish them, but found a pinot gris he actually likes!! Needless to say we purchased a bottle and had a really great time on such a beautiful island.
Caleb was the best tour guide! What a blast! The experience was incredible and the tours we went on were spectacular. The wine was so so so so good! The food at batch was so filling and it was huge portion. Best deal for sure
Thanks to Caleb for being a killer tour guide - super knowledgeable and went above and beyond for us with the rain - dropped us off at our next stop and came into the wineries with umbrellas to make sure we stayed dry on our way back to the van! We enjoyed getting to try a variety of different wines and feel different vibes for wineries on the island as well as have other Waiheke spots pointed out along the way - recommend doing this your first day on the island if you are spending multiple - good way to get oriented and get some true local recommendations along the way.
Caleb was a great tour guide! The 3 wineries were fantastic with amazing wine and great food! We had some extra site seeing spots included which were a great bonus! Highly recommend this tour!
Karen was an absolute star in her customer service, knowledge and general overall hospitality. Nothing was too much trouble and she made us feel so welcome and informed. The wineries we visited provided lots of fabulous wines to try, lovely pairing with different foods and the platter was just very generous. My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Thank you! Susanne
A good day out on Waiheke Island. We enjoyed the unexpected sunshine and saw three wineries (as promised). The grazing platter lunch was excellent. Only improvement would be the microphone and speakers on the bus. We couldn’t hear anything that the bus driver tried to share.
Thankyou for a fantastic day.... totally exceeding our expectations and our guides in Paora & Julia were amazing... especially Paora on his first day sharing his cultural & local knowledge of the island as we toured around. We couldn't recommend your service more highly, visiting from Australia the booking process was a breeze communicating and making payment via email; even the ferry tickets were organised for us!
From a company that has a good reputation this was a disappointing day. Only one out of three vineyards gave us a wine tasting with a matching nibble. I have been in touch with the company and accept their explanations that this was a day out of their control with corporate functions taking over and shortage of staff. I have since visited wonderful vineyards organised by myself on this beautiful island.
A beautiful island, tour was good, with some great elements. Visited three wineries, Batch, Casa Miro and Cable Bay. Lunch was at Cable Bay and was fine, nothing to write home about. The timing of this tour was odd - too much time at Batch, not nearly enough at Casa Miro - could have lingered there all day. Ordered wine to ship from Casa Miro and bought a jar of their red salt - YUM!!
A fantastic wine tour and the food paintings really makes it. The platter lunch was great and we were served a platter per couple, so plenty to eat. Our tour guide, Karen, was fantastic. The only negative, which had nothing to do with the tour itself, was the group we were with did not gel and it definitely tainted the day. However, that's the roll of the dice. Otherwise, the tour was fantastic and I'd highly recommend.
We heard of Waiheke Wine Tours on Tripadvisor and booked a wine tasting tour through them. Right from the beginning, communication from the company was immediate and prompt which we appreciated. A day before our tour, our guide for the tour Mr David Morris messaged us which reassured us. We reached Waiheke early to escape the 10 am ferry rush and also have a look at the village. David was very kind to pick us up from the Ferry Terminal and drop us at the village when he heard of it. We had a lovely time at the village. Thereafter, we left on our scheduled wine tasting tour. We started with Mudbrick for wine tasting. Walking through rosemary shrubs on either side of the walkway, olive trees above tables - we fell in love with Waiheke. We enjoyed the wine tasting at Mudbrick. We thereafter visited Obsidian and Cable. We had a sumptuous lunch at Batch. The food was delicious and the views fabulous. But what made our visit more special was David. He is passionate about Waiheke and New Zealand. He shared history, and information about the island. He showed us around the island beyond the wineries, which we may have otherwise missed if we had visited on our own - astoundingly beautiful views of the sea, bay, the town, a plane making a landing, sculptures, flora and fauna of the island, sharing about Maori, assisting us take family pictures. We think it was his warmth and knowledge which added to the tour and made it a memorable experience for us. And the cherry on the top was that an illustrator Toby Morris whom we admired for his story on privilege, titled ‘On a plate’ ,turned out to be David’s nephew ! It’s a small world indeed!
Brilliant experience!! I loved every single moment! Our tour guide was terrific, full of knowledge, and super friendly!! The vineyards were beautiful, the wine was delicious, and I'm so happy I opted for the platter tour!
We were looking for an amazing wine tour to take our friends upon from the South Island as they're very very fond of what wines the Canterbury region offers the world. They are also Te Runanga O Ngai Tahu and we wished to leave the best impression from Waiheke Island. From the moment we contacted Sharon at WWT, she couldn't be helpful enough and being extremely well travelled, the service from this business was outstanding. Thank you Sharon and team at Waiheke Wine Tours, we're definitely booking again and are going to highly recommend your business through contacts in Ngai Tahu Tourism. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!!
David was an EXCELLENT guide – super engaging, easy to talk to, and incredibly knowledgeable of the island. David provided so much added value to the tour with Maori history, personal anecdotes, and knowledge of the best beach and viewing spots. The jeep was also great and we loved that David was as excited to be in the jeep as we were! We enjoyed each of the wineries, particularly Casita Miro – we really enjoyed sampling the food with the wine – that was definitely our favourite aspect of the tour (along with hanging out with David!). Thank you very much – we will be returning!
We had a fantastic experience with Waiheke Wine Tours! My fiance and I were traveling the north island for two weeks and were looking for a wine tour for just the two of us. We came across WWT online, and when none of the standard tours met our needs, they offered a custom bespoke tour for just us two. Sharon was a fantastic guide with tons of local knowledge about the island. She brought us to 4 different vineyards, all of which offered excellent samplings of wines and delicious bites to go along with them. Would highly, highly recommend booking with WWT if you're considering a wine tour during your stay!
We were picked up on time at the agreed meeting point in the morning. We were a small group who attended the tasting that day. Karen, our guide took us to 3 different wineries where there were between three and five different wines to taste. At each winery we were told something about the different wines. In the end we were taken to the ferry in time, which took us back to Auckland. A very nice tour with beautiful wineries, thank you Karen for due tour on the island.
