The bus driver was great and we had a lot of fun. They definitely save the best for last on this tour. The final two stops are the best on the island.

We were met at the dock by our guide who directed us to our bus. Once everyone was there we headed off for our first tasting. Our guide has lived on the island for 7 years and had lots of fascinating stories about daily life there, the people on the island, the vineyards, and even Taylor Swift (she’s been there!) We had three tastings at great vineyards plus a fabulous lunch ( not included in the price) at a super scenic restaurant. It was fun to meet and chat with all the other tour members. I think I counted 9 nationalities. Great to not worry about self navigating or driving and just enjoy tasting wine in the beautiful scenery.
This tour was awesome. Our tour guide Oliver was phenomenal. He was very informative about the Island and had a great sense of humor. This tour is highly recommended.
I have been on two wine tours with Debbie as the guide and both were incredible experiences. Debbie is so bubbly and welcoming. Very knowledgeable with a great sense of humour and you can tell that she loves what she does. On my second tour, I had an asthma attack on the ferry ride over and she was amazing at helping to get me to the Waiheke Island medical centre for treatment. She then picked me up from the medical centre once I had my asthma puffer and I was able to rejoin the tour group and had the absolute best day ever. Thanks Debbie!! xx
Great day visiting Waiheke Island. We visited four wineries and ended with MudBrick which was spectacular. Our Driver Debbie was great too
Debbie our guide was wonderful. Views from the wineries were incredible. Wine was very good. Food at the Batch winery was delicious.
Good trip guide Noora very good
Well managed tour with very friendly and knowledgeable driver.
A great way to see Waiheke Island and taste great wines at some beautiful vineyards. Pick up/meeting was seamless and the tour bus the most comfortable and spacious I saw on the roads or also visiting the vineyards. Nooroa our tour guide made the day super special! After 36yrs on the island he showed us all things Waiheke and shared his knowledge in between wineries. He was very entertaining and made the experience personal while also connecting us all as a group. Definitely recommend!
A great tour with a knowledgeable and bubby tour guide. It went at a good pace whilst still allowing us to savour the wines and enjoy the scenery. The lunch was good and I took away a fine memory of this event.
Debbie is an excellent guide, informative and entertaining. The wineries chosen were excellent, especially Batch for lunch and ending with the best wines at Mudbrick. Waiheke Island itself is stunning.
Debbie was a fantastic driver and guide, entertaining and informative. The wineries are all excellent, but the standout has to be Mudbrick. All the wines tasted there from the Rose, Syrah, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay were fantastic and easy to drink.
Lovely day touring 3 vineyards and stopping for a gourmet lunch. A great experience. Our guide was funny & knowledgeable.
We had a great day seeing a bit of Waiheke Island and trying some wine. Our guide Caleb was lovely- friendly and helpful with a good sense of humour. He was knowledgeable about the island as well as keeping everyone informed about the day’s activities. It was easy to find him at the meeting location. The wineries were really great, stunning locations and good wine!
Excellent small group experience with local guide. Good knowledge of the island and the wineries. It rained most of the day which probably kept the number of wine tours down. Turned out to be advantageous as we received focused experiences at each of the wineries..
Amazing day! Great experience. Beautiful island. Wineries were excellent. Caleb was knowledgeable and very fun.
Excellent day, well managed, very enthusiastic and informed Caleb was our driver, met and interacted with lots of other guests, learned a lot.
This was so much fun with friends & solo I actually did it two years in a row & it was just as good both times they change up the vineyards. You could also do this romantically with a couple the convenience of the big bus pick up in town it’s fantastic.
Don’t miss this opportunity to visit this lovely island and enjoy some food and wines in great company.
Great day out. Each vineyard was different, variety of presentations with the tastings, great selection of wines. Caleb gave a great history or the island and the development of the vineyards and other activities on Waiheko
Nooroa was the best guide you could ask for. Hilarious, knowledgable and all-around wonderful local who really took the time to show us around the island and let us soak in the beauty of Waiheke. Each winery we stopped at had gorgeous views of the water and the city of Auckland across the way. The staff were friendly, full of information and we did not feel pressured to purchase bottles after the tasting. A wonderful half-day tour.
This Waiheke tour took me to four of the island’s most celebrated wineries, as well as to the stunningly beautiful deserted beach at Onetangi. The wine tastings were presented by knowledgeable guides, with a good selection of different grape varietals and wine styles, including an excellent self-bought lunch at Batch winery. The entire package was a total delight, my only minor gripe being that it would be nice to include the ferry ticket as an option for those not staying on the island.
We did the wine tour with a group of friends, and all had an amazing time.
Caleb did a great job! The wineries we went to were very nice. Lunch was delicious. And the scenery was great.
The tour guide and the wine makers were extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. We have thoroughly enjoyed our time on Waiheke island!
Excellent opportunity to see several wineries! Debbie was very knowledgeable and shared her personal experiences
They should definitely do it. I do need to say Rob was no problem on Saturday it was one woman who didn't like that he was doing his job and the rest of us were in my opinion right behind him. He was trying to find out why we had an extra person (a free loader) and what was going on - and quite rightly so.
Fantastic Experience! Wonderful wineries and stunning scenery. Our driver, Caleb was friendly and fun. Really enjoyed the day !
Great way to see the island and get a taste of wines from there. Highly recommend and our driver Caleb was very knowledgeable.
We had a lot of fun! The island is beautiful, wine is great, and the people are lovely. Highly recommended!
The wineries were fantastic and there was more than enough time between stops and the not to feel rushed .
The wineries were good and the only thing that I can complain about it is that the sommeliers do not know the Mexican wines, and we received a rude comment from Stony Ridge Winery. The driver of our Tour was really helpful and in love with his job, thank you!, but I would ask to skip this winery Stony Ridge Winery and maybe pick another from the wine tour.
Excellent tour. Caleb is a first rate guide and did a great job. The lunch at Batch Winery was unparalleled, including food, service, and view.
We had an amazing time! Our tour guide, Caleb, was wonderful, inviting, and met us at the Ferry to ensure we could find the bus. Each winery provided a unique tasting experience, creating a positive, varied experience. Overall, it was a great day, and I would highly recommend.
The tour guides were very flexible with us and gave great information about the island and its history.
I was able to book this tour the same day of the tour what it was fantastic. The experience was fantastic, love the interaction Rob created for us. The wineries we visited they wre pretty good. Overall a great tour for 1 day in Waiheke Island.
What a fun day of wine tasting on Waiheke! Rob was our guide and he made it such a wonderful experience! He is a true local with an evident love and passion for the island - and just so chill and easy to chat with! He told us some great stories and was happy to take any and all photos. Once we arrived at the ferry terminal, he was waiting for us with a sign with our names on it. After that, we boarded our tour bus. Just to note - this is a large tour! There were 23 people on the tour. Our stops included: -Cable Bay Vineyards (tasting) -Batch (lunch - not included) -Stonyridge (tasting) -Mudbrick (tasting) All the vineyards were absolutely STUNNING and unique in their own ways! It's hard to say which one was my favorite, although I was super drawn to Stonyridge. Our tasting expert at Stonyridge was absolutely superb - apologies for forgetting his name but a Frenchman from Reims in France. His explanations were absolutely fantastic! We also had a really lovely wine expert at Mudbrick. The large group was a bit daunting at first (actually never done a wine tour with such a large group before) but everyone in the group was very friendly and lovely to chat with. Just something to note in case you thought it would be a smaller tour. There were mostly Americans as well as Aussies and French. Everything was super smooth and comfortable. After the tasting, we had time to walk around and explore (and get more wine 😉) at every single winery which was truly wonderful! We got super lucky with the weather and the views at every winery were just so gorgeous. I highly, highly recommend this tour and absolutely can't wait to come back to Waiheke on my next trip to New Zealand. Thank you to Rob and the whole team for making this such a seamless and memorable day! Until next time. I
Debbie is an excellent tour guide. She is entertaining, knowledgeable and friendly. She really knows the island and gave us a good understanding of the culture and wines of Waiheke Island
Excellent wines/ platter at Batch winery and fantastic guide Caleb who gave us great insight into all aspects of Waiheke Island life
This was a fun day of tasting and experiencing the Island of Wine. Although it was a rainy day, we enjoyed some excellent wine and our guide Debbie was fantastic!
This tour was great, but not cheap. You have to take the ferry yourself and that fee is separate from the actual wine tour. Ride was short and very pleasant. Our driver Debra was a local hoot! We saw 4 wineries, tastings at 3 and lunch at one. Had to pay for lunch separately. Cable Bay was by far the most extravagant in spite of the hype Mudbrick gets. To me that place was a disappointment. . Some of the sommeliers were hard to understand, but all the wines were very good. We also had perfect weather which made the day that much more special. I would highly recommend the tour.
This was a fantastic day made particularly memorable by our driver Nooroa. His informative and humorous commentary meant we got an insight to life on the Island as well as the wines. He made a real effort to learn everyone’s names as well. The 4 vineyards all had some delicious wines but the last two also had great sommeliers who told us about the wines and what to look for. I would recommend this tour.
Very good very fun I enjoyed my time on the island and wine tasting we’re good I would highly recommend
Great day tasting good wines and learning about a few wineries and the island. 10 am ferry was good timing - 10.15 one is too tight some almost missed the tour. Weather was great island was lovely and our guide Debbie was great fun. 3 vineyards to taste at and another place for lunch. All good. An easy must do in Auckland.
A unique way to see the scenery and sample local wines at the same time. The wineries chosen were stunning, the charcuterie board had a scrumptious selection of cheeses, crackers, olives and more, and more wines could be sampled on board the bus. Dani was a happy hostess and Sharon shared her knowledge of the island while expertly steering the bus on sometimes bumpy roads. You came away envying the people lucky enough to call the Island home.
Me and my partner went to this being complete wine newbies. We definitely learned alot and tasted some of NZ best wine. Our favorite was Stony Ridge, we really loved the Fallen Angel Rose Wine because it isn't too sweet and the flavour was immaculate. Airfield Red Blend was also a highlight and took some bottles home. Each spot took us around 30-35 minutes to complete. Wish some of them were longer. At the end, you may stay at the last testing spot at Mud Brick and have more of their awesome wines and fine cuisine. The tour ended around 3:35PM, just in time to arrive for the 4:20PM ride back to Auckland.
Loved all the wineries we visited. Best part, there was no planning on our end, and Debbie kept us entertained. Overall, great experience!
Fantastic tour. Caleb was a wonderful guide, fun, funny and very knowledgeable. The wineries were excellent, finishing up at Mud, with Darren, who was a hoot!
Highly recommend!! Was my first time on the island and was a really fun experience getting to see 4 different wineries, some truly lovely wine stops. ROB was also a fantastic host and really made the day fun, would certainly recommend to anybody wanting a great day out in Waiheke.
Amazing trip with a friendly guide from England , my only upset was it was a bit rushed and no time to full relax - it could do with being a hot or so longer to really enjoy
